  • Classic assembly language texts not using x86?

    I'm looking for texts that give detailed treatment of assembly programming principles and don't use x86 as the target architecture. I haven't found any recent books like that, but I would expect that there were some good ones written in the 1970s and 1980s, when whole applications were still written in assembly. The architecture used should also be one of the cleaner designs, such as the 6502 or VAX.

  • How do I move a Java JFrame partially off my Linux desktop?

    I'm writing a Java application with movable frames, and I've come across a quirk in Linux. I'm running GNOME 2.16.0 under CentOS. When I use JFrame.setBounds to set the bounds to any location that's half off the screen, it actually sets the location of the frame to be as close as possible to the bounds specified while still staying completely on the screen. This is confusing because other non-Java windows can move half off the screen. How do I tell Java to tell GNOME to actually put the frame where I specify, even if that's half off the screen?

    I'm going to create a new PayPal project. Should I just create a regular Class Library project then add the reference to the WSDL? We are not using WCF. I just want to know what the best project type / template I should use if I'm going to share this project with lets say another WAP web project. I simply want to create wrappers for some of the WSDL that we'll be using in part of the PayPal API.

  • The Classic jQuery Tabs with Bing Maps Issue

    Hello, I know that there are multiple issues with jQuery Tabs and using Maps. And I have seen the multiple fixes and I am half-way there. But I have the most obscure issue and hoping that someone might understand why. This is my code for the tabs $("#contactTabs").tabs({ spinner: 'Loading <img src="../images/icons/ajax-loader.gif" />' }); $('#contactTabs').bind('tabsshow', function(event, ui) { if (ui.panel.id == "Map") { GetMap(); } }); Which currently does not work. But I was doing some testing and added in an ALERT() to see if the "GetMap()" was even attempting to be loaded... so this was the code that I tested with, and it works just fine. $("#contactTabs").tabs({ spinner: 'Loading <img src="../images/icons/ajax-loader.gif" />' }); $('#contactTabs').bind('tabsshow', function(event, ui) { if (ui.panel.id == "Map") { alert("load map"); GetMap(); } }); So I haven't a clue why adding the ALERT() causes the map to load and removing the ALERT just doesn't load the map at all. Is there any clarification that someone can give me on this issue? Thank you in advance!

  • Eclipse And Linux: Keyboard unusable after gnome-screen-saver

    Hi, I know this is not programming related. But I can't find any topics on Google or UbuntuForums. So the problem is: When gnome-screensaver starts on the moment Eclipse has the focus and I wake up again my laptop, Eclipse doesn't listen to keyboard-events. To solve this I have to change the focus to another program and then back to Eclipse. Than it works again. This isn't a real problem, but it would be nice if someone can solve it. Thanks

  • unsetting application role in classic ASP

    Hi, I'm trying to unset an application role but have been failing miserably. I was able to get the cookie value after setting (sp_setapprole) the application role. But I haven't been able to use that cookie (type varbinary / byte array) in my query to unset using sp_unsetapprole. If it was any other stored procedure it wouldn't have been a problem. I was able to use Command object and create a parameter which takes data type input of adVarBinary (204) and execute the command line.. but to the Server the query goes as below. exec sp_executesql N'sp_unsetapprole @P1 ',N'@P1 varbinary(36)',0x01000000CD11697F8F0ED3627BC1DAD25FB9CEB3A2EC5B289C658235E510CD9F29230000 Since sp_setapprole and sp_unsetapprole have to be run ad hoc, the sql server is failing to run this line. And I'm finding it hard to append varbinary cookie value to a simple query such as 'sp_unsetapprole ' & varKookie so it runs "directly" on to the server. Any kind of suggestions are welcome.     Hi, I am getting the following error: Invalid authorization specification I've narrowed down the error to my connection string. I have verified the server name, database, user & password are correct. Here is the string: "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Server=xxxxx.db.12345.hostedresource.com;Database=foo;UID=fooUser;PWD=fooPW" The SQL server is hosted on Godaddy so I don't have access to its settings. Please help, I've scoured the internet for a solution!

