• Setting up Subsonic 3.0 on a ASP.NET web application on Visual Studio 2008

  I followed the steps on this tutorial video by at subsonic website. Everything seems to be self explanatory but when I copy the .tt files into my Visual Studio nothing happens. I have read other question relating to this problem on this website but they don't seem to fix this problem. I also went into the regedit to find out the generator key for .tt files and it is properly set. This is not a visual studio express or anything but a professional edition also I am trying to build a ASP.net web application and not a MVC application like the demo. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

• XCode - Copy sqlite DB from simulator and copy onto device for testing

  Hello, I am working on a Core Data app, and have populated the sqlite file in the iPhone Simulator with all of the fixtures/data that I use to test the app. I would like to use that sqlite file as a standardized set of testing data. The devices that I test the app on all have different data sets, and I would like to standardize on the one in the simulator. Is there a way in XCode (3 or 4) to add a step to the build/install process that will copy the sqlite file from the iPhone Simulator and install it over the file on the phone (if one exists)?   Hi all, I have to make a project to run successfully on a Linux machine. Right now my project works very well on windows machine. On Windows machine it is compiling and working fine. My project is using one ".lib" and one ".dll" file to do the tasks successfully on Windows. Can i use the same .lib file and .dll file on linux machine to build the project successfully? I am compiling the project with G++ and using GNU Makefile to do the task. What should i do in the case that i can not use the .LIB and .DLL file on Linux machine. • What should I really release as open source when I use Berkeley DB (JE)?

  The Berkeley DB (JE) license information says: "...Redistributions in any form must be accompanied by information on how to obtain complete source code for the DB software and any accompanying software that uses the DB software.... For an executable file, complete source code means the source code for all modules it contains. It does not include source code for modules or files that typically accompany the major components of the operating system on which the executable file runs." If I build an abstraction level on top of BDB JE, should I open source only that library or any software that uses BDB JE indirectly?

• MS-Access nested DIR - check if a file exists elsewhere whilst looping through a folder

  I have used the DIR() command in Microsoft Access 2003 to loop through the files in folder A. This works fine, but I need to check if each file also exists in another location (folder B), and only process the file if it doesn't exist in folder B. The problem is that checking for the file existing in folder B also uses the DIR() function and this then resets or confuses the original one, with the result that no further files are found in folder A. Is there a way to check if a file exists without using DIR? Or, is there a way to have a separate instance of DIR? I suppose I could build a list of the files in folder A into an array and then process the entries in the array, but this seems rather 'clunky' Any suggestions for a better solution? Thanks

• Operation timeout thrown using WebDav

  I build a desktop application in C# to send an email notification to a set of subscribed users. I am using Webdav to implement this function and using OWA (Outlook web access) and everything works fine till the 33 mail then 'Operation Timeout' exception is thrown. I can rerun my application to send emails to the remaining users but again after some emails again exception occurrs. Of course i could like to perform this operation in one run. I've tried adding some timeout value to my HttpWebRequest object and also put some Thread.Spleep value after sending each mail so that each http web request doesn't interfere with the following request. But now i am stuck with this timeout exception and no idea how to handle it. One idea would be that my logged in session in owa expired but i am loggin in each time a send a new email. Please can you provide me some help if you experienced with Web dav.

• vs2008 mystery: Quick macro record and playback shortcuts not allowed?

  in vs2008, Tools, Macros, Record TemporaryMacro keyboard shortcut toggle is Ctrl+Shift+R; Run TemporaryMacro keyboard shorcut is Ctrl+Shift+P for playback. I've used them before, but they've stopped working. If I open Tools, Options, Keyboard, then navigate to a command like Tools.Run that has no assigned keyboard shortcut, I can experiment by pretending to assign a keyboard shorcut: I simply click inside the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox and try different keystroke combinations. Examples: Ctrl+p: currently assigned to File.Print Ctrl+r: currently assigned to various uses Ctrl+Shift+Q: available Ctrl+Shift+B: currently assigned to Build.BuildSolution BUT vs2008 will not even allow me to type either of Ctrl+Shift+P or Ctrl+Shift+R in the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox. When I type those combinations, nothing appears in the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox. Please note: I can record and playback a temporary macro by using the menu commands, however, the mouse is like a turtle when compared to the keyboard. • Exposing headers on iPhone static library

  Hello guys, I've followed this tutorial for setting up a static library with common classes from 3 projects we are working on. It's pretty simple, create a new static library project on xcode, add the code there, a change some headers role from project to public. The tutorial says I should add my library folder to the header search paths recursively. Is this the right way to go? I mean, on my library project, I have files separated in folders like Global/, InfoScreen/, Additions/. I was trying to setup one LOKit.h file on the root folder, and inside that file #import everything I need to expose. So on my host project I don't need to add the folder recursively to the header search path, and would just #import "LOKit.h". But I couldn't get this to work, the host project won't build complaining about all the classes I didn't add to LOKit.h, even though the library project builds. So, my question is, what is the right way of exposing header files when I setup a Cocoa Touch Static Library project on xCode?

