• Eclipselink update existing tables

  Maybe I got it wrong but i though that JPA was able to update an existing table (model changed adding a column) but is not working in my case. I can see in the logs eclipselink attempting to create it but failing because it already exists. Instead of trying an update to add the column it keeps going. • Is there a way to disable a label?

  I am using an asp radio button group to list out answers in a form. Here is an example of the structure (I know the text doesn't make sense, bare with me). <asp:RadioButtonList id="Q2" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Text="Go to <a target='_blank' href='http:www.google.com'>Google</a>" Value="a"></asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Text="Go to <a target='_blank' href='http:www.yahoo.com'>Yahoo</a>" Value="a"></asp:ListItem> </asp:RadioButtonList> So I want to be able to click on the links and not have the radiobutton associated with it become selected. In IE it works fine but in Firefox the radio button will be selected when i click on the link. I don't really need the label to actually select the proper radio button so is there a way to just disable them either in javascript or somewhere in the asp or C# code?

• After rich:extendedDataTable sortby, other actions are not getting executed

  I have several tabs and one of the tabs uses rich:extendedDataTable. If sortBy is clicked in the page where table is used and if I navigate to another page, it looks for the bean of the old page and throws an error saying that sortyBy of the column is undefined. E.g. If I use sortBy on userId in tab1 (where the column must have sortBy="#{data.userId}") and then I click on tab2, it looks for the data.userId and throws an error. I am using Richfaces version 3.2.2SR1. Can anyone help me on this? • source of historical stock data

  I'm trying to make a stock market simulator (perhaps eventually growing into a predicting AI), but I'm having trouble finding data to use. I'm looking for a (hopefully free) source of historical stock market data. Ideally, it would be a very fine-grained (second or minute interval) data set with price and volume of every symbol on NASDAQ and NYSE (and perhaps others if I get adventurous). Does anyone know of a source for such info? I found this question which indicates Yahoo offers historical data in CSV format, but I've been unable to find out how to get it in a cursory examination of the site linked. I also don't like the idea of downloading the data piecemeal in CSV files... I imagine Yahoo would get upset and shut me off after the first few thousand requests. I also discovered another question that made me think I'd hit the jackpot, but unfortunately that OpenTick site seems to have closed its doors... too bad, since I think they were exactly what I wanted. I'd also be able to use data that's just open/close price and volume of every symbol every day, but I'd prefer all the data if I can get it. Any other suggestions?

• binding nested json object value to a form field

  I am building a dynamic form to edit data in a json object. First, if something like this exists let me know. I would rather not build it but I have searched many times for a tool and have found only tree like structures that require entering quotes. I would be happy to treat all values as strings. This edit functionality is for end users so it needs to be easy an not intimidating. So far I have code that generates nested tables to represent a json object. For each value I display a form field. I would like to bind the form field to the associated nested json value. If I could store a reference to the json value I would build an array of references to each value in a json object tree. I have not found a way to do that with javascript. My last resort approach will be to traverse the table after edits are made. I would rather have dynamic updates but a single submit would be better than nothing. Any ideas? // the json in files nests only a few levels. • Add Keyboard Binding To Existing Emacs Mode

  I'm attempting my first modification of emacs. I recorded a little keyboard macro and had emacs spit it out as elisp, resulting in: (setq add-docstring "\C-rdef\C-n\C-a\C-m\C-p\C-i\C-u6\"\C-u3\C-b") (global-set-key "\C-c\C-d" 'add-docstring) Searching the emacs reference, though, revealed that C-c C-d is already bound in diff mode. I don't plan on using diff mode, but the future is unknowable and I'd like to not lay a trap for myself. So I'd like this keybinding to only operate in python mode, where it tries to help me add docstrings. In my /usr/share/emacs/23.whatever/list/progmodes, I found python.elc and python.el.gz. I unzipped python.el.gz and got a readable version of the elisp file. Now, though, the documentation becomes opaque to me. How can I add my key binding to the python mode, instead of globally? Is it possible, for bonus points, to apply the changes to python mode without restarting emacs or closing open files? It's the self-modifying editor, I figure there's a good chance that it's possible.

• Why are Managed Beans not loaded in Tomcat?

  Hi, I created a JSF 2 web application with facelets. The libs for JSF where stored at tomcat/lib, to share it between several applications. I thought maybe it would be better to store the libs inside the WEB-INF/lib folder of the application, to get the application more independent from server configurations. Now when I start tomcat via eclipse, the managed beans are loaded and working. But when I start tomcat directly / standalone the managed beans are not loaded automatically. I used @ManagedBean @SessionScoped / @RequestScoped annotations to declare classes as managed beans. Why is this? What can I do to fix it? I don't use any faces-config.xml file yet. • Should I Solve this with Multithreading in Ruby?

