IE: position two text lines on top and bottom corners in table cell?

I have a table with dynamic data. And there is a specific line of text which should be displayed only when a user hovers over the table row. This line of text should be 'fixed' to the table cell's bottom edge. It works so far with Firefox, but fails in IE. Live code can be seen here: http://2010resolutions.org/test/index.html The text in red should be fixed to the table cell's bottom border. (They will have a fixed height and width) Any clues how to get this working in IE? Any help is appreciated. Making CSS Render in a simialr way on FireFox 3.0.15/IE 6.0 & 7.0

Following css renders differently depends on the browser (mainly with Firefox) Firefox: the border-left-style:dashed does not seem to take effect as desired and black lines are shown instead. Also font seems to be another issue using em as they respond relatively better in cross browser. When i used pixel its a mess but not sure em is better or not. Why isn't the inline element inheriting height from its children?

I'm trying to make a rather complicated grid of images and information (almost like Pinterest). Specifically, I'm trying to inline position one set of <ul>s right after another. I have it working but one aspect is causing issues so I'm trying to ask about this small piece to avoid the complication of the whole problem. In order to horizontally align the images and their information we are using inline <li>s with other inline-block level elements inside of them. Everything works correctly for the most part except that the <li>s have almost no height. I know that changing the <li> to display:inline-block solves this problem but that isn't feasible for other reasons. So first of all, I'm just looking to see if anyone understands why the inline <li> element doesn't have any height. I can't find anything in the spec that explains this. I know I can't add height to an inline element but any explanation as to why this is happening that might enable me to fix would be great. Secondly, if you inspect the elements using IE's Developer Mode you will see that although the background color is in the correct location, the actual location of the <li>'s bounding box is at the bottom of the container according to hovering over the element. I could deal with this problem if it was at the top in every browser but it apparently varies. NOTE: I don't really care about older browsers in this case but I don't use HTML5 or JavaScript positioning. Thanks.

How to change the overlapping order of TabItems in WPF TabControl

I have created vertical TabItems with a Path object. The selected TabItem overlaps the unselected TabItems, this works fine. The overlapping is done by setting a negative margin in the TabItem Template. For the unselected TabItems right now a TabItem is overlapped by the TabItem below. For example in the picture Tab 4 overlaps Tab 3 and Tab 3 overlaps Tab 2. I would like to change the overlapping order for the unselected Tab Items, so that an unselected TabItem overlaps the TabItem below and is overlapped by the TabItem above, e.g. Tab 2 overlaps Tab 3 and Tab 3 overlaps Tab 4. I have tried to set the FlowDirection property of TabPanel, but this doesn't work. How can I achieve this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance! Drop down list in menu disappears before able to click

I've had quite a search through forums looking for a solution for this, but since I don't know coding I'm not sure what applies to me and what doesn't. So, apologies if this is an often solved problem, but I'll greatly appreciate your help! After much trial and error, I've managed to get a drop down list of pages on my navigation bar; however, when I go to click on a sub-page, the entire menu disappears. I've read through other similar problems where there has been an issue with a margin that's too big, but I think my margins are set to '0'. How to hide the div on any click outside

I am starting up on jquery and was tryin to create a simple div hide and show effect. The effects seem to work fine but i need that when user clicks on any other part of the document(i. except the hide/show box), the box should hide back. Mysterious dbboon folder with proxy.php file on my godaddy account

When doing some web maintenance today, I noticed a strange new folder on my GoDaddy hosting account at the root level named "dbboon", with a single file inside, called proxy.php. It's code is listed below, and seems to be some sort of proxy function. I was kind of troubled because I didn't put it there. I googled all this to learn more, but didn't find anything, except for the proxy file happened to be also stored at pastebin.com: http://pastebin.com/PQsSPbCr I called GoDaddy and they confirmed that it belonged to them, said it was put there by their advanced hosting group for testing purposes but didn't have any more information. Using custom DataContractResolver in WCF, to transport inheritance trees involving generics

I've got a WCF service, in which there are operations which accept a non-generic base class as parameter. [DataContract] class Foo { ... } This base class is in turn inherited, by such generics classes as [DataContract] class Bar : Foo { ... } To get this to work, I'd previously have to register KnownTypes for the Foo class, and have these include all possible variations of Bar (such as Bar, Bar and even Bar). With the DataContractResolver in .NET 4, however, I should be able to build a resolver which properly stores (and restores) the classes. My questions: Are DataContractResolvers typically only used on the service side, and not by the client? If so, how would that be useful in this scenario? Am I wrong to write a DataContractResolver which serializes the fully qualified type name of a generic type, such as Bar1[List1[string, mscorlib], mscorlib] ? Couldn't the same DataContractResolver on the client side restore these types?

