• One email user keeps disconnecting from our exchange server

  I have one user who keeps reporting that Outlook keeps disconnecting from our email server. All other users are fine. Our email server is running Exchange 2010 and the client is running Outlook 2003. The disconnection only lasts a moment. I have checked for logs on the client and Exchange server and can not see any reason for the disconnect, On the Client I get EventId 26 telling me Outlook has disconnected and reconnected but no reason why. Can anyone give me some suggestions of things to try and track down where the problem could be? --Update-- I have found the following log file C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Logging\RPC Client Access which suggests that it is a problem with RPC sessions. • Is it possible to convert this asp to asp.net?

  I have been tasked with sifting through the worst classic asp spaghetti i've ever come across. The script runs a series of recordsets in sequence, getting 1 record at a time. As the record is built it takes the id and passes it to the next loop, which gets data, and passes on the id to the next loop. It then continues in this manner and builds an unordered list, kicking out the required html as it goes. Here are my efforts so far: have a class delivering data via sqldatareaders and output these to nested repeaters (this failed due to not being able to loop and get the id) Have a datatable populated with all the required data, then datatable.select to filter it out. have 4 datareaders looping and building the ul arraylists (I couldnt get the id's to match up) Please can you suggest the best method (with a bit of sample code if possible) to go about doing this conversion? • Where can I find "magic numbers" for classic game play mechanics?

  I'd like to find some "magic numbers" for the classic helicopter game. For example the numbers that determine how fast the helicopter accelerates up and down. Also perhaps the "randomness" of the obstacles (uniformly distributed? Gaussian?). Where can I find these numbers? p.s. I don't care about the particular platform... Flash on the desktop browser is just as good as some implementation on a mobile device.

It works well with Dependency Injection. Actions are stored as weak references so memory leaks are avioded and unsubscribe is not a must. The only annoyance is the need to declare new TMessageParam for each specific message. But everything comes at a cost. And what I'm really worried about is that I see no shortcomings of this approach. Has anoyne the experience of some troubles with this design pattern?

• Why do the GNOME symbolic icons appear darker in a running application?

  I'm creating an application that uses symbolic icons from the default theme. However, there are a few icons that I need that cannot be represented by those from the default theme, so I'm creating my own ones. What I did was to simply go to /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/actions/, copied a few locally into my app's source tree that could serve as a basis, and started editing them. So far so good. But I've noticed the following: all symbolic icons are of a light grey color when looking at the original .svg file, but when they are put onto a widget, they become darker. Here's an example, using the /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/actions/view-refresh-symbolic.svg icon from the default theme: Here's what it looks like when opening the original with Inkscape: And here's what it looks like on a toolbar on a running application: Notice the icon being much darker at runtime. That happens both with the Ambiance and Radiance themes. I wouldn't mind much, but I noticed it affects my custom icon, whereby parts of it become darker (the inner fill), whereas parts of it remain the same color as the original (the stroke). So what causes the default symbolic icons to darken and how should implement that for my custom icons?

• Is there a shell-independent HUD-like menu search tool for Gnome?

  The Ubuntu HUD - you love it or you hate it. Personally I rather like a classic desktop, so I use Xfce and Cinnamon, and I don't want to lose my menu in applications. But the HUD is pretty awesome when your menus are complex and you forgot where an option sits. This makes that search trick very interesting. I know the HUD is Unity specific. I am looking for a HUD-like tool to complement the menu in shells other than Unity. There is Appmenu Runner for KDE that does this. There is also appmenu-qt for KDE. Problem with the above is that it uses KDE libs, and it only works for KDE apps. This is Linux, there aught to be something like this for GNOME/GTK apps, right? Looking for any tool that can search the menus. I already use(d) Kupfer and Gnome-do, something like that would suffice if only it includes searching the menus for the currently focussed application.

  I'm using Fedora 15, in GNOME Shell, my mobile broadband connection was working absolutely fine, until I set the connection type to Connect Automatically using nm-connection-manager. Now, when I start the Fedora, the Top panel network icon shows red exclamation symbol and when I click it, instead of showing me available networks' list, it shows only "Network Settings", and when I open it, it shows GNOME 3's new Network Manager app, and it pops out the dialog saying that, "Current network settings service is incompatible with this version". And after a few seconds of log in, the shell freezes and all I can do is log out using Ctrl+Alt+BackSpace. I'm facing this problem since I opened old network manager app using nm-connection-manager in the run dialog, and editing my connection to connect automatically. After logging in to the shell I somehow managed to delete that connection from the same app and created a new one, but the problem still exists. How can I delete all network preferences (by deleting its configuration files from my home directory or something like that) and reset the GNOME 3's network manager to its default state?

  I want to execute bash script on startup that opens several terminals in different workspaces. Script works just fine if I call it from terminal, but it doesn't work if executed from crontab using @reboot: #!/usr/bin/env bash #1 make sure we have enough workspaces gconftool-2 --set -t int /apps/metacity/general/num_workspaces 7 #2. • Why nautilus quicklist is not working?

  None of my bookmarks (Documents, Pictures, Download, Dropbox, Ubuntu One, Music, Public) are correctly shown but they won't open if I right click on the Home icon and select them. The only ones who work are Home and Open A New Window. I've read similar questions (http://askubuntu.com/questions/184504/unity-home-quicklist-not-working-when-nautilus-is-closed and unity home quicklist not working) but my problem seems different... • Gnome 3: Moving the status(?) icons to the top

  I'm not sure of any of the terminology, so I'll have to explain things simply, to make sure you understand what I'm saying. I'm using Gnome 3, and when I bring the mouse to the bottom right of the screen, a bar pops up, with icons of some things that are running in the background (at the moment, mine has "Update Manager", "Removable Devices", "caffeine-cup"). Is there any way to move these items to the bar at the top of the screen, alongside the icons for volume, network connectivity and universal access (how do I get rid of that btw)? Thanks

There's two options: Tim Hortons WiFi Basic and Tim Hortons WiFi Plus, where the "Plus" option allows me to connect to any Tim Hortons WiFi access point in Canada automatically with this device. Registration requires an email address, so I'm assuming this is possible by checking the MAC address and storing it in a database that routers ping upon connection. More info here. According to the extension of this page, I can safely assume it is ASP. How are they obtaining this information?

• Extrange gray rectangle when debugging with monodevelop

  when I debug with Monodevelop, in Linux Mint, most of the times I get a small gray rectangle on top of the screen. It stays there, on top of any other application even If I minimize monodevelop. It won't go away until I close it. If I click on it, the elements in the background receive the events. I get this problem in two different machines, both with Mint 13 and monodevelop 2.6 and 3. How can I get rid of it?

• Jquery fadeOut looking different in FF than in Chrome/Safari

  Hey all, i have a page that when a user desides to delete a company, it fades out using the jquery fadeOut() command. This works great and does as it should in FireFox but for some reason it doesn't do the same in Chrome/Safari browsers. The problem is that i have a png image overlay on top of the company logo image that also fades out with the company logo. But if there are more than one company logo on the page, it moves the others in the place where the one got deleted. Like i said, it works fine (and as it should) in Firefox and even IE (SHOCK!) but not in Chrome or Safari. • java TrayIcon using image with transparent background

  I am using the following code to set a tray icon in Windows and Linux. It works wonderful in Windows and works okay in Linux.