  I have a strange case, here's the sequence of actions: User edits a document and hits save Application sends GET request to service Service sends POST request back to application in the middle of responding to the GET request Application, in the same state as when it made the GET request, responds to the POST request (sends document data) to service. Service sends data back to Application (responding to original GET request) Application handles the rest... The use case is this: I was thinking how can I make Yahoo Pipes POST data? Specifically, I want it to be able to update Google Docs when a user makes a change locally (on a custom editor). So user edits doc, makes GET request to Yahoo Pipes, Pipes makes a POST request back to App to get the document (Pipes can only make this type of POST request), App sends doc, Pipes formats data according to the Google API, Pipes responds to GET request with Google API formatted XML, App makes the post request. Theoretically, how would I accomplish this? It seems that I need to create a separate ruby Process for the GET request, and when Pipes sends the POST request, I find that process and send its output, then I'm stuck. This would cut out the need for a database for this particular case (I could save the stuff temporarily in a database, but that doesn't seem right). Any ideas? This would make it so I don't have to format things to the Google API in ruby, I could leave that to Pipes.

  I am building an Android application that requires OAuth. I have all the OAuth functionality working except for handling the callback from Yahoo. I have the following in my AndroidManifest.xml : <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW"></action> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"></category> <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE"></category> <data android:host="www.test.com" android:scheme="http"></data> </intent-filter> Where www.test.com will be substituted with a domain that I own. It seems : This filter is triggered when I click on a link on a page. It is not triggered on the redirect by Yahoo, the browser opens the website at www.test.com It is not triggered when I enter the domain name directly in the browser. So can anybody help me with When exactly this intent-filter will be triggered? Any changes to the intent-filter or permissions that will widen the filter to apply to redirect requests? Any other approaches I could use? Thanks for your help.

• fullcalendar events from REST-ful php server.

  I've written a very simple RESTful php server (my first experiment with REST, so feel free to make suggestions) to respond to the fullcalendar events callback. It produces exactly the same string output as the json-events.php file in the fullcalendar json example, but for some reason fullcalendar will not accept my server's output. I've tried messing with the headers because they're different from the ones produced by json-events.php, but I'm not really sure what's awry there, if anything. • How to use JS to jump to a specific place in a page? Tried scrollIntoView, not working

  I have a PHP form for discussions. Each message has its own response button, which is dynamically generated. I'm using javascript in the button to make a response form visible at the bottom of the page, but I can't for the life of me get the page to jump down to the form once it's visible. This is a problem for pages that have a lot of discussions on it, as some users may not know to scroll down and will just think the button didn't work. Here's what I have now for my button code: <a href="#" onClick="changeVisibility(3,'responseForm')"><img src="images/reply.jpg" border=0 /></a> The changeVisibility function looks like this: function changeVisibility(parentID, elementID) { document.getElementById(elementID).style.visibility="visible"; document.forms[0].parent_id.value=parentID; var el = document.getElementById(elementID); el.scrollIntoView(true); } In my form, I have a div whose id is set to responseForm. When clicking the button, the div does become visible, but the scrollIntoView is not working - I have to manually scroll down to see it. Any ideas?

• HTML not appearing in Emails

  My website sends out html emails but most of my recipients are receiving them as HTML marked up source pages instead of the nice table layouts. The problem doesn't appear to be an email client issue since the emails display properly in web mail clients like gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc... They also display properly when viewed through outlook or thunderbird that are connected to gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc... However, I have one domain name that I registered with a shared hosting provider called 1and1.com. I tried viewing my emails through their webmail client, thunderbird and outlook, but in all three cases, only the html mark up showed up. Also, I assume most of my recipients use MS Outlook with MS Exchange Server because they are business/finance people. Unfortunately, I don't know how to get an email that's managed by an MS Exchange Server. I made sure I'm sending my emails with the following headers: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Does anyone know what might be wrong? can anyone recommend a solution?

  so I'm trying to get some info in the auto-complete widget like it's shown in the JQuery UI demo Demo, the only problem is they use a variable that they fill with the data they want to show, I instead want to access the data and the different description and stuff using a Data Base in MySQL, for this I have changed the source to use another php page that looks up the info. here is the code for the Auto-complete, I really don't understand the methods so I haven't changed it from the basic search.
