• Need material for character anatomy in a 2D game. Spartan Like, See Picture

  I'm creating my art for an 2d based IOS game. I know some basic anatomy as you can see by the picture but I have no idea how I will make draw the pics for animation of the character walking, attacking with his sword and protecting himself with shield. Is there any anatomy reference for 2d game out there, book or anything else? for your information, I did try to find but all of stuff I found are very amateur and incomplete The picture was my attempt of creating a example of the character walking, which I'm not happy with please help, thanks Update: Since I am in a hurry I decided I would copy the anatomy from other 2d games, it is not that clean but at least I wanna be able to start it.   I'm trying to add more structural information to my webpages by using the microdata format suggested in www.schema.org. The procedure seems straight forward but I'm having issues validating my results in the Google Rich Snippets Testing Tool. Check out this review page, here I'm using the 'reviewRating' property item to specify rating values for that particular review. I followed the same format as defined in schema.org/Rating but this markup fails validation in Google's rich snippet testing tool with the following error info. Item Type: http://schema.org/rating reviewrating = 5 ratingvalue = 5 Warning: Property "reviewrating" was not found.

• Giant battery consumption with dual graphics solution (only i-gpu working)

  I use a Laptop with Intel Core i7 SandyBridge and integrated Intel HD3000 graphics as well as a Nvidia Geforce GTS 555M. So far, I got the impression my Laptop was running with the Nvidia graphics adapter only because the fan was always running on highest speed (and loudest noise) and it was getting very hot even when doing nothing. Also the battery is empty after ~40-50 minutes (while having ~4-5 hours with Intel graphics in Win7). Since this can't be healthy I wanted to switch to the integrated graphics instead. I was fairly surprised when the System Information showed me that the as graphics adapter I use "Intel M". Why is my battery empty so fast with Ubuntu? Without using the NVIDIA graphics adapter? Summary: I DONT WANT to use the Nvidia graphics adapter (OPTIMUS), I just want the Intel solution. As I have understood, the Intel solution is running already, emptying my battery 10x as fast as Win7. What is wrong? Any ideas?

• What is the name for landing pages that are one long page?

  Really don't see them much anymore, but here's an example of what I mean: From comments: These are "high pressure" sales pages, design to overload the user with information, sell them on the belief that what they're buying is what they need, normally have a lot of testimonials, highlighted text, etc. The pages I'm talking about are not user friendly, they're aggressive sales pitches designed to target users wanting to belief the webpage they just landed on will solve there problems for an "affordable" price. Here's an example: www_landingpagecashmachine_com (remove the underscores, since I'm attempting to avoid linking to a site like that...) Bonus points: if you're able to tell me the name of the guy/company that popularized these types of pages; recall hearing about his company years ago, after he died in a crash while racing on a track with his Ferrari club on the west coast of the US. (Update: Appears Corey Rudl was the guy's name, and his company was called "The Internet Marketing Center." Even with that info, I've still been unable to find the name for these type of pages.)

Does that company view unrestricted internet access as a benefit to their employees even if they might use it for non-work related reasons? If you can provide a link to back up this information, even better. (* I don't want to promote any specific publication, but they are easy enough to find.) My hypothesis is that a company that aspires to be one of the best needs to provide fairly unrestricted internet access and I'm trying to test it.

• How to convert a Bazaar repository to GIT repository?

  We have a large bazaar repository and we want to convert it to a git repository. The bazaar repository contains the folders of each of the interns. Any documentation/code prepared by interns is committed in their directory so there are a huge number of commits. What steps should be performed to securely convert the bazaar repository to a git repository so that we do not lose any commit information. We firstly need to create a backup of the existing bazaar repository and then convert it.   You may have noticed that Weblogic Server (WLS) 9.2.X and WLS 10.0.X releases have been removed from the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud. The Delivery Team has been asked to remove or update any product pack or product that embeds WLS 10.3.2 or earlier versions. This is consistent with general Oracle practice of removing old product versions from public distribution systems, and encourages customer usage and adoption of newer product releases such as WLS 10.3.3 or newer.  For the convenience of existing supported customers, a media request SR on My Oracle Support can be entered to obtain any removed media.  Information on how to open such an SR can be found on  MOS Doc ID 1071023.1 . OTN will also be reviewed and similar modifications may potentially be done.  The following media packs will be removed from E-Delivery this week, as of the above reason. • Is there a current tool to build your boot / partition on hard drive?

  I tried Windows 8 Consumer Preview a couple months ago and it wiped out my partition table... or the boot information. So now the machine cannot boot to anything at all. Is there Ubuntu tools or Linux tool that can fix all the partition and make them boot again? (The partitions have Windows 7 and Vista on them. I run Ubuntu as a VM on Win 7). I tried another tool running on Vista and was able to see the Win 7 partition, except that tool wiped out the Vista boot info later on.

• How to remove Launchpad app/webapp?

  I was browsing Launchpad and it asked to install a helper app. I thought that this was the Firefox extension so I said yes. Now I have this launcher app that will open a Firefox window directly to Launchpad from my unity dash. I want to remove it and I can't. I removed the Firefox extension and it's still there. I removed the Unity webapps Firefox extension and it's still there. I tried to purge "launchpad" and my system says that it doesn't exist. I searched Launchpad for information on this app but found nothing I could understand that seemed to be relevant. But it's still there, staring at me from the Unity dash. Can anyone help me get this thing out of my system? Running Ubuntu 13.10

• Should I use structure from a core library graphic toolkit in my domain?

  In java (and many other programming language), there are often structure to deal with graphic element : Colour, Shape, etc. Those are most often in a UI toolkit and thus have a relatively strong coupling with UI element. Now, in the domain of my application, we often deal with colour, shape, etc, to display statistic information on an element. Right now all we do with it is display/save those element with little or no behaviour. Would it make sense to avoid "reinventing the wheel" and directly use the structures in java.awt.* or should I make my own element and avoid a coupling to this toolkit? Its not like those element are going away anytime soon (they are part of the core java library after all), but at the same time it feel weird to import java.awt.* server side. I have no problem using java.util.List everywhere. Should I feel different about those class? What would be the "recommended" practice in that case?

  I tried to download Ubuntu 12.04 through Windows Installer (Wubi), but I get this error message: An error occurred: Could not retrieve the required disk image For more information, please see the log file: c:\user(username)\adddata\local\temp\wubi-12.04-rev266.log I tried to locate the file, but I can't find it, it's probably hidden. I know there's already a similar question asked, but I don't understand proxy thing Downloading error "Could not retrieve the required disk image " I was wondering will I get this same problem if I download via USB stick or CD? I'm running Windows 7 on a laptop. I'm not tech-savvy, so I need clear answer please.

• How do I connect a Nexus 7 to transfer files?

  I want to move some files from my PC to Nexus 7. The tablet is connected to my PC's USB port and it is successfully charging. Unfortunately, the PC is not detecting the devices - what I expected is to be shown the Nexus 7 tablet as external devices (like my USB flash memory). As the tablet is connected to the my home internet network, I have checked if it will appear in the "Networks" section but it does not. I am using Ubuntu 12.4 LTS. Is there a easy way to connect the devices to my PC and move some information between them?