  • Qt drag/drop: cannot move when copy is enabled (Ubuntu Gnome)

    I'm implementing a view and a model where I want to support both moving items internally (by dragging), and copying items (by pressing Ctrl while dragging). I've done everything I need to do according to the instructions. I've set up the mime functions, I've implemented removeRows(), and flags(). The problem is when I drag, it defaults to a copy operation (I get the arrow cursor with a plus sign, and it indeed copies the item by creating a new one in the model). The only difference I can see is this: If I return only Qt::MoveAction in supportedDropActions(), it only moves. If I return (Qt::CopyAction | Qt::MoveAction), it only copies. Any ideas? I want it to work like files in Nautilus (Gnome) or Windows file Explorer: drag moves icons around, ctrl+drag copies them.

  • Is it possible to use the Volume Notifications from Gnome Shell in XFCE?

    I somehow had them working before in 11.10 but I don't really remember what did I do back then other than activating "load Gnome components on start up" in the XFCE's settings manager. I've tried the same in 12.04 but doesn't seem to do anything, I specifically ask for the Volume notifications as other notifications used notify-osd or xfce4-notifyd but the volume one was Gnome's (I found that later) As far as I know it uses notification-daemonbut installing it instead of the other two doesn't give me the correct notifications. I'm using XFCE 4.10

  • Using jQuery and AJAX works for all functions except one, really bizarre issue (from my perspective)

    I am working on a classic asp form that has a number of dropdowns. Three of these are cascading, i.e. they rely in the previous dropdown. For almost everything this code works fine, one of them however is not playing nice. To start off I have a script tag with the following in it: $(document).ready(function () { $("#AcademicLevel").change(getList); $("#CourseDeliveryTime").change(updateLocation); $("#ProgramType").change(updateEntryTerm); }); This works just fine for the first two elements of the form, AcademicLevel and CourseDeliveryTime, the third however does not take effect however. If I use Firebug's Console and run that same line of code, $("#ProgramType").change(updateEntryTerm);, it starts to work, sort of. What happens is what confuses me. If the function it is pointing to, updateEntryTerm, has an alert() call in it, it works. If the alert is commented out, it does not work.   • ASMX Web Service online works when all of the code is in one file without code-behind

    I have an ASMX Web Service that has its code entirely in a code-behind file, so that the entire contents of the .asmx file is: <%@ WebService Language="C#" CodeBehind="~/App_Code/AddressValidation.cs" Class="AddressValidation" %> On my test machine (Windows XP with IIS 5), I set up a virtual directory just for this ASP.NET 2.0 solution and everything works great. All my code is separated nicely and it just works. However, when we deployed this solution to our Windows Server 2003 development environment, we noticed that the code only compiled when all of the code was dropped directly into the .asmx file, meaning that the solution didn't work with code-behind. We can't figure out why this is happening. One thing that's different about our setup in our development environment is that instead of creating a separate virual directory just for this solution, we dropped it into an existing directory that runs a classic ASP application. So here we have a folder with an ASP.NET 2.0 application within a directory that contains a classic ASP application. Granted, everything in the ASP.NET 2.0 application works if all of the code is within the .asmx file and not in code-behind, but we'd really like to know why it's not recognizing the code-behind files and compiling it correctly.

    I want to find the exact time where a media file is currently paused at (or playing) in a running Totem instance using D-Bus. To be precise, what I want is available from the Totem python console (if the plugin exists and is enabled) by the following command: >>> print totem_object.props.current_time 732616 which I understand is milliseconds. So far: I've never used D-Bus before, so I'm in the process of going through D-Bus and python-dbus documentation. I've also fired up D-Feet and found that the org.gnome.Totem bus name and the /Factory object I can use the org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties interface methods. Need to resolve firefox dependency hell to attempt to resolve Tomcat6 project dependencies (don't ask), ASAP. Have been trying for hours. This is code that works (Provided by another member of Stack Overflow): sqlStr = "USE "&databaseNameRecordSet.Fields.Item("name")&";SELECT permission_name FROM fn_my_permissions(null, 'database')" This code checks what permissions I have on a given database - the problem being - if I dont have permission it throws an error and doesn't continue to draw the rest of my page.
