• Same domain only : smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 530-'SMTP authentication is required

  I have a very strange problem after moving my netwave.be domain from WebHost4Life to Arvixe. I configured several email adresses, like [email protected] and [email protected]. For POP3 I can use mail.netwave.be, a mailserver hosted by Arvixe. However, for SMTP I have to use relay.skynet.be. Skynet (Belgacom) is one of the biggest internet providers in Belgium and blocks smtp requests to external mailservers. So for years I've been using relay.skynet.be to send my messages using [email protected] as the sender. The worked perfectly. After moving my domain to Arvixe, this is no longer the case. I can send emails to people, no problem. I have received emails too, so I suspect that's ok too. But I can't send emails from one user of my domain to another user. For example, if I send a mail from [email protected] to [email protected], relay.skynet.be picks up the mail just fine. A few seconds later, I get a 'Delivery Status Notification (Failure)' mail that contains: Reporting-MTA: dns; mailrelay012.isp.belgacom.be Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected] Action: failed Status: 5.0.0 (permanent failure) Remote-MTA: dns; [69.72.141.4] Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 530-'SMTP authentication is required.' (delivery attempts: 0) Like I said, this only seems to be the case when both the sender and recipient are adresses of a domain hosted by Arvixe. I have serveral accounts not related to Arvixe at all. I can use relay.skynet.be to send mail to [email protected] using these accounts. Likewise, I can use relay.skynet.be to send mail from [email protected] to these accounts. but not from one Arvixe account to another. I hope I have clearly outlined the problem and someone will be able to help me.

• Active Directory FRS problems. 13508 error and other problems

  I have 3 Domain Controllers. We will call them DC1, DC2 and DC3. DC3 and DC2 show Event ID 13508 in their FRS logs with no follow-up event(13509 I think) to say the error had been fixed. DC1's FRS log no matter what you do never shows any events besides FRS service stopped and started. DC1 holds the SYSVOL that needs to be replicated to the other DC's. The other DC's sysvol folders are empty. I have tried the burflag method of fixing this but I haven't had any luck. My procedure for that was to stop all FRS services on all DC's. Then set the burflag on DC1 to D4 and the other two DCs burflag to D2. Started FRS on DC1 and the only event's I see in DC1's FRS event logs are service stopped and service started messages. This fact is leading me to believe that something is wrong on FRS for DC1. I believe there should be events 13553 and 13516 in the FRS event logs after an authoritative sysvol restore. The other two DC's do not have anything in their SYSVOL, otherwise I would have made one of them the authoritative sysvol. DC1 is MS Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 DC2 is MS Server 2003 Standard Edition SP1 DC3 is MS Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2 I did not setup this domain originally but I am now the administrator of it, so I don't have a lot of background on why certain things may have been done in the past. My main goal is to try and fix these issues to get myself better prepared to decommision DC1 and add a DC running Server 2008 to my domain. Thanks.

• DPM server 2010 Attach agent error : administrator privileges missing?

  Hello, I’m hoping you would be able to help me out with this little problem I’m having. I installed DPM 2010 in our test environment to test backups on Exchange 2010 servers. The environment includes : 1xDC 2x Exchange Server 2010 1x DPM 2010 server All of these are running on Microsoft server 2008 R2 Virtual machines. The host machines are using Hyper-v. So the problem goes like this : 1- I tried to install the agents from the DPM server GUI, which failed saying I didn’t have the correct permissions. 2- So then I tried the manual installation using the commands from : the Microsoft site http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb870935.aspx 3- The agent installation worked but when I get to attaching the agents to the DPM server it still gives me the error saying that the specified account does not have administrator rights. 4- I tried the Domain admin, users who are domain admin + local admin, single local admins. 5- I have turned off the windows firewall and made sure all the services are running. So now I’m out of ideas and really need help, the agent attach to the DPM server is the last thing that is holding me back from deploying everything to the production site. Any help would be really appreciated.

• Apache2: 400 Bad Reqeust with Rewrite Rules, nothing in error log?

I looked in both /private/var/log/apache2/error_log and /private/var/log/apache2/lobster_error, and neither records ANY message relating to the 400. I have LogLevel set to debug in /private/etc/apache2/http.conf. Removing the rewrite rules gets rid of the error, but these same rules work on my MAMP host. I've double-checked and rewrite_module is loaded in my default Apache installation. My http.conf can be found here: https://gist.github.com/1057091 What gives? Let me know if you need any additional info. NOTE: I do NOT want to add the rewrite rules to .htaccess in the project directory (it's checked into a git repo and I don't want to touch it).

