  • How to pass associative Array parameter from javascript to ActiveX object?

    - by Rory
    I'd like to pass an associative array (or simply an object with property names & values) to my ActiveXObject. I can't find anyone who has successfully and simply passed complex data from javascript to an ActiveX object. My ActiveX object is being loaded in IE, and it's mine so I can change the method signature & code to whatever will work. I also have control over the structure of the javascript. Without a simple way of doing this I'm thinking of url-encoding the data and sending it as a string. But that does seem a little silly if it's possible just to pass an object. The ActiveX object is coded in C# if that makes any difference...

  • c++ / c confusion

    - by mrbuxley
    Im trying to make a small app in c++ that saves midifiles with this library. http://musicnote.sourceforge.net/docs/html/index.html The sample code that is given on the homepage looks like this. #include "MusicNoteLib.h" void main() { MusicNoteLib::Player player; // Create the Player Object player.Play("C D E F G A B"); // Play the Music Notes on the default MIDI output port } This piece of code won't compile in Visual studio 2008, I get many errors like MusicNoteLib.h(22) : error C4430: missing type specifier - int assumed. Note: C++ does not support default-int I don't understand the error or where to start looking... There also was some dll files that can be used instead of this h file. #ifndef __MUSICNOTE_LIB_H__EBEE094C_FF6E_43a1_A6CE_D619564F9C6A__ #define __MUSICNOTE_LIB_H__EBEE094C_FF6E_43a1_A6CE_D619564F9C6A__ /** @file MusicNoteLib.h * \brief Main header file for accessing the MusicNote Library */ /// <Summary> /// This header file can be included directly in your project or through /// MusicNoteLib.h of the MusicNoteDll project. • php with two class

    - by lolalola
    Hi Guys, my sample is good or not? I have a good connection to the database, or too should be in the class? Thanks <?php mysql_connect('localhost','root','admin'); mysql_select_db('test'); class UserDisplay { function getDisplayName() { $sql = 'select first_name, last_name, display_name from users where user_id = "3"'; $results = mysql_query($sql); $row = mysql_fetch_array($results); $this->user_id = $user_id; return $this->user_id; } } class UserInsert function InsertName($name) { mysql_query("INSERT INTO Persons (first_name)VALUES ('".$name."')"); } } $userD = new UserDisplay(); echo "User known as: " . $userD->getDisplayName() . "\n"; $userI = new UserInsert(); $userI->InsertName("Peter"); ?>

  • Why does my array initialization code cause a StackOverflowException to be thrown?

    - by MCS
    The following line of code in my class constructor is throwing a StackOverflowException: myList = new string[]{}; // myList is a property of type string[] Why is that happening? And what's the proper way to initialize an empty array? UPDATE: The cause was in the set method, in which I was attempting to trim all values. What's wrong with this code: set { for (int i = 0; i < myList.Length; i++) { if (myList[i] != null) myList[i] = myList[i].Trim(); } }

  • Is it possible to use an input within a <label> field?

    - by javanix
    I have a bunch of optional "write-in" values for a survey I'm working on. These are basically a radio button with a textbox within the answer field - the idea being that you would toggle the button and write something into the box. What I'd like to do is have the radio button toggled whenever a user clicks in the text field - this seems like a use-case that makes a lot of sense. Doing this: <input type="radio" id="radiobutton"><label for="radiobutton">Other: <input type="text" id="radiobutton_other"></label> works fine in Chrome (and I am guessing, other WebKit browsers as well), but there are weird selection issues in Firefox, so I'm assuming its a non-standard practice that I should stay away from. Is there a way to replicate this functionality without using JavaScript? I have an onclick function that will work, but we're trying to make our site usable for people who might have NoScript-type stuff running.

  • What preferred way to reconcile keyCode/charCode across browsers?

    - by Drew Turner
    Based on the properties of the keydown event I would like to ascertain what the current charCode are? Example. For the keydown event when the NumPad0, D0, and Colon key is pressed I would like to know what the associated charcode is. Currently I have a map that contains the charcode associated with that keyCode or use the current if charCode is not specified. keyCode = { Colon: 186, D0: 48, NumPad0: 96, }; charCodes = { 186: 59, 96: 48, }; shiftCharCodes = { 186: 58, 48: 41 }; Also in certain cases the keyCodes are different accross browsers? Example. The keydown event has different keyCode values across browsers. Colon Key (:/;) - keyCode is 59 on firefox - keyCode is 186 on IE/safari For more information http://www.quirksmode.org/js/keys.html

  • How can I request local pages in the background of an ASP.NET MVC app?

