  I am receiving the following error in my code (c#, .Net 3.5, VS2008) when I try to connect to an Excel sheet and fill a OleDbDataAdapter with the results of a query. First the error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. Here's what I have when I print the output with Data::Dumper: $VAR1 = { 'settings' => { 'user' => 'anonymous', 's' => [ { 'n' => 'blabla1', 'v' => 'true' }, { 'n' => 'blabla2', 'v' => 'false' }, { 'n' => 'blabla3', 'v' => 'true' } ] }, 'result' => '0' }; And here's my code $xml = new XML::Simple; $data = $xml->XMLin($file); foreach $s (keys %{ $data->{'settings'}->{'s'} }) { print "TEST: $s $data->{'settings'}->{'s'}->[$s]->{'n'} $data->{'settings'}->{'s'}->[$s]->{'v'}<br>\n"; } And it returns these 2 lines, without looping: TEST: n blabla1 true TEST: v blabla1 true I also tried to do something like this: foreach $s (keys %{ $data->{'settings'}->{'s'} }) { Without any success: Type of arg 1 to keys must be hash (not array dereference) How can I procede?   I would like to compare two collections (in C#), but I'm not sure of the best way to implement this efficiently. I've read the other thread about Enumerable.SequenceEqual, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. In my case, two collections would be equal if they both contain the same items (no matter the order). Example: collection1 = {1, 2, 3, 4}; collection2 = {2, 4, 1, 3}; collection1 == collection2; // true What I usually do is to loop through each item of one collection and see if it exists in the other collection, then loop through each item of the other collection and see if it exists in the first collection. (I start by comparing the lengths). if (collection1.Count != collection2.Count) return false; // the collections are not equal foreach (Item item in collection1) { if (!collection2.Contains(item)) return false; // the collections are not equal } foreach (Item item in collection2) { if (!collection1.Contains(item)) return false; // the collections are not equal } return true; // the collections are equal However, this is not entirely correct, and it's probably not the most efficient way to do compare two collections for equality. An example I can think of that would be wrong is: collection1 = {1, 2, 3, 3, 4} collection2 = {1, 2, 2, 3, 4} Which would be equal with my implementation. Should I just count the number of times each item is found and make sure the counts are equal in both collections? The examples are in some sort of C# (let's call it pseudo-C#), but give your answer in whatever language you wish, it does not matter. Note: I used integers in the examples for simplicity, but I want to be able to use reference-type objects too (they do not behave correctly as keys because only the reference of the object is compared, not the content).

• Iterating through controls on a Windows Form

  I seem to have some weird issue going on that I am sure will turn out to be a simple thing. I have a Windows Form and on the form I have 1 panel called MainPanel and inside MainPanel, I got another panel with a button inside and a label that is inside MainPanel, but not in the second panel. 2 controls. What I am trying to do is copy all the controls inside MainPanel over to another panel object. I am using the following C# code to do this: GUIPanel gp = new GUIPanel(); foreach (System.Windows.Forms.Control ctrl in gp.Controls["MainPanel"].Controls) { m_OptionsControl.Controls.Add(ctrl); } When I run this code, it copies over the panel with the button, but not the label. What's even more odd is when I set a breakpoint and run it through the debugger, and I type "?gp.Controls["MainPanel"].Controls.Count" in the immediate window, it returns 2, just like it should. However, when stepping through the code, it only executes the foreach loop once. What am I missing here?

  I am trying to write a custom script that will keep a list of strings in a textarea. Each line of the textarea will be a row from a table. The problem I have is how to work the script to allow for adding, updating, or deleting rows based on a submit. So, for instance, I currently have 3 rows in the database: john sue mark I want to be able to delete sue and add richard and it will delete the row with sue and insert a row for richard. • Can't bind string containing @ char with mysqli_stmt_bind_param

  I have a problem with my database class. I have a method that takes one prepared statement and any number of parameters, binds them to the statement, executes the statement and formats the result into a multidimentional array. Everthing works fine until I try to include an email adress in one of the parameters. The email contains an @ character and that one seems to break everything.   Im uploading a file, and then attempting to use fgetcsv to do things to it. This is my script below. Everything was working fine before i added the file upload portions. Now its not showing any errors, its just not displaying the uploaded data. • Assigning specific menu administration rights for roles in drupal

  Hello folks. I'm trying to give one of my roles the administrative rights to add/remove content in a specific menu (but not all menus). I think I found a module that should enable something like this, http://drupalmodules.com/module/delegate-menu-administration I've followed the instructions, added the role to my user, checked the "administer some menus" value for that role and checked the "Make admin" field for that role and specific menu in Menus. I also gave the role permissions to change page and story content. However, it still wont let the user add any new content it creates in any menu, and I get an error message saying "warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/martin/www/drupal/modules/delegate_menu_admin/delegate_menu_admin.module on line 346." Line 346 looks like this: foreach ($form['menu']['parent']['#options'] as $key => $value) { I did a print_r($form); in the file just before it and there's no such array that I can see: [menu] => Array ( [#access] => 1 [delete] => Array ( [#access] => ) ) When I gave the role "administer menu" permissions, nothing extra was printed at all, leading me to the assumption that the delegate_menu_admin.module file is not used at all while both the "administer menu" and the "administer some menus" (from the delegate-menu-administration module) permissions are set! Is this some incompatibility between the module because of some drupal update? Or am I just too tired and too stupid? :)