• Millions of files in php's tmp error - how to delete?

  Hey. I've got a tmp-folder with 14 million php session files in my home directory. At least that's what I think it is, it's not like I could ls it or anything. How can I empty this folder? I've tried using find with the -exec rm {} \; commands but that didn't work. ls 'sess_0*' | xargs rm did neither. I'm currently running rm -rf tmp but after two hours the folder appears to be the same size. This led me thinking to a full folder, obviously, but since my web folder only has 60k files (having counted them), I guessed it was the tmp folder (the local one, for this instance of php) that messed things up.   Hi folks, when I attempt to goto any page in my web application (i'm migrating the code from an asp.net web site to web application, and now testing it) .. i keep getting some not authenticated error(s) . So, i've turned on FREB and this is what it says... I'm not sure what that means? Secondly, i've also made sure that my site (or at least the default document which has been setup to be default.aspx) has anonymous on and the rest off. • Mystery 0xc0000142 error on starting java from a service, as a different user.

  This is a very convoluted setup, but effectively this is what goes down: Manager service (which I don't have control over) running as admin user X starts my executable, which then starts Java as user Y using the standard c# StartInfo.Username/Password controls. Now, from a basic (not elevated or anything, just admin) command prompt I can run that executable, and Java pops up and works fine, running perfectly under the user it should be. When the service runs the same executable, however, Java silently fails. The only hint I see is this series of events in the event viewer: Service starts "Application popup: java.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application. " (googling this reveals a lot of scam sites telling me to use their "free antivirus to fix 0xc0000142 errors easy!"... sigh) Service stops (the java shutdown propagated, which is supposed to happen) And here's what process explorer has for the failure: As you can see, everything shows as a success. Now, I think this might have something to do with the permissions (the user java.exe is running under has traverse permission for the entire drive and full permissions to Directory A, which is where the .jar is), but I just can't fathom how something that works fine from the command line (and, this is an upgrade, the previous system without the user-switching aspect works fine from the service) can fail with such a cryptic message and little showing up in logs.

• need some help figuring out clamav & monit monitoring error...unixsocket...

  I need a bit of help figuring something out. First off, I'm not very well versed with FreeBSD servers, etc. but with some direction hopefully I can get this fixed. I'm using FreeBSD and installed Monit so I could monitor some of the processes that run tomcat, apache, mysql, sendmail, clamav. So far, I'm only successful in getting apache & mysql to be monitored. I'm getting this error for clamav in the log file for /var/log/monit.log 'clamavd' failed, cannot open a connection to UNIX[/usr/local/etc/rc.d/clamav-clamd] My config file for clamav in /etc/monitrc is: #################################################################### # CLAMAV Virus Checks #################################################################### check process clamavd with pidfile /var/run/clamav/clamd.pid group virus start program = "/usr/local/etc/rc.d/clamav-clamd start" stop program = "/usr/local/etc/rc.d/clamav-clamd stop" if failed unixsocket /usr/local/etc/rc.d/clamav-clamd then restart if 5 restarts within 5 cycles then timeout Honestly, I really don't know much of what's going on here. My host who helped me get the box set up basically installed clamav, but doesn't offer this kind of detail in supporting me, so I'm left to figure this stuff out on my own as I own the box, but they provide the isp service. Is there anyone who can help me troubleshoot this? Thanks for your help in advance.

• Ubuntu 10.04 on virtualbox gives error: Target filesystem doesn't have /sbin/init \ No init found. Try passing init= bootarg

  I'm a linux newbie and the only reason I have it installed is so I can stop having Windows incompatibility issues with Ruby on Rails. Having said that, it sure has been nice, and much faster, and I don't think I'll be doing any Winrails stuff anytime soon. So I created a virtualmachine using virtualbox and have had ubuntu on it for the last 3 weeks. Recently ubuntu asked if it could update a few things, I clicked 'ok'. Now it won't boot and I get this error: *mount: mounting /dev on /root/dev failed: No such file or directory mount: mounting /sys on /root/sys failed: No such file or directory ... Target filesystem doesn't have /sbin/init. No init found. Try passing init= bootarg BusyBox v1.13.3... (initramfs) _ * So I cruised the forums and there are a variety of solutions, but they all have to do with booting from the live cd. (which I assume is the ISO image I used to install ubuntu in the first place). But when I boot from that CD, it just hangs on the ubuntu screen, and the little dots keep cycling white to red, but it hung there for an hour so I think it was stuck. Not sure what I can do; can I do anything from the busybox shell (or whatever that is) to fix things? The thing is, it took about 10 hours to get everything the way I needed with all the gems and whatnot. And I didn't really write down what I tweaked, and I'm middle aged, so all that information has leaked out by now and I don't want to do it again. I'd really like to repair my existing install. One question you might have is, is there something wrong with the ISO? I don't think so, because I made a new virtual machine and used that same iso file to install a fresh ubuntu. • The BitLocker encrypted logical drive of my laptop is not accessible. On clicking error appears,"Application not found"

