    Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codapage name (iso-8859-2 in this case). I've found a Win32 function called GetCPInfoEx, but that returns a long CodePage name, and I need the short one, like the ones listed on this page: (see Name column) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.text.encoding.aspx Thank you!

After a few searches on the we I tried downloading and running the sample the source here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc164067.aspx I get a compile error: error C2440: 'static_cast' : cannot convert from 'UINT (__thiscall CStaticLink::* )(CPoint)' to 'LRESULT (__thiscall CWnd::* )(CPoint)' 1 Cast from base to derived requires dynamic_cast or static_cast (VS 2008) The tooltips functionality seems to be a bit of a challenge. Any suggestions on how to get this working are much appreciated.

I have confirmed that I am including shobjidl.h (but I checked and this file only defines up to ITaskbarList2). I have Visual Studios 2008 (SP1) and I have Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 installed. Does anyone know what I am missing?

Google has the google contacts API for these purposes, does MSN publish a similar javascript API? Please note that I do not want to ask the user for their username/password like http://openinviter.com/ .   • Why do calls to waveOutGetPosition hang?

    I'm using the winmm.dll API method waveOutGetPosition to get the current position of the playback of a WAV file. Sometimes this works as expected for me, but eventually one of the calls never returns and my application locks up.     I read somewhere the you can't remove response headers once they've been added. Given that, I'm wondering where in a standard ASP.NET web forms application do response headers get added initially. For example, these: Date Fri, 23 Apr 2010 16:25:56 GMT Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By ASP.NET Cache-Control private And can I stop it from happening? Do subsequent headers override old headers? Does my question even make sense? Thanks.

    Tried to install some program, it gives above message requiring 1.1.4322. BUT as the title says, all the frameworks are already installed on my WinXP SP2, if i inspect C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\ The machine has VS2008 which essentially required full installtion of Framework 3.5 SP1. Any ideas? (i know, just re-install framework 1.1 again, but why should i - I can see all Frameworks are installed, and things are supposed to be backward compatible.

    I have two datagridviews. So for the second one, i just copy-pasted the code from the first and changed where the difference was. But i get an error at the secod data grid when i want to view the result of my sql code. Translated in english the error show something like that there was no value given to at least one required parameter.     I have Visual Studio 2005 and want to teach myself DirectX in my free time. I downloaded the latest Windows 7 and DirectX SDKs. According to Microsoft's website, the latest DirectX SDK is not compatible with Visual Studio 2005 (I assume they mean it's not compatible with the SDK it came with). Can I configure VS2005 to use the SDKs I downloaded instead of the SDK it came with? If so, is there anything I should be particularly careful with?