  I am using the Select query as SELECT id, ordering FROM `jos_menu` WHERE ordering='".$rec['ordering'] -'1' ."' AND parent = '0' Here I need all the records whose ordering is less than 1 of the selected record's order($rec['ordering'] = getting from other select query ) when I am trying to echo the query I am not getting complete statement but getting only this -1' AND parent = '0' here is the whole snippet $where = ' WHERE (id = ' . implode( ' OR id = ', $cid ) . • Monitor file selection in explorer (like clipboard monitoring) in C#

  Hi, I am trying to create a little helper application, one scenario is "file duplication finder". What I want to do is this: I start my C# .NET app, it gives me an empty list. Start the normal windows explorer, select a file in some folder The C# app tells me stuff about this file (e.g. duplicates) How can I monitor the currently selected file in the "normal" windows explorer instance. Do I have to start the instance using .NET to have a handle of the process. Do I need a handle, or is there some "global hook" I can monitor inside C#. Its a little bit like monitoring the clipboard, but not exactly the same... • PHP incomplete code - scan dir, include only if name starts or end with x

  I posted a question before but I am yet limited to mix the code without getting errors.. I'm rather new to php :( ( the dirs are named in series like this "id_1_1" , "id_1_2", "id_1_3" and "id_2_1" , "id_2_2", "id_2_3" etc.) I have this code, that will scan a directory for all the files and then include a same known named file for each of the existing folders.. the problem is I want to modify a bit the code to only include certain directories which their names: ends with "_1" starts with "id_1_" I want to create a page that will load only the dirs that ends with "_1" and another file that will load only dirs that starts with "id_1_".. <?php include_once "$root/content/common/header.php"; include_once "$root/content/common/header_bc.php"; include_once "$root/content/" . $page_file . • making arrays from tab-delimited text file column

  I was wondering if anyone could help a desperate newbie with perl with the following question. I've been trying all day but with my perl book at work, I can't seem to anything relevant in google...or maybe am genuinely stupid with this. I have a file that looks something like the following: Bob April Bob April Bob March Mary August Robin December Robin April The output file I'm after is: Bob April April March Mary August Robin December April So that it lists each month in the order that it appears for each person. I tried making it into a hash but of course it wouldn't let me have duplicates so I thought I would like to have arrays for each name (in this example, Bob, Mary and Robin). I'm afraid to upload the code I've been trying to tweak because I know it'll be horribly wrong. I think I need to define(?) the array. Would this be correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated and I promise I will be studying more about perl in the meantime. • Datatable add new column and values speed issue

  I am having some speed issue with my datatables. In this particular case I am using it as holder of data, it is never used in GUI or any other scenario that actually uses any of the fancy features. In my speed trace, this particular constructor was showing up as a heavy user of time when my database is ~40k rows. The main user was set_Item of DataTable. protected myclass(DataTable dataTable, DataColumn idColumn) { this.dataTable = dataTable; IdColumn = idColumn ?? this.dataTable.Columns.Add(string.Format("SYS_{0}_SYS", Guid.NewGuid()), Type.GetType("System.Int32")); JobIdColumn = this.dataTable.Columns.Add(string.Format("SYS_{0}_SYS", Guid.NewGuid()), Type.GetType("System.Int32")); IsNewColumn = this.dataTable.Columns.Add(string.Format("SYS_{0}_SYS", Guid.NewGuid()), Type.GetType("System.Int32")); int id = 1; foreach (DataRow r in this.dataTable.Rows) { r[JobIdColumn] = id++; r[IsNewColumn] = (r[IdColumn] == null || r[IdColumn].ToString() == string.Empty) ? 1 : 0; } Digging deeper into the trace, it turns out that set_Item calls EndEdit, which brings my thoughts to the transaction support of the DataTable, for which I have no usage for in my scenario. So my solution to this was to open editing on all of the rows and never close them again. _dt.BeginLoadData(); foreach (DataRow row in _dt.Rows) row.BeginEdit(); Is there a better solution? This feels too much like a big giant hack that will eventually come and bite me. You might suggest that I dont use DataTable at all, but I have already considered that and rejected it due to the amount of effort that would be required to reimplement with a custom class. The main reason it is a datatable is that it is ancient code (.net 1.1 time) and I dont want to spend that much time changing it, and it is also because the original table comes out of a third party component.