  I had an important personal data that was stored in my laptop drive 'F'. My 4 year old son also uses my laptop to play games. To secure my data I used bitlocker software that was already there in my windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. I am using a Dell D 630 Core2Duo laptop. The thing worked fine for me and I have been able to access my data in drive 'F' as and when I required. But today, when I tried to open my 'F' drive, an error box appeared saying "Application not found". I right clicked and checked 'properties' of 'F' drive. It showed me Used Space = 0 bytes and Free Space = 0 bytes. I opened 'Disk Management' which showed my 'F' drive file system as 'Unknown (Bitlocker Encrypted). 'Disk Management' is also showing my 'F' drive as healthy logical drive. I opened 'Manage bitlocker' and found that my 'F' drive was being shown locked and 'Unlock Drive' was displayed against it, however, when i click on 'Unlock Drive', it does not function. I opened 'TPM Administration' and found an information that 'Compatible TPM cannot be found'. My bitlocker encryption was working fine which means that I had a compatible TPM in my laptop. Where has it gone? How can I enable it? Is my 'F' Drive lost forever and thus the data in there as well?

• Can't create system image. 0x80780119 error after upgrade from 8 to 8.1

  I have upgraded my Windows 8 PC to 8.1 yesterday and it seemed like everything is working fine until I tried to create System Image. I got an error 0x80780119 saying that there is to little space on one of the partitions. I started looking into this problem and indeed one of the partitions does not meet the requirements. There are following partitions on my drive: DISKPART> list partition Partition ### Type Size Offset ------------- ---------------- ------- ------- Partition 1 Recovery 300 MB 1024 KB Partition 2 System 100 MB 301 MB Partition 3 Reserved 128 MB 401 MB Partition 4 Primary 74 GB 529 MB Partition 5 Primary 390 GB 75 GB Partition 1 has only 13MB free space. Partition 2 has 70MB free space, partition 3 is MSFTRES, partition 4 is my C drive with around 35GB free and partition 5 is not included in system image. Partitions were create like this during installation of Windows 8 - clean install from scratch. I am using UEFI so the drive is GPT formatted. So I thought, OK I can resize my C drive a little, move the partitions and expand the 1st one. I tried using GParted but it is not able to move the MSFTRES partition. It does not recognize the file system on it. So the question is: Is it possible to "clean up" the 1st partition in anyway? If not, is there anything special about MSFTRES partition? Or can I just remove it and create it a little further and just flag it as msftres with GParted?

• Grub Installation Failed: Fatal Error ... now what I do?

  I know there are some threads that touch this but I feel I have done something uniquely stupid. hence the post and plea for help. I am a beginner @ Linux. So I have a PC with a HDD (hard disk drive) and SSD (solid state drive) It was running Linux Mint /dev/sda1 - HDD Partition 1 - 2 TB (mounted this is /home /dev/sda2 - HDD Partition 2 - 1 TB (separate back up drive, i was backing up files to this) /dev/sdb1 - SSD Partition 1 - 100 GB (OS) /dev/sdb2 - SSD Partition 2 - 20 GB (Swap) The operating system was Linux Mint and was installed on the /dev/sdb1 i.e the solid state drive. I had partitioned off the sda into 2 TB and 1TB and presented the 2 TB as the /home to the OS. Anyway last night I decided to make a return to Ubuntu via the path of Elementary OS. Everything went fine with the install until it stated that GRUB installed failed and this was a Fatal error (no kidding I said). No I am stuck. I have definitely done something wrong and don't know what it is... My biggest pain is the files on the /dev/sda2. I want to save these before I try something drastic like wiping off the /dev/sda completely. So I have the following questions... Can I use a liveCD USB to save these files ? I can see the /dev/sda2 but was unable to access the files in the liveCD last not least ... how do I fix the main issue here. Why could the OS not install GRUB 2b... why is my SSD the /dev/sdb ... and not /dev/sda. Does that have something to do with it that my master boot record sits on the HDD /dev/sda and not /dev/sdb

• How can I diagnose what's causing Outlook 2007 when sending an attachment to fail with error 800CCC0F even though the message was sent?

