• How can I use a DVI splitter cable on 1 DVI port?

  I have a GTX 275 video card with 2 DVI ports. I already run 2 monitors, but I've seen cables that plug into one DVI port and split into 2 more connectors. Is there some special trick to getting this to work with my card so I could have up to 4 monitors running? I don't really want to buy the adapter until I know that it will work (or not work as it may be).

• Hard Drive Physical Disc Swap

  Is it possible, and if so, what would it take to do a hard drive disc swap? If a HD has a damaged PCB board, but the actual disc inside the drive where all the information is stored is not damaged, is it possible to take that disc and put it in another hard drive whose PCB board is not damaged? (as long as both are the same type, SATA to SATA, etc.) Can this be done at home? Any special requirements?

• How to mount a compressed ISO image?

  I have problem to mount a compressed (ISZ) image under Linux, which was created by e.g. UltraISO? I am aware about user-space fuseiso, but it fails to mount these images, as I have reported in Debian bugtracker (correct me if I ddi something wrong). I ask the community for a help: I need a proved solution to mount these images without decompressing them. I believe that CONFIG_ZISOFS kernel option cannot help, as it refers a special RockRidge extension (per-file compression with mkisofs -z or mkzftree).

It seems as though they require local administrator privileges to do so, however Ive been instructed not to give them that. They can print normally from their desktop without issue. Is there some special permission to allow citrix to print through to local/network printers short of granting local admin to these users?

  Hi experts, I'm having an issue with my Windows Server 2008. I can successfuly connect to it with FTP(port 21), remote desktop(whatever the port number is), https but not with simple http or port 80, from the outside of my LAN. Is there some settings I don't know about regarding this special port on the firewall or on IIS7? For your information, I can connect to port 80 as long as I'm on the same LAN, but as soon as the request come from the outside, I get nothing... Please help Thank you

• How to burn a 8.5GB ISO?

  I have an ISO image of a DVD which is 8.5GB in size. I find this strange, because that is about 500MB more than a standard DL DVD can hold. I tried overburning with Nero, but it failed. Is it possible to somehow burn such an image? Are there some special DVD blanks that allow you to write more? Or is this ISO simply made by some tool without any regards of whether it can be burned or not?

  I have 2 USB DVD drives. One that I borrowed from work which I have been testing with which works fine for me, which is why I brought one of myself. When I try and mount my new dvd drive this happens: [18:06:45][arcath@londinium][~] sudo mount /dev/sr0 /mnt/dvd/ mount: special device /dev/sr0 does not exist /dev/sr0 is only in the list when the drive is attached and it works on other machines using the same cables so it must be something with my server. Introducing delays or packet loss is quite simple but I got into trouble trying to configure bandwidth limiting. Can you, please, show me how to limit all the traffic going through my bridge without any special rules and condition, simply limit it to 1Mb/s? Thanks.   I recently switched to using a Git repository within Eclipse (Juno SR2), using EGit. In our project, some file names contains umlauts and other special non-ASCII-characters. On the command line, git status show no changes, workspace clean, but Eclipse marks those files as changed: How can I make Eclipse/EGit use the correct encoding for filenames? I tried setting LANG, file.encoding and the git config svn.pathnameencoding all to no avail. And again, on the command line there are no such errors.

• Not all pages are printed in IE8

  I have created a print.css, which doesn't include anything special, just some blocks are hidden for print media and some are visible. So no css code here. The problem is that when I'm trying to print or check a print preview, some of the pages (2 of 4) are not printed neither previewed. But when I'm changing a scale to smaller number than 100% (80%, 90%) all pages are shown and printed. So does anybody met the same problem - is this just an IE issue?

  I am looking for a way to use USB key on a guest OS running on a 5.6 Xen Server environment. The catch is that I need to actually detect in the Guest OS (Win2003 Server) like an actual USB Key. Attaching it as a storage drive doesnt work (It is a key with special attributes that servers as a licensing mechanism). Just wondering if anyone has had a similar need and found a good solution? • Use a RAID Controller without drivers?

  Ordered an Adaptec 1420SA RAID card for my Debian Squeeze media server but didn't check to see if it was compatible, turns out it's not because it uses something called hostRAID which requires special drivers that aren't available for Debian. Could I still use the card as an ordinary controller and just use OS software RAID?? I'm not looking for speed, just need to mirror some drives that will be used for storage, the OS will reside on a disk connected to the server's onboard controller so the system won't be booting from any drives on the Adaptec controller.

• Remove some junk characters from server console log.

  Please look in to the picture,here am trying to open(with vi editor) my server console log file(around 100MB) and it takes more than two minutes to open with so many special characters.after deleting the first line (means typing "dd")then i can easily view the file and size of the file is also reduced very much.My server OS is RHEL 5.4 and jboss is running in to it. Please help me to avoid such junk characters coming to my server console log files and it helps me to save my valuable space in server.

• How can I run a (16-bit) .COM executable that has been renamed to .COS?

  I'm trying to run a couple of 16-bit legacy DOS programs from a standard windows XP dos prompt. The problem is that the file extensions have been renamed from .COM to .COS and they are stored on read-only media and I can't copy them (special environment). Any tips on how to invoke such files despite the weird extension? If they had been 32-bit EXEs, it wouldn't have been an issue running them even without their proper extensions, but with these COM files, I'm unable to find a way to run them.

  I have a large flowchart, created in LibreOffice Draw (3.3.1), that I would like to copy all of the text from. I do not need, nor care about the order or structure, I just need all of the text from within the blocks. I can't seem to find any way to export without turning it into an image, and none of the "Paste Special" options allow me to get unformatted text. • Difference to connect to LDAP by BindDn or by username

  We have an application which can only connect to a LDAP (AD) by using the BindDn. When I try to connect from the server which host the application using a simple LDAP client (LDAPAdmin) it connects sucessfully. Recently the sysadmin change the AD (probably to a new machine and new version) but we cannot connect to it using the BindDn anymore, we did not change anything on the settings (BindDn string) except the ldap url pointing to the new server. Is there a special setting on the LDAP server side to enable to connect using BindDn?

• Will any USB DVD reader work with Apple Mac's?

  Following on from this question: Can Apple Macintosh computers boot from a USB volume? Can I use any USB 2.0 DVD drive to boot a Mac from? I had a look around my local PC World today and only the more expensive drives explicitly state on the packaging that they were Mac compatible. Is this just because these products have been through Apple's hardware approval/testing programme, or do Mac's have some special requirement?