WCF Error - Security processor was unable to find a security header in the message

Hi, I'm getting what appears now to be a security error in my WCF Service. Originally my error was about a falted state(removed using around client proxy to clear this error), but have found more information through enabling trace. I have been unable to get my solution running after encountering this error, and even my backup copy now gets the same error. I'm not sure what has caused this to happen, I undone the changes I made (nothing relating to WCF) and still get the same error. The error from trace is - System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: Security processor was unable to find a security header in the message. This might be because the message is an unsecured fault or because there is a binding mismatch between the communicating parties. This can occur if the service is configured for security and the client is not using security. I'm not really sure what I need to do to fix this, any help would be usefull. The application was previously working.

WCF NetTcpBinding Buffered vs Streamed performance problems

I wrote a WCF service that should transform any size of files, using the Streamed TransferMode in NetTcpBinding, and System.IO.Stream object. When running performance test, i found significant performance problem. Then I decided to test it with Buffered TransferMode and saw that performance is two times faster! Because my service should transfer big files, i just can't stay in Buffered TransferMode because of memory management overhead on big files at the server and client side together. Why is Streamed TransferMode slower than the Buffered TransferMode? What can i do to make Stremed performance better?

Configuring WCF to Handle a Signature on a SOAP Message from an Oracle Server

I'm trying to use WCF to consume a web service provided by a third-party's Oracle Application Server. I pass a username and password and as part of the response the web service returns a standard security tag in the header which includes a digest and signature. With my current setup, I successfully send a request to the server and the web service sends the expected response data back. However, when parsing the response WCF throws a MessageSecurityException, with an InnerException.Message of "Supporting token signatures not expected." My guess is that WCF wants me to configure it to handle the signature and verify it. I have a certificate from the third party that hosts the web service that I should be able to use to verify the signature. Maintain cookie session in Android

Okay, I have an android application that has a form in it, two EditText, a spinner, and a login button. The user selects the service from the spinner, types in their user name and password, and clicks login. The data is sent via POST, a response is returned, it's handled, a new webview is launched, the html string generated form the response is loaded, and I have the home page of whatever service the user selected. That's all well and good. Now, when the user clicks on a link, the login info can't be found, and the page asks the user to login again. My login session is being dropped somewhere, and I'm not certain how to pass the info from the class that controls the main part of my app to the class that just launches the webview activity. It seems to work for one service I log into that I know keeps the cookies on the server (old, archaic, but it works and they don't want to change it.) The service I'm attempting now requires the user to keep cookies on their local machine, and it does not work with this setup. Any suggestions?

WIF using SAML 2 protocol / Federate AD FS 2.0 with CAS

I'am are trying to implement a Web SSO with claim based identity using WIF and AD FS 2.0 right now. Right now I have a existing ASP.Net application which delegates authentification to the AD FS 2.0 server and trust issued security tokens. That works just fine. However, in the organization there is an existing JA-SIG Central Authentication Service (CAS) server which supports the SAML 2 protocol. I would like to replace AD FS 2.0 with the existing CAS service. In my understanding WIF uses WS-Federation, which is like a container around a SAML token. Is it possible to use the plain SAML 2 protocol and it's bindings (redirect or POST)? If that is not possible (as I guess), a second alternative might be to use federate identity and federate AD FS 2.0 with CAS. Is that possible? There is little to no information about that on the web. Thanks :-)

Tess4J working as standalone in 64 bit windows, But fails in Tomcat 7

Trying OCR with Tess4J and able to make it work as a standalone application on 64 bit windows. I am using eclipse for the same. Now I am trying to create a war of the same code and deploy it in Tomcat7 and call the api using a servlet. Spring Security - Interactive login attempt was unsuccessful

I've been trying to track down why Spring Security isn't creating the SPRING_SECURITY_REMEMBER_ME_COOKIE so I turned on logging for org.springframework.security.web.authentication.rememberme. At first glance, the logs make it seem like the login is failing but the login is actually successful in the sense that if I navigate to a page that requires authentication I am not redirected back to the login page. However, the logs appear to be saying the login credentials are invalid. Any ideas as to what is going on? WCF configuration for WebHttpBinding(Restful) for supporting both HTTP and HTTPS