    - by flipdoubt
    My ASP.NET MVC app needs to run a set of tasks at startup and in the background at a regular interval. I have implemented each task as a controller action and listed the app-relative path to the action in the database. I implemented a TaskRunner process that gets the urls from the database and requests each one at a regular interval using WebRequest.Create, but this throws a UriFormatException. I cannot use this answer or any code that plucks values from HttpContext.Current.Request without getting an HttpException with the message "Request is not available in this context". The Request object is not available because my code uses System.Threading.Timer to do background processing, as recommended here. Here are my questions: Is there really no way to make local web requests within an ASP.NET web app? Is there really no way to dynamically ascertain the root path to the web app even using static dependencies in ASP.NET? I was trying to avoid storing the app's root path in the database (as FogBugz does with its "Maintenance Path"), but is this best option?

  • Worked Example of Digital Signature Algorithm

    - by drelihan
    Hi Folks, Does anybody have a DSA worked example with simple values on how to calculate r,s and verify v == r. As this standard has been around awhile and is implemented in librarys e.g. the Java Cryptography Extension I'm finding it very hard to find an example of how the algorithm works. Compute r=(gk mod p) mod q Compute s=(k-1 * (x * r + i)) mod q Verifying a signature; again i is the input, and (r,s) is the signature. u1 = (s-1 * i) mod q u2 = (s-1 * r) mod q v = ((gu1 * yu2) mod p) mod q If v equals r, the signature is valid. Thanks,

  • BindableAttribute, Combobox, Selectedvalue property - WinForms

    - by user63891
    I am deriving from combobox (WinForms) and am providing a new implementation for the Selectedvalue property. It works fine as is, but any change to the selectedvalue property is not updating other controls bound to the same "binding context" to change their values accordingly. I did try adding the BindableAttribute(true) to the property, but still it does nottrigger the change in value to the other linked controls. The control's DataBindings.add(...) is all set up. And other controls are also bound to the same data filed on the same datasource. Any ideas what i am doing wrong.

  • what is the pattern for modifying a collection in C#

    - by macias
    What is the pattern (best practice) for such problem -- modifying elements (values) in collection? Conditions: size of the collection is not changed (no element is deleted or added) modification is in-place In C++ it was easy and nice, I just iterated trough a collection and changed the elements. But in C# iterating (using enumerator) is read-only operation (speaking in terms of C++, only const_iterator is available). So, how to do this in C#? Example: having sequence of "1,2,3,4" modification is changing it to "1, 2, 8, 9" but not "1, 2, 3" or "1, 2, 3, 4, 5".

  • "painting" one array onto another using python / numpy

    - by Nate
    I'm writing a library to process gaze tracking in Python, and I'm rather new to the whole numpy / scipy world. Essentially, I'm looking to take an array of (x,y) values in time and "paint" some shape onto a canvas at those coordinates. For example, the shape might be a blurred circle. The operation I have in mind is more or less identical to using the paintbrush tool in Photoshop. I've got an interative algorithm that trims my "paintbrush" to be within the bounds of my image and adds each point to an accumulator image, but it's slow(!), and it seems like there's probably a fundamentally easier way to do this. Any pointers as to where to start looking?

  • Top x rows and group by (again)

    - by Tibor Szasz
    Hello, I know it's a frequent question but I just can't figure it out and the examples I found didn't helped. What I learned, the best strategy is to try to find the top and bottom values of the top range and then select the rest, but implementing is a bit tricky. Example table: id | title | group_id | votes I'd like to get the top 3 voted rows from the table, for each group. I'm expecting this result: 91 | hello1 | 1 | 10 28 | hello2 | 1 | 9 73 | hello3 | 1 | 8 84 | hello4 | 2 | 456 58 | hello5 | 2 | 11 56 | hello6 | 2 | 0 17 | hello7 | 3 | 50 78 | hello8 | 3 | 9 99 | hello9 | 3 | 1 I've fond complex queries and examples, but they didn't really helped.

  • Dashcode Web App: How to programmatically manipulate bound array in dataSource?

