NullPointerException when generating RSA keys with BouncyCastle

public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
RSAKeyPairGenerator rsaKeyPairGen = new RSAKeyPairGenerator();
AsymmetricCipherKeyPair keyPair = rsaKeyPairGen.generateKeyPair();
}
the rsaKeyPairGen is not null, but the generateKeyPair() method is throwing NullPointerException. What may be wrong?