We are using AJAX Cascading dropdown and AutoComplete functionality with Restful WebService Services providing data. With one endpoint(non-secured) eveything was working fine, until we tried same web page with https. Our Webappplication needs to support both. Our of very few articiles/blogs on this issue I found 2 which applies to my requirements. 1. http://blog.abstractlabs.net/2009/02/ajax-wcf-services-and-httphttps.html 2. _http://www.mydotnetworld.com/post/2008/10/18/Use-a-WCF-Service-with-HTTP-and-HTTPS-in-C.aspx I followed same pattern, added 2 endpoints, assuming WCF will pickup appropriate endpoint looking at HTTP or HTTPS protocol. Worked like a charm in my dev machine(XP-IIS5) and 1 Server 2003R2(IIS6), however did work in Production server 2003-IIS6. Website in IIS is exact same(including permission etc). The error it throws - Error 500(Could not find a base address that matches scheme https for the endpoint with binding WebHttpBinding. Registered base address schemes are [http]..) Example WCF XML-RPC client C# code against custom XML-RPC server implementation?

I have built my own little custom XML-RPC server, and since I'd like to keep things simple, on both server and client side (server side PHP runs, by the way), what I would like to accomplish is to create a simplest possible client in C# using WCF. Let's say that Contract for service exposed via XML-RPC is as follows. [ServiceContract] public interface IContract { [OperationContract(Action="Ping")] string Ping(); // server returns back string "Pong" [OperationContract(Action="Echo")] string Echo(string message); // server echoes back whatever message is } So, there are two example methods, one without any arguments, and another with simple string argument, both returning strings (just for sake of example). Service is exposed via http. What's next? Thanks for reading! P.S. I have done my homework of googling around for samples and similar, but all that I could come up with are some blog-related samples that use existing (and very big) classes, which implement correct IContract (or IBlogger) interfaces, so that most of what I am interested is hidden below several layers of abstraction...

Python soap using soaplib (server) and suds (client)

This question is related to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1751027/python-soap-server-client In the case of soap with python, there are recommendation to use soaplib (http://wiki.github.com/jkp/soaplib) as soap server and suds (https://fedorahosted.org/suds/) as soap client. My target is to create soap services in python that can be consumed by several clients (java, etc). I tried the HelloWorld example from soaplib (http://trac.optio.webfactional.com/wiki/HelloWorld). It works well when the client is also using soaplib. Then, I tried to use suds as client consuming the HelloWorld services and it fail. -Why this is happening? Does soaplib server has problems to consumed by different clients? Unable to set maxReceivedMessageSize through web.config

Hello there, I have now investigated the 400 - BadRequest code for the last two hours. A lot of sugestions goes towards ensuring the bindingConfiguration attribute is set correctly, and in my case, it is. Now, I need YOUR help before destroying the building i am in :-) I run a WCF RestFull service (very lightweight, using this resource for inspiration: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd315413.aspx) which (for now) accepts an XmlElement (POX) provided through the POST verb. I am currently ONLY using Fiddler's request builder before implementing a true client (as this is mixed environments). When I do this for XML smaller than 65K, it works fine - larger, it throws this exception: The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element. WCF: Using Streaming and Username/Password authentication at the same time

Hi, I have a WCF Service with the following requirements: a) The client requests a file from the server which is transferred as a Stream. Files may be 100MB or larger. I need streaming or chucking or whatever to make sure that IIS is not loading the whole package into memory before starting to send it. b) The client will transfer an ID to identify the file to be downloaded. The user should be authenticated by providing username/password. c) While the username/password part of the communication needs to be encrypted, encryption of the downloaded file is optional for our use case. My other services, where I am returning smaller files, I am using the following binding: <ws2007HttpBinding> <binding name="ws2007HttpExtern" maxReceivedMessageSize="65536000"> <security mode="Message"> <message clientCredentialType="UserName" /> </security> </binding> </ws2007HttpBinding> But, as I said, that is no good for streaming (Message encryption needs the complete message to encrypt and that is not the case when streaming). I have two questions. a) How would you configure WCF to achieve the goal? b) If the MS proposal is good: What I am doing wrong, the error message does not really help me. Thanks.
