• Android - Transforming widgets within transformed widgets and the resulting usability issues.

  Hello. I'm new to Android application development and I'm currently experimenting with various UI ideas. In the image below, you can see a vertically scrolling list of horizontally scrolling galleries (and also textviews as you can see). I'm also doing some matrix and camera transformations which I will come to in a minute. For the background of the list elements, I use green. Blue is the background of the galleries, and red is the background for the images. These are just for my benefit of learning. The galleries being used are extended classes where I overrode the drawChild method to perform a canvas scale operation in order for the image closest to the center (width) to be larger than the others. The list view going vertically, I overrode the drawChild method and used the camera rotations from lack of depth dimension in the canvas functionality. The items in the list are scaled down and rotated relative to their position's proximity to the center (height). I understood that scrolling and clicking would not necessarily follow along with the image transforms, but it appears as though the parent Gallery class's drawing is constrained to the original coordinates as well (see photo below). I would love to hear any insight any of you have regarding how I can change the coordinates of the galleries in what is rendered via gallery scroll and the touch responsiveness of said gallery. Images in the gallery are not same dimensions, so don't let that throw you in looking at the image below Thanks in advance! Ben link to image (could not embed) -- Update: I was using my test application UI and noticed that when I got the UI to the point of the linked image and then I touched the top portion of the next row in the list, the gallery updated to display the proper representation. So, I added a call to clearFocus() in the drawChild method and that resulted in more accurate drawing. It does seem a tad slower, and since I'm on the Incredible, I'm worried it is a bloated solution. In any event, I would still appreciate any thoughts you have regarding the best way to have the views display properly and how to translate the touch events in the gallery's new displayed area to its touchable coordinates so that scrolling on the actual images works when the gallery has moved. • Can't Display Bitmap of Higher Resolution than CDC area

  Hi there dear gurus and expert coders. i am not gonna start with im a newbie and don't know much about image programming but unfortunately those are the facts :( I am trying to display an image from a bitmap pointer *ImageData which is of resolution 1392x1032. I am trying to draw that at an area of resolution or size 627x474. However, repeated trying doesnt seem to work.   I am working on a Regex pattern for searches that should allow optional '+' sign to include in the search and '-' sign to exclude from the search. For example: +apple orange -peach should search for apples and oranges and not for peaches. Also the pattern should allow for phrases in double quotes mixed with single words, for example: "red apple" -"black grape" +orange - you get the idea, same as most of the internet searches. Positive search is where I am having a problem, it works fine when I run it in RegexBuddy but when I try in .Net the pattern picks up second word from negative criteria, for example in -"black grape" it picks up word 'grape' even though it ends with double quote. Any suggestions?

  When working with web-designers in a Spring-MVC and JSP environment, are there any tools or helpful patterns to reduce the pain of going back and forth from HTML to JSP and back? Project requirements dictate that views will change often, and it can be difficult to make changes efficiently because of the amount of Java code that leaks into the view layer. Ideally I'd like to remove almost all Java code from the view, but it does not seem like this works with the Spring/JSP philosophy where often the way to remove Java code is to replace that code with tag libraries, which will still have a similar problem. Which is tedious, and prone to errors.

• CSS column height different on Opera/IE to FF

  Hi all, Thanks to everyone who helped with my last question but I've got a new browser-independent problem: For some reason, the image navigator (not yet functioning) on a website I'm working on is currently not displaying in the correct place on Firefox. It appears in the right place in IE8 and Opera but Firefox seems to have a problem with it. As can be seen in the below image, the imageContainer div (the image and the left/right arrows) appears on top of the footer, this is how it should look i.e. how it looks in IE8 and Opera. But in the image below, the imageContainer div is cutting into the footer div for some reason, and I don't know why. imageContainer has a margin-top: 110px; to get it in the right place at the bottom of its column. There are 2 columns, the left housing the paragraphs and imageContainer and the right housing the Calendar and contact details. The footer div also has clear: both; Also, it's not just the image that is falling into the footer, it's the arrows as well only they are the same colour as the footer so this isn't immediately apparent. Any ideas why it isn't displaying correctly? Is there a better way of aligning the imageContainer to the bottom of it's column (to keep the box shape of the website) other than using the margin-top to position it? The problem is that I got "some" images with the class "button-banc" and I want this behaive: When you pass the mouse over, "only the actual image" should jump. The problem is that with the code I posted, every image jumps. How can I achieve this, please help; I want to make a generic way, so that if I add images with the class, they also behaive like that. Instead, it appears that the form is submitting by a post request. • Apache issue with subdomains

  I just setup a subdomain with the following RewriteCond: RewriteCond $1 !^search.php$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^/?([^/]+)$ search.php?q=$1 [L,NS] I'm using the same rewrite condition on my main domain and it works perfectly. However, when I set it up on the subdomain, it simply outputs "index.php" when going to http://subdomain.domain.com Every page on the subdomain outputs the page name in the body instead of processing the code, except for the search page, which appears to be working correctly. Any idea why every page but the search page works? What can I do to correct it?

• How to transfer binary data through multiple http server?

Let me explain the scenario: I have two http servers. server A is accessible to end user by web browser, while server B is internal server which can only be accessed by server A. If server B generate some big jpeg image in local disk, obviously we can't just delivery those path to image to server A and eventually to end user. Then, how to let end user see those image without firstly storing those image data in server A temporarily? I run PHP on server A and perl on server B, but this should not matter. • Button outside view... how to make it work

  I have a UIImageView based class that creates objects with the following characteristics: a small image square and a UITextView below. If the user drags the object by the image it can drag it around. If the user taps on the UITextView the keyboard has to appear and the user can change the text on it. The objects created by the class are like this: 1) the object creates a 60x60 pixels frame 2) puts an image inside that frame 3) creates a UITextView and puts it below that 60x60 frame. So, as the class is a UIImageView based and it creates an image with 60x60 pixels and the UITextView is located outside that area, in theory the text view is outside the area the tapping are for that object. Obviously I could make the class create a big square to encompass the image and the text view, but that frame would be too big and I have the objects created by this class to be as close as possible when I add them to another view. I could also create the text views from the same view I created the objects, but I would have to manage each object and each correspondent text view and I need them to move together... so, I have a problem. Any ideas on a simplest way to do that?