    - by Kross
    Hi Everyone, I've started using Dashcode to write an interface for presenting the report data for some of our Cocoa tools. I am using a Dashcode data source and bindings to populate the elements in the WebView, and it all seems to be working well so far. One of the objects in my dataSource is an array of objects that I would like to manipulate programmatically. I can change the object values in the array just fine but if I want to replace the array, or any objects in the array, my bound table isn't able to observe the added objects. Here is the code that I thought would let me easily replace the bound array with new content: var dataSource = dashcode.getDataSource("reportData"); var newDetailArray = testArray(); dataSource.setValueForKeyPath(newDetailArray, "content.detailArray"); But this throws the exception: Exception while binding "content" to keypath "arrangedObjects " TypeError: Result of expression 'this.object.valueForKeyPath' [undefined] is not a function. Is there something I'm missing that will let me easily manipulate the array's contents programmatically?

  • IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) fails due to IE settings

    - by srirambalaji-s
    We have a .Net application that is used for editing/rendering customized HTML documents. It is hosted in IE using the AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser controls. We proceed with navigating to "about:blank" page initially then we change the Document by writing our custom values into it. The problem we are facing is the call to IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) is failing if we don't enable the IE Security Settings in the Internet Security zone (Scripting-Allow Programmatic Access to Clipboard ). In order to bypass the security setting ,I tried to point to a local html file initially while navigating. But this fails as soon as I modify the Document. I want to use the IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) command so that I can customize our Copy/Paste operations. Is there any other way I can do this. Please share your ideas inorder to overcome this situation. Thanks. Sriram

  • Multiple LIKE in SQL

    - by ninumedia
    I wanted to search through multiple rows and obtain the row that contains a particular item. The table in mySQL is setup so each id has a unique list (comma-delimited) of values per row. Ex: id | order 1 | 1,3,8,19,34,2,38 2 | 4,7,2,190,38 Now if I wanted to pull the row that contained just the number 19 how would I go about doing this? The possibilities I could figure in the list with a LIKE condition would be: 19, ,19 ,19, I tried the following and I cannot obtain any results, Thank you for your help! SELECT * FROM categories WHERE order LIKE '19,%' OR '%,19%' OR '%,19%' LIMIT 0 , 30

  • Write a GreaseMonkey script that reacts to domain strings (for I18N, e.g. cn,en,fr,etc.)

    - by Shizhidi
    Hello. Suppose there is a website that supports multiple languages: cn.mydomain.com or mydomain.com/cn or mydomain.cn en.mydomain.com or mydomain.com/en or mydomain.com fr.mydomain.com or mydomain.com/fr or mydomain.fr I want to write a GreaseMonkey script that has variables assigned different strings/values according to the address the user is loading the page from. How do you do that? Thanks EDIT: I realize I can just use JavaScript to get the address. Does GreaseMonkey itself support this kind of function?

  • Scrolling a Div programatically using say Javascript

    - by SARAVAN
    Hi I have a jqgrid which is embedded in a Div. I am deleting records from the grid and reloading the grid using grid.Trigger('reload'). The width of the grid is considerably high so it has a scroll bar. Now I scrolled through the end of the grid horizontally before deleting records. Each time I delete the records and reload the grid, the column headers and their values are slightly misaligned. When I move the scroll bar back to original position or just move the scroll bar slightly they are aligned properly. So I thought its better to move the scroll bar to its inital position when the grid reloads. How can a scroll bar be programatically moved using javascript. Or is there any other way to solve my problem?

  • programming question about numbers

    - by Syom
    it's a task, on which i think during whole day. i have four integer numbers a, b, c, d, and ineger x[1,40]. i must write a program, which can find the values of {a,b,c,d}, for which one of following equations is true for any (x<=40, x=1) x=a or x=b or x=a+b or x=a+b+c+d or x+a=c+d or x+a+b=c+d or ... x+a+b+c=d or ... it is very difficult to explain what i want to say. maybe the example will be helpful. example: if x=17, by {a=1,b=2,c=5,d=15} i can write x+a+b=c+d whole question is to present any x[1,40] by {a,b,c,d}. hope that you understand what i want to say, and thanks in advance

  • Do breakpoints introduce delay?

    - by kamilo
    How is that setting a breakpoint in my code allows the following code to complete which would fail otherwise. Here is the problem. I'm writing an add-on for SAP B1 and encountered following problem. When I load a form I would like to enter some values into the form' matrix. But without a breakpoint (set on a method in which loading a form takes place) the part of code that is executed afterward will fail. That part of code is referencing a matrix that is not yet displayed which results in an exception. This is all clear. But why setting a breakpoint "solves" the problem. What is going on? I suspect that my breakpoint introduces some delay between loading and displaying my form and part of code that references element of that form but I could be wrong.

