    Hey Everyone, I am receiving this error: Requires a valid user is specified (either via the session or via the API parameter for specifying the user. when I am trying to utilize Facebook's FB.api with JS SDK for method: users.hasAppPermission I am constantly receiving this error, for any uid I pass on.     I wrote a shell method in CakePHP 1.3 that has a return value. I'd like to be able to access that method from within a controller, so that I can pass its return value into the View. I'm not sure how to access those methods appropriately from within the controller. Have I done it wrong? I could easily duplicate the code, but I'd like to "keep it DRY", and the actual functionality, I believe, doesn't belong with this particular controller - I just need it's return value in this particular view.

    Hello, I want to create a new customevent log ( "My EeventLog") on a remote machine. createEventSource(String,String,String) method was perferct for my need. Unfortenatly, this method is Obsolete. My questions is: the two other alternatives don't allow evenlog creation over a remote machine (correct me if I'm wrong). http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.diagnostics.eventlog.createeventsource.aspx So, my easiest way to do it- is be created a new exe and run it remotely with Psexe. right?     I was trying to make a Duel Masters card game in Java using BlueJ, and came up with a lot of ideas. However, I could not exactly figure out how to sort a deck on basis of the card names in the game. I have an array of Card objects(each has, as its instance variables: String name, int cost, int civ), and I want to sort them based on name. ie: if I have the cards "Pyrofighter Magnus", "Bazagazeal Dragon" and another "Pyrofighter Magnus" in the array, the cards should be sorted on basis of their names. I know that I could use compareTo(), but is there an easier method? Anyone? Remember, the method that sorts the cards should be a modifier.

  • Java Authenticator on a per connection basis?

    I'm building an Eclipse plugin that talks to a REST interface which uses Basic Authentication. When the authentication fails I would like to popup my plugin's settings dialog and retry. Normally I could use the static Authenticator.setDefault() to setup an authenticator for all HttpURLConnection's for this, but since I am writing a plugin I don't want to overwrite Eclipse's default Authenticator (org.eclipse.ui.internal.net.auth); I thought of setting my custom Authenticator before loading and putting Eclipse's default back afterwards, but I imagine this will cause all sorts of race issues with multithreading so I quickly lost that notion. Google searches yield all sorts of results basically telling me it's not possible: The Java URLConnection API should have a setAuthenticator(Authenticator) method for making it easier to use this class in multi-threaded context where authentication is required. Source If applications contains few third party plugins and each plugin use its own Authenticator what we should do? Each invocation of "Authenticator.setDefault()" method rewrite previously defined Authenticator... Source Are there any different approaches that might help me overcome this issue?

Is using method (1) bad? What are the major differences? Is there any instances where you would want to use (1)? Is there a performance difference? P.S. I have searched extensively on Stack Overflow and while there are questions on the same topic, none of them have answers to the questions I have posted above.

But if I remove the @Transactional(readOnly = false) on doDelete method deletion stops working, Saving works with and without the method annotation. So my question is: WHY?

    I was trying make an AJAX call from a static file on my computer to a simple sinatra service. The ajax call was returning with an error and no details. The server logged no errors either. Another strange symptom was that the Origin in the request header was null. I turns out that you can't make cross domain ajax calls without a little extra effort. You can set the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header on your sinatra response to expose your service to external domains using a snippet like this: get '/hi' do response['Access-Control-Allow-Origin'] = '*' content_type 'text/plain' "Hello World" end There's also another header you can set to allow other HTTP Methods besides gets, Access-Control-Request-Method. You can find more information by searching around for CORS: Cross Origin Resource Sharing and the previously mentioned headers. Oh, and in case you want to do this in Rails as well you can do something like this in your controller: after_filter :set_access_control_headers def set_access_control_headers headers['Access-Control-Allow-Origin'] = '*' headers['Access-Control-Request-Method'] = '*' end

It works perfectly on my code, but I don't have any idea how to set the initial current screen to second or third screen. the method setCurrentScreen(int) doesn't affect anything and if I change the for loop inside the onLayout() method from for (int i = 0; i < count; i++) {...} into for (int i = 1; i < count; i++){...} It does starts in page two, but you can't go to page one. Any idea how to start on page two?

    I know there are "instance methods", "class methods" but what are these types of methods called, for eg: s1 = "This is my STRING!" def s1.m1 downcase end p s1 # => "This is my STRING!" p s1.m1 # => "this is my string!" What type of method is the "m1" method called on the s1 "instance" of the "string" class? It's really weird because I didn't know this was possible at all if I try: s2 = "This is ANOTHER string" s2.m1 # => Won't work! Which kind of makes sense, but not sure why defining methods like m1 on instances on a class are useful at all.

    Hello, I want to allow users to type the name of any .txt file to be read/written. I can imagine its because C needs "filename.txt" for it work ... even if I enter for example : "custom.txt", the program returns an error of "Storage block not big enough for this operation" What is the correct method to accomplish this ? I want to find the "root Foo" records - that is, the ones where their name do not appear in the bar records of any other Foo records.   • Searching for URL's Relative to Site Root in Javascript Source

    Hi, I am working on a web site with several other developers and we have had problems where people commit JavaScript code with AJAX calls that use URL's relative to the site root. An example would be /Home/Index which will not work if the site is hosted in a virtual directory. To get round the problem we use a $.url() method to convert it to a full path, e.g. $("#container").load($.url("/Home/Index")) I am trying to write a unit test that will search each JavaScript file and find places where the $.url method is not being used. The only problem is that I cannot seem to write a regex expression to do this. I have tried the following: (?!\$\.url\()"(/\w*)+" But this does not work. I cannot find a way to say that I don't want the $.url in front. Does anyone know if this is possible? Note that I need regular expressions that are compatible with .NET Thanks.