We have used JQuery for every kind of situation like slide shows, menus, etc. This site contains a lot of images which are large in size. because of this when viewed in a mobile phone user has to scroll a lot.   Hi, I'm trying to run a .jar file with the command "java -jar Filename.jar", but I am always getting an error saying "Could not find the main class: bla.bla.yada". I build the whole application with Maven and specified a Main-Class in the MANIFEST.MF. The path in the file is correct and the class also exists at the right location in the jar. The ending .class is omitted in the MANIFEST.MF. I hope this is correct. Do you have any other hints?

• My iPhone App doesn't work in iOS 4. Why?

  Hi everybody. I make a iPhone App that display some videos, I made it with Xcode 3.2.2 with iPhone SDK 3.1.3 and works fine. But a few days ago I downloaded the last version of the iPhone SDK for iOS 4, the proyect Build ok, no erros, no warnings, but when I run the aplication the video didn't work, the image didn't load but sound works. I don't understand it. Here is the code that I used.   My MacBook Pro runs slower the longer it's on. I am getting kernel warnings. Some, but not all, resets correlate with AC power connects and disconnects. I don't think the warnings do.   A question to maybe some who have worked extensively with WinUSB APIs or use mode USB drivers - Does anyone know if the WinUSB API or a user mode driver can be used as a passive observer of USB connections, capturing notification of interrupts, control requests, data transfers...etc without interfering with other applications (such as iTunes) which would obviously require concurrent access to the device at the same time my application is monitoring the connection and displaying data on it? Or do you pretty much have to write a kernel-mode filter driver and inject yourself in the USB stack in order to make that happen? In the past, there have been a few credible options (libusb-win32 and usbsnoop to be specific) though both are built around the old DDK, not the Windows Driver Foundation, and are not really supported on a regular basis any more. I'm hesitant to build something significant around them, as a result.

By the way, if I am able to do the described step, I will need to do the following: sudo python setup.py install And I have no system-administrator-rights.   Hello, gcc 4.4.2 / Visual Studio C++ 2008 I have been using cmake on linux, without any problems. Now I have ported by application to run on windows. I generated the solution files using cmake -G "Visual Studio 9 2008 ../src" However, I know that cmake only creates a Makefile that is used by the compiler to build your application. I open my solution in Visual Studio, I press the F7 key to compile. I am wondering does it actually use the Makefile that was generated by cmake? Or it is just compiling the application like any normal visual studio program? Many thanks for any advice,

• parsing raw email in php

  i'm looking for good/working/simple to use php code for parsing raw email into parts. i've written a couple of brute force solutions, but everytime, one small change/header/space/something comes along and my whole parser fails and the project falls apart. and before i get pointed at PEAR/PECL, i need actual code. my host has some screwy config or something, i can never seem to get the .so's to build right. if i do get the .so made, some difference in path/environment/php.ini doesnt always make it available (apache vs cron vs cli) oh, and one last thing, i'm parsing the raw email text, NOT pop3, and NOT imap. its being piped into the php script via a .qmail email redirect. i'm not expecting SOF to write it for me, i'm looking for some tips/starting points on doing it "right". this is one of those "wheel" problems that i know has already been solved.

• Blackberry: Simulator stuck up launching through JDE 5.x

  Hi, When i try to build my project in Blackberry JDE 5.0.0.25. It built successfully. And then when i click on Debug menu "Go" button, simulator is launching and stuck up lanching itself forever, does't come up the simulator screen normally and visible with apps showing. When i built the same project in Blackberry JDE 4.7, it built successfully and then click on "Go", launched the simulator normally and showed the app to play with it. Could someone guide me what should be problem? Do i need to set any settings specific to BB JDE 5.x? I have just the basic hello world empty screen in my project, so don't provide any code here.   I'm trying to build a custom clock view in Android. See image http://twitpic.com/1devk7 So far to draw the time and hour markers I have been using the Canvas.rotate method to get the desired effect. However, notice that it is difficult to interpret the numbers in the lower half of the clock (e.g. 6 or 9?) because of the angle in which they are drawn. When using drawText, is it possible to draw the text at 45/90/180 degrees so that all text appears upright when my onDraw method has finished?