  • StringBuilder related question

    - by Sef
    I have written a program for a stack. (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2617367?tab=votes#tab-top) For this i needed a StringBuilder to be able to show me what was in the stack else i would get the class name instead of the actual values inside. My question is there any other way except for a StringBuilder for such kind of problem? Also in what other kind of cases does this kind of problem happen? Also the way i have written the StringBuilder felt very awkward when i needed several things on 1 line. public override string ToString() { StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder(); foreach (int value in tabel) { builder.Append(value); builder.Append(" "); } if (tabel.Length == tabel.Length) // this is a bit messy, since I couldn't append after the rest above { builder.Append("(top:"); builder.Append(top); builder.Append(")"); } return builder.ToString(); }/*ToString*/

  • How to use DML on Oracle temporary table without generating much undo log

    - by Sambath
    Hi, Using an Oracle temporary table does not generate much redo log as a normal table. However, the undo log is still generated. Thus, how can I write insert, update, or delete statement on a temporary table but Oracle will not generate undo log or generate as little as possible? Moreover, using /+append/ in the insert statement will generate little undo log. Am I correct? If not, could anyone explain me about using the hint /+append/? INSERT /*+APPEND*/ INTO table1(...) VALUES(...); Thank you.

  • Programatically WPF Fade In (via extension methods)

    - by Dinis Cruz
    I'm trying to write a simple (stand alone) C# extension method to do a Fade-In of a generic WPF UIElement, but the solutions (and code samples) that I found all contain a large number of moving parts (like setting up a story, etc...) For reference here is an example of the type of API method I would like to create. This code will rotate an UIElement according to the values provided (fromValue, toValue, duration and loop) public static T rotate<T>(this T uiElement, double fromValue, double toValue, int durationInSeconds, bool loopAnimation) where T : UIElement { return (T)uiElement.wpfInvoke( ()=>{ DoubleAnimation doubleAnimation = new DoubleAnimation(fromValue, toValue, new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(durationInSeconds))); RotateTransform rotateTransform = new RotateTransform(); uiElement.RenderTransform = rotateTransform; uiElement.RenderTransformOrigin = new System.Windows.Point(0.5, 0.5); if (loopAnimation) doubleAnimation.RepeatBehavior = RepeatBehavior.Forever; rotateTransform.BeginAnimation(RotateTransform.AngleProperty, doubleAnimation); return uiElement; }); }

  • how to return the current object?

    - by ajsie
    in code igniter you can type: $query = $this->db->query("YOUR QUERY"); foreach ($query->result() as $row) { echo $row->title; echo $row->name; echo $row->body; } i guess that the query method returns the object it's part of. am i correct? if i am, how do you type the line where it returns the object? so what i wonder is how it looks like inside the query method for the above code to be functional. public function query($sql) { // some db logic here with the $sql and saves the values to the properties (title, name and body) return X } with other words, what should X be?

  • Better method for flipping multidimensional array?

    - by sudowned
    I've retrieved some data from the database, which is in the following structure: [0] [item_id] = 197 [dice_chat_css] = "foo" [dice_image] = "bar.png" [1] [item_id] = 128 [dice_chat_css] = "foo" [dice_image] = "bar.png" The most convenient and computationally inexpensive way for me to pass this data to the rest of my (PHP) application is with item_id as the index, because it saves having to loop over the array to look up values. If this was a flat array, I could accomplish this trivially with array_flip, but since it isn't, it's my pick of using either the multidimensional array_flip listed in the comments on PHP.net, or roll my own logic: for ($i = 0; $i < sizeOf($r); $i++){ $s[$r[$i]['item_id']]['dice_image'] = $r[$i]['dice_image']; $s[$r[$i]['item_id']]['dice_chat_css'] = $r[$i]['dice_chat_css']; } I know it's simple, but it feels like I'm reinventing the wheel here. Is there an accepted, more optimized method available or am I being weird about this?

  • jQuery.param() - doesn't serialize javascript Date objects?

    - by ehahn9
    jQuery.param({foo: 1}); // => "foo=1" - SUCCESS! jQuery.param({bar: new Date()}); // => "" - OUCH! There is no problem with encodeURIComponent(new Date()), which is what I would have thought param is calling for each member. Also, explicitly using "traditional" param (e.g. jQuery.param(xxx, true)) DOES serialize the date, but alas, that isn't of much help since my data structure isn't flat. Is this because typeof(Date) == "object" and param tries to descend into it to find scalar values? How might one realistically serialize an object that happens to have Date's in it for $.post() etc.?
