• How can I get vimperator to scroll more than one line using the j and k keys?

  I've tried using the following: :map j 3j When I do this and reload the .vimperatorrc file, it actually starts zooming in the page I'm on. The funny thing is, if I type 3j on a page without any mapping, it works. I'm using Vimperator 2.3.1 with Firefox 3.6.3. Am I missing something? Thanks!

• Don't Change URL in Browser When Clicking <asp:LinkButton>

  I have an ASP.NET page that uses a menu based on asp:LinkButton control in a Master page. When a user selects a menu item, an onclick handler calls a method in my C# code. The method it calls just does a Server.Transfer() to a new page. From what I have read, this is not supposed to change the URL displayed in the browser. The problem is it that the URL changes in the browser as the user navigates the menu to different pages. Here is an item in the menu: <asp:LinkButton id="foo" runat="server" onclick="changeToHelp"><span>Help</span> </asp:LinkButton> In my C# code, I handle the event with a method like: protected void changeToHelp(object sender, EventArgs e) { Server.Transfer("Help.aspx"); } Any ideas how I can navigate through the menu without the browser's URL bar changing?

  I am trying to port my usage meter from a JavaScript Gadget (win) / Widget (OSX) to Android. Total newbie when comes to JAVA + Eclipse + Android 2.1 SDK. Essentially what I want to do is load a page, pass through a username and password and load the resulting page into a array that I can then run some regular expressions through.   When asking IE to save an HTML page locally, with the option "Web page, complete", an html file is created along with a folder that contains all associated files (images, js, css etc). An association is created between the html file and the folder, so that when the file is deleted/moved, so is the folder. First, I'd like to know what this kind of association is called. Further, I'd like to know how to "unlink" this file-folder association.

• Flash player 11.4 hungs firefox immediatly after start

  I have installed Flash player 11.4.402.287 on a "fresh" PC, moments after installing Windows, drivers, directX etc. After installing Flash Player Firefox totally hungs immediatly after run. First page (adobe page, because it was launched before closing firefox) doen't load. I see new tab but FF goes hung to zero-responsivity, even loading icon stops in single position. KMPlayer, wich uses firefox also hungs. How to solve this issue ?

• asp.net mvc script and style references

  I'm trying to include script and style references that will not break on deployment, however I can not even get the references to work locally. I have tried using Url.Content() and MVCContrib's <%=Html.ScriptInclude("")%>. My scripts are in a Scripts folder on the root of the site; my styles are in the usual Content/css/ folder. The scripts render like this: <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/MicrosoftAjax.debug.js" ></script> This will not work in a view page in the Views folder. What am I doing wrong and what is the best way to handle this? I would have thought Url.Content() would at least work for styles but used in my master page, the link rendered <link href="/Content/css/Site.css rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> This does not work, because the Master Page is in a Shared folder, so what is really the way forward with this?

• Intercepting static and dynamic links using javascript

  Hi, I'm currently developing an ajax application and I'm looking for a feature that lets me intercept all static and dynamic links using javascript. The links look like these: <a href="link1/">link 1</a> <a href="link2/">link 2</a> etc. I then want the browser to redirect to: current.page/#link1/ rather than current.page/link1/. I'm using jQuery, so the live() function is an option, however using that as a solution just seems rather sluggish to me(am I hysterical?). If there is a way to intercept ALL links on a page, maybe through detecting a change in the address, that would greatly help. I've tried a few plugins for jQuery (jQuery address & SWFaddress) but they only seem to have event handlers that respond to changes in anchor tags in the address. Any ideas? thanks for your time

• Rails is caching when I don't want it to. Why?

  Rails is caching the index method of one of my controllers. It's a very simple application and only has like 2 controllers and a handful of actions each. The weird thing is I don't have any caching in my application at all, at least not explicitly. The pages get uncached if I restart passenger. Does rails do some kind of automatic page caching? There are no files in the public directory The page is returning a 200 header I have no caching blocks in my views (I use haml, if that matters) I have no action, controller, or page caching defined The request is hitting rails, verified by the production log I have the following in my production.rb: config.cache_classes = true config.action_controller.consider_all_requests_local = false config.action_controller.perform_caching = true config.action_view.cache_template_loading = true

• Execute a dll function in ASP.Net Bin not working, II7.

