    Using ASP.net, what methods can I use to do the following: Open up a connection to a given URL to read HTML content Parse the given URL for hyperlinks, and place them in an array Loop through each hyperlink (only 1 level down), opening each one, saving the HTML contents in a table, and move to the next hyperlink until done. If ASP.net is not up to the task, other languages or free scripts/toolkits would be acceptable. Thanks.

  • Error using paho-mqtt in App Engine Python App

    I am trying to right a Google Cloud Platform app in python with Flask that makes an MQTT connection. I have included the paho python library by doing pip install paho-mqtt -t libs/. However, when I try to run the app, even if I don't try to connect to MQTT. I get a weird error about IP address checking: RuntimeError: error('illegal IP address string passed to inet_pton',) It seems something in the remote_socket lib is causing a problem. Is this a security issue? Is there someway to disable it?   • Check whether server is up in AppleScript

    I have an intranet server running on a Windows XP computer and the internet connection on it has been known to be pretty unreliable (surprise, surprise) so I was wondering if there was a way to use an AppleScript to poll it every hour or so to see if it is up and running and if it isn't, execute something, like send myself an email. But after uploading to the webserver, it gives me a warning: file_get_contents(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution. If I replace the domain name with google's IP address, it gives a warning: failed to open stream: Connection timed out. And ini_get("allow_url_fopen") return 1.

    Hello, I have a section of code that uploads an image: [activity startAnimating]; [self uploadImage:img Session_id:appDelegate.sessionID PlaceID:place.placeID Comment:comment.text]; [activity stopAnimating]; I am sure that activity is wired up correctly to a UIActivityViewIndicator, but it never shows. Inside the uploadImage function, I open a connection to the server and start the upload. Does anyone have an example or possible explanation as to why the activity view would not display?

I was wondering if it is possible to download the same using a tracker, the major challenge is authentication of the users IMO.   • SystemIO Exception when opening RFCOMM in Mono

    I have a Mono application which opens a RFCOMM connection (/dev/rfcomm0) but when I run as a user, I get a System.IO.IOException Interrupted system call. I'm running this on openSUSE 11.2. If I run the application under sudo, it works fine. I have added the dialup group to my user account so I'm not getting a permission denied error. I'm not sure if this is a Mono serial comms question or a permissions question for ServerFault.

    I am trying to workaround CORS restriction on a WebGL application. I have a Web Service which resolves URL and returns images. Since this web service is not CORS enabled, I can't use the returned images as textures. I was planning to: Write a PHP script to handle image requests Image requests would be sent through the query string as a url parameter The PHP Script will: Call the web service with the query string url Fetch the image response (web service returns a content-type:image response) Add the CORS header (Add Access-Control-Allow-Origin) to the response Send the response to the browser I tried to implement this using a variety of techniques including CURL, HTTPResponse, plain var_dump etc. but got stuck at some point in each. So I have 2 questions: Is the approach good enough? Considering the approach is good enough: I made the most progress with CURL. I could get the image header and data with: $ch = curl_init(); $url = $_GET["url"]; curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array('Content-Type:image/jpeg')); //Execute request $response = curl_exec($ch); //get the default response headers $headers = curl_getinfo($ch); //close connection curl_close($ch); But this doesn't actually change set the response content-type to image/jpeg. It dumps the header + response into a new response of content-type text/html and display the header and the image BLOB data in the browser. How do I get it to send the response in the format I want?   • mysql_connect "bool $new_link = true" is very slow

    Hi, I'm using latest version of Xampp on 64bit Win7. The problem is that, when I use mysql_connect with "bool $new_link" set to true like so: mysql_connect('localhost', 'root', 'my_password', TRUE); script execution time increases dramatically (about 0,5 seconds per connection, and when I have 4 diffirent objects using different connections, it takes ~2 seconds). Is setting "bool $new_link" to true, generally a bad idea or could it just be some problem with my software configuration. Thank you.

  • Deploying EAR file in Sun App Server having problem with proxy server setttings

    When I am deploying certain vendor EAR file to Sun App Server, I encountered a connection timeout errror. I thought the reason might be proxy settings need to be defined so I actually defined the following -Dhttp.proxyHost=hostname -Dhttp.proxyPassword=password -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 -Dhttp.proxyUser=username After setting these and restart domain then redeploy I encountered 407 error. Anyone have any idea what could be the issue here?

  • Trappings MySQL Warnings on Calls Wrapped in Classes -- Python

    I can't get Python's try/else blocks to catch MySQL warnings when the execution statements are wrapped in classes. I have a class that has as a MySQL connection object as an attribute, a MySQL cursor object as another, and a method that run queries through that cursor object. The cursor is itself wrapped in a class. These seem to run queries properly, but the MySQL warnings they generate are not caught as exceptions in a try/else block. Why don't the try/else blocks catch the warnings? How would I revise the classes or method calls to catch the warnings? Also, I've looked through the prominent sources and can't find a discussion that helps me understand this. I'd appreciate any reference that explains this. Please see code below.