  As the title suggests, I've got an issue where outlook 2007 is reporting it failed to send email with error 800ccc0f (unexpectedly terminated connection) but only with attachments. The email is actually sent, but outlook keeps retrying (stays in the outbox), generating more emails to the original recipient (which do get delivered) I've got QMail on the server side supporting a half dozen domains. It doesn't appear to matter which account I send from. I can successfully send attachments via alternate mail clients (webmail, thunderbird) while outlook is failing, or send messages without attachments; so it's seemingly not the accounts themselves or serverside, which leaves outlook as the culprit. There doesn't appear to be any pattern to the failures, and it's not consistent (I successfully sent an attachment as recently as 3 weeks ago) so I'm at a loss as to where to look. Qmail logs don't look any different between successes and failures. Has anybody seen this before/have a solution? UPDATE : It appears it's only PDF files that this occurs with, so I'm even more stumped. I can send html/docx/txt and zip, UNLESS the zip file contains a pdf ... whiskey tango foxtrot

A week ago, the WAR file produced by Rational Application Developer could be installed on the Portal server with no problems. Yesterday I made some seemingly minor changes to two JSP files and their associated "pagecode" Java files, and attempting to update the WAR on the server (using the Portal Administration web interface) now produces an error message. User Response: Modify the portlet.xml of the application such that it matches the original API type, standard or legacy and try again. However, the "portlet.xml" file has not changed in about a month, and I've done several WAR updates for this application in that time with no problems. The problem seems to be caused by the code changes I did yesterday, but I have no clue why a few lines of code would do this. Any ideas?

  I keep getting a Null Object Refrence Error, but can't tell why. I have a CSV file that contains 100 urls. The file is read into an array called "lines". public partial class Form1 : System.Windows.Forms.Form { string[] lines; public Form1() ... private void ReadLinksIntoMemory() { //this reads the chosen csv file into our "lines" array //and splits on comma's and new lines to create new objects within the array using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(@"C:\temp.csv")) { //reads everything in our csv into 1 long line string fileContents = sr.ReadToEnd(); //splits the 1 long line read in into multiple objects of the lines array lines = fileContents.Split(new string[] { ",", Environment.NewLine }, StringSplitOptions.RemoveEmptyEntries); sr.Dispose(); } } The next part is where I get the null object error. When I try to use WatIn to go to the first item in the lines array it says I'm referencing a null object. private void GoToEditLinks() { for (int i = 0; i < lines.Length; i++) { //go to each link sequentially myIE.GoTo(lines[i].ToString()); //sleep so we can make sure the page loads System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(5000); } } When I debug the code it says that the GoTo request calls lines which is null. It seems like I need to declare the array, but don't I need to tell it an exact size to do that? Example: lines = new string[10] I thought I could use the lines.Length to tell it how big to make the array but that didn't work. What is weird to me is I can use the following code without problem: //returns the accurate number of urls that were in the CSV we read in earlier txtbx1.text = lines.Length; //or //this returns the last entry in the csv, as well as the last entry in the array TextBox2.Text = lines[lines.Length - 1]; I am confused why the array clearly has items in it, they can be called to fill a text box, but when I try to call them in my for loop it says its a null reference? UPDATE: By placing my cursor on both calls to lines and pressing f12 I find they both go to the same instance. The thought next is that I am not calling ReadLinksIntoMemory in time, below is my code: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { button1.Enabled = false; ReadLinksIntoMemory(); GoToEditLinks(); button1.Enabled = true; } Unless I'm mistaken the code says that the ReadLinksIntoMemory method must complete before GoToEditLinks can be called? If ReadLinksIntoMemory didn't finish in time I shouldn't be able to fill my text boxes with the lines array length and/or last entry. UPDATE: Stepping into the method GoToEditLinks() I see that lines is null before it calls: myIE.GoTo(lines[i]); but when it hits the goto command the value changes from null to the url it is suppose to go to, but at that same time it gives me the null object error? UPDATE: I added a IsNullOrEmpty check method and lines array passes it without any issue. I'm beginning to think it is an issue with WatIn and the myIE.GoTo command. I think this is the stack trace/call stack?
