  • WPF Using commands to slow to update UI controls

    Hi, I bind a command to a button through command property and doing a command binding in the page it is placed. In execute method I create an instance of a class that contains the background worker and I start it (this is a long task). The background worker (bw) class contains a variable isRunning that it is set to true before DoWork method is executed and to false when RunWorkerCompleted is executed. So from the code behind of the page where button is placed, in CanExecute method I set e.canExecute to true if bw is no running (isRunning = false), and e.canExecute to false if isRunning = true. WHen I press the button, it launch bw process for a long time and the button gets disabled. Ok this is correct, but when background worker (bw) finishes, the button doesn't returns to enabled until I press it again. When it is disabled and I press (when bw is finished) it gets enabled.   • General input/output error on OpenOffice 3.2

    I have been working on a research paper in OpenOffice 3.2 Word Processor and I had a slide show OpenOffice 3.2 Presentation. I saved both frequently and they were not very big (no more then 5 pages of text or a few slides). A few days after I last edited and saved them, I tried to open the slide show but I received window saying: General Error. General input/output error When I tried opening the paper, it asked for ASCII Filter Options (font, character, language, and paragraph break). When I set the normal settings, a single blank document opened with nothing on it. I looked at both of the file's properties and the size was 0 or 1.5 KB, and the volume was unknown. I recently installed some updates for Ubuntu 10.10 and everything else in my computer is working normally including other documents and slide shows. Is this a fixable crash?

  • Strange display language in gnome shell

    I logged in gnome-shell, and found that the display language is set to some strange asian language (I think) without my prompt. I tried to change the locale settings but found that the default language is English (how?) despite of that strange language. Here's a snapshot, See the strange word instead of "Activity": I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.   • Is it actually possible to programmatically manage the state of an FTP server in IIS7?

    I'm able to manage FTP sites via the IIS manager, however, all attempts so far to manage the state of FTP sites using other means have failed, including: Using the IIS7 API (Microsoft.Web.Administration) Using WMI (with IIS6 compatibility enabled) Using the AppCmd tool in System32\inetsrv Related questions: Why am I unable to get Site.State for an FTP site, when using Microsoft.Web.Administration? Are there any workarounds I haven't tried? My objective is to manage (start/stop/query the state of) the FTP sites with C# code (as you can see from the 3 above attempted workarounds). When querying the FTP server state using WMI, it returns code 4, which means "Stopped", even though the site is definitely shown as running in IIS manager. AppCmd is useless, as it returns "Unknown" for FTP sites: c:\Windows\System32\inetsrv>appcmd list site SITE "Default Web Site" (id:1,bindings:http/*:80:,state:Stopped) SITE "Default FTP Site" (id:2,bindings:ftp/*:21:,state:Unknown)

    Hi everyone, I'm trying to use the Visual Studio 2010 Express editions to set up an ASP.NET MVC 2 Web Application using SqlExpress + Entity Framework as the data access. I have both the "C# Edition" and "Web Developer Edition" installed. If I try to add a data source using the "C# edition", I'm missing the "Microsoft SQL Server" data source type. but Visual Studio 2008 Professional has it. as noted by another StackOverflow question, the "Web Developer Edition" has this. However, the Web Developer Edition doesn't support the Entity Framework items: . I'd want to stick with only the Express Editions. Is my use case one that Microsoft forgot about?     I need to build a DSL Solution using MsBuild and want to be able to transform the TT files, I have tried the guide on http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee847423(VS.100).aspx but I am getting the following errors: Failed to resolve include text for file:{0} and also Loading the include file '{0}' returned a null or empty string. There is a page on MSDN which has these issues and there resolutions : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb126242(VS.100).aspx but don't really give me enough information to resolve the issue. One thing to note in the error it has the following path: Error 72 Failed to resolve include text for file:C:\source\XXXXXXXX\Dsl\GeneratedCode\Dsl\ToolboxHelper.tt. Line=-1, Column=-1 Dsl but the location of the actual TT file is C:\source\XXXXXXXX\Dsl\GeneratedCode\ToolboxHelper.tt

Currently it looks like I'm using ubuntu: ~: lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 13.10 Release: 13.10 Codename: saucy There's not a single kubuntu word in my /etc/apt/sources.list, or is it Kubuntu = Ubuntu - Unity + KDE now? For example there's a Pre-Alpha Ubuntu Thar already, but no Kubuntu one. Would I get Kubuntu Thar, by installing Ubuntu Thar in the way mentioned above? Probably Kubuntu team now are the guys responsible for KDE working in Ubuntu.

    I have about 160 SSIS packages that I'm trying to upgrade from 2005 to 2008. When I run SSISUpgrade.exe on them, I get the following error messages on many of the packages: Error 0xc0209303: ...: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDB_NOPROVIDER_64BIT_ERROR. The requested OLE DB provider MICROSOFT.JET.OLEDB.4.0 is not registered -- perhaps no 64-bit provider is available. enter code here`Error code: 0x00000000. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Service Components" Hresult: 0x80040154 Description: "Class not registered". This fellow says that to fix this I need to set the run64bitruntime debugging property to False. However each of these packages exists outside of a project file. How can I set this property without having a project file?

Our designer argues that he is not responsible to log-in to word press and modify the css or use ftp for any changes because that's not his job description while developer argues that since it is css, it belongs to designer and that he is to update the changes to the server and then compare and correct the output.     I went to http://www.asp.net/mvc/ to try to install ASP.NET MVC. I didn't know, but MVC is now at version 2. There's a nifty thing called the Microsoft "Web Platform Installer" (WPI) which basically is a small installer-driver tool that presents a menu of things I might want to install, to do web things on Windows. On the menu are things like ASPNET MVC2, but also Drupal, PHP, Joomla, and a bunch of other things. From http://www.asp.net/mvc/, when I click on the link that says "Install MVC", it resolves to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=185037, which then pops up the WPI. But Then! I get an error dialog that reads "Installing ASPNET MVC2 requires VS2008 SP1". But I know that I have VS2008 SP1. What gives?