  I am developing a remote control application where a client (aspx page in a browser) can request a server to "launch a notepad" (for testing purpose, for real life, turning off a light bulb, etc). So I created a dll with a simple function for launching the notepad (on the server side) and dropped this dll in the root bin folder. It worked fine when the aspx page is running under ASP.NET development server (launched from Visual Studio). But when I tested the same aspx page under a FireFox browser, it did not work (launch the notepad) even though it did call for the same function (I stepped through in debugger). Is this a permission issue? How do I set this up in IIS manager, or even better in web.config? Please help.

• JSP Problem ussing implicit object (session) in a function

  Can the object of type HttpSession called session be accessed from a function? In a simple jsp page I have a function(see below) defined in the header of the page, and set to an onclick handle of for a button. When I press this button, I'll never see the second alert message. If I do something in the body of the page (like Session ID: <%= session.getId() % ) I have no trouble accessing it. • any way to use ajax with jstl customtags without duplicating tags in javascript?

  I am working on a page where part of the content is loaded normally and the pages are rendered using jsps. The product images and links generated on that page are by custom jstl tags. When the user scrolls more products are requested from the server in a JSON response and then using UnderscoreJS templates they are rendered and added to the bottom of the page. Is there any way I can use the JSTL tags in Javascript without recreating them using a javascript function (it won't be possible to re-create all of them in javascript). What is the best way to handle this scenario? I guess I could return a rendered html response for the ajax call, but that would mean I have some ajax requests which use json and some that use rendered html...

• Do you have problems with fonts in FireFox on big screens ??

  The problem is only in FF on bigger screens than 17" ,sometimes bigger than 22" monitors . I don't know why this happens, usually the problem is reported on windows vista and windows 7. • keyboard in UIWebView shows and then hides itself on input focus

  I have a page that's loading into a UIWebView (which takes 100% of the screen) on an iPad. When I touch a text field, the page positions the text field to the right place and the keyboard starts to come up, but then it turns around and goes back down and blur is called on the input field. When I try this same page in mobile Safari, the keyboard is able to deploy successfully. I can't figure out what the rules are for the keyboard to show successfully and stay up = and why this is different for uiwebview than safari. All my research on the subject has yielded no answers.

• Delphi : Restore a pre-design tabsheet after user has closed it...

  Hello, I have a tPageControl on a form, and have made a nice 'welcome page' as a new ttabsheet at design time for the user to start off with. However, if the user closes this tab, I would like the option to bring it back, as it was in originally (much like the welcome page in the Delphi IDE). This seems like a simple problem... When the tab closes, the original sheet is freed and set nil. I tried creating the sheet again by name (e.g. tabsheet1 := ttabsheet.create) and assigning it to the pagecontrol, but none of the original components from the sheet are there anymore... I know designing the welcome page as a separate form, creating it when I need it and slapping it into a new tabsheet would work... but I was just wondering if there was a way to do it with the design time tabsheet.   I am creating an online experiment. It involves participants watching a video then answering a questionnaire. I would like to embed a chromeless youtube video which plays automatically on page load, does not have controls for participants to play around with, and loads the next page once the video finishes. Now the autoplay/forward to next page functions are secondary and I'm not too concerned if I can't get them working. However I am very interested in how to embed a chromeless player. I have gone to the google playground but this code already has the controls attached. • ASP.net Treeview/Listview combination or alternative: Tutorials? Help?

  I need to create an ASP.net page that has a control on the page that has a five-level TreeView on the left side of the page, and accounting balances on the right side the coincide with each breakdown in the tree. Top level is company, next is group, next is program, etc... and the balances break down accordingly. I've seen that there are controls out there such as TreeView/ListView combination controls that can do this. Is there any tutorials or help out there on how to go about accomplishing this without paying for controls? Could a treeview do this alone by spanning data across the entire length of the columns since every level will have totals on it?

Maybe the lib is writing the messages to a thread-unsafe buffer before writing them to file?

• changing window.location without triggering refresh

  I have an AJAX form that submits GET requests. Because these are all GET requests these should be easily bookmark-able. Preferably I'd make my Ajax request, update the screen and then update window.location.href to be the URL for the new page. Unfortunately this reloads the page. Is there any way I can get around this? Basically I'd like the URL bar to be a permalink bar, but it needs to be able to change to keep up with the state of the page. window.location.hash is no good because that doesn't get sent to the server.
