• Using Jquery UI Tab control in ASP.NET MVC

    - by mike3333
    I am new to jquery and am trying out UI plugins. For some reason this following code does not work, in the sense, it does not render the tabs and it's just a bunch of text. But when I copy the page source and paste it in the html page, and put it in the views folder, everything looks great, so , I assume all the js paths are good. Any ideas?  Details $(document).ready(function() { $("#tabs").tabs(); });

Text 1

Text 2

Text 3

tab1 content - adsfadfadsf

tab 2 content -adfadfadf

tab 3 content -adfadfadfadf

  • Clickable LI overrules links within the LI

    - by Kenneth B
    Hello guys and gals... I have a LI with some information, including some links. I would like jQuery to make the LI clickable, but also remain the links in the LI. The Clickable part works. I just need the links within to work as well. NOTE: They work if you right click and choose "Open in new tab". HTML

Some info with links Imerco
jQuery $(document).ready(function() { $("#onskeliste li").click( function() { window.location = $(this).attr("url"); return false; }); })(jQuery); I've found a simular question here, but it doesn't seem to solve my problem. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/180211/jquery-div-click-with-anchors Can you help me?? :-) Thank you in advance...

  • jQuery Drag/Drop problem: mousemove Event not binding for some elements

    - by saturdayplace
    Using the latest jQuery/UI that are hosted at Google. I've got the following markup:

One

Two

And the following javascript: $(document).ready(function(){ // Droppable callbacks function dragOver(overEvent, ui_object) { $(this).mousemove(function(moveEvent){ console.log("moved over", this); }); } function drop_deactivate() { $(this).unbind(); } function drag_out() { $(this).unbind(); } // Actual dragging $("#treeContainer li").draggable({ revert: true, revertDuration: 0 }); // Actuall dropping $("a").droppable({ tolerance: "pointer", over: dragOver, deactivate: drop_deactivate, out: drag_out }); }); If I drag the first li down over the second, the mousemove function fires (and firebug logs the output). But if I drag the second li up over the first, the mousemove function doesn't fire. You can see this live at http://jsbin.com/ivala. Is there a reason for this? Should I be trapping the mousemove event in some other way? Edit: It appears as thought the mousemove() event isn't binding for earlier elements than the one currently being dragged (should be bound upon their mouseover).

  • Mvc2 validation summary and required metadata

    - by Arnis L.
    source code... Thing is, if i specify required metadata using fluent modelmetadata provider like this= public class Foo { public string Bar { get; set; } } public class FooModelMetadataConfiguration : ModelMetadataConfiguration<Foo> { public FooModelMetadataConfiguration() { Configure(x => x.Bar) .Required("lapsa") ; } } And write this into my view = <% Html.BeginForm(); %> <%= Html.ValidationSummary() %> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(x=>x.Bar) %> <% Html.EndForm(); %> And add this to home controller = [HttpPost] public ActionResult Index(Foo foo) { ViewData["Message"] = "Welcome to ASP.NET MVC!"; return View(foo); } It will output this html =

lapsa

The Bar field is required.

I can't understand why 2nd error is rendered and how to omit it. Author of System.Web.Mvc.Extensibility framework replied with = I think this is a known issue of asp.net mvc, i could not remember the exact location where I have read it, I suggest you post the issue in asp.net mvc issue tracker over codeplex. But before i post anything on issue tracker - i would like to understand first what exactly is wrong. Any help with that?

  • How to use "this" and not "this" selectors in qQuery

    - by tg4FSI
    I have 4 divs with content like below:
content

content

content

content
And a navigation list like this:

When the page is first displayed I show all the content by executing this: $('div.prodNav-Usage-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Guarantee-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-FAQ-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Info-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); Now, when you click the navigation list item it reveals the clicked content and hides the others, like this: $('.prodNav-Info').click( function() { $('div.prodNav-Info-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Usage-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Guarantee-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); $('div.prodNav-FAQ-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); }); So what I have is 4 separate functions because I do not know which content is currently displayed. I know this is inefficient and can be done with a couple of lines of code. It seems like there is a way of saying: when this is clicked, hide the rest. Can I do this with something like $(this) and $(not this)? Thanks, Erik

  • Jquery ui sortable clone helper not working

    - by Jeremy Seekamp
    Maybe I don't understand how clone works with sortable, but here is what I would like to do. When sorting an item I would like a clone of the item I am dragging remain until I stop drop the item in its new position. • Forcing an item to remain in place in a jQuery UI Sortable list

    - by calumbrodie
    I've set up a jQuery sortable list but I need to be able to keep some items in the sortable 'fixed' in place and for the other items to sort around them. I thought that there would be built in methods to achieve this, alas this is not the case. I'm able to set up the list and not include the items in question:

apples

oranges

bananas

pineapples

grapes

pears

mango

  This stops me from drag/dropping these items but they still move if the items around them are sorted. There may be a way to do this using the many callbacks that this method has but I've been unable to work this out. Maybe this method would be a good addition to the UI Sortable options?

  • Horizontal menu vertical padding on anchor tag doesn't take affect

    - by Levi
    I am wondering why in the following example the top and bottom padding has no affect on the anchor tag while the left and right does?

One

Two

Three

Four

Five

#nav{ list-style:none; } #nav li{ border:1px solid #666; display:inline; /*If you do it this way you need to set the top and bottom padding to be the same here as under #nav li a padding:8px 0; */ } #nav li a{ padding:8px 16px; } Example: Link So my main question is, why does the top and bottom padding not have an effect on the list items while the left and right do? I did try this out with a float instead of a display:inline on the list item and it worked as I expected it to. So I guess if I had a secondary question it would be what is the difference between a float:left; and a display:inline? I was reading the float spec and it sounds like a float is still a box online inline so somewhat like inline-block? I appreciate any input, this isn't really something I need to know to finish a project or anything, but I would like to know why. Thanks Levi

  • Fade out when user leaves page — jquery

    - by Tom Julian Hume
    I have some simple page transitions that fade in, once the user has landed. However, I'm also trying to make the same page fade out, when the user leaves. I have found a few solutions, but they appeared to use delay(). Are there any that don't? Thanks for any help, (I'm new to this, mind!) Tom :) I am currently using this code: $(document).ready( function(){ $( 'body' ).fadeIn(2000); $('#stop').click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); }); $('#clients').click(function() { $("#projectinfo").slideUp('slow'); $("#us").fadeOut('slow'); $("ul").fadeToggle('slow'); }); $('#information').click(function() { $("#projectinfo").slideUp('slow'); $("ul").fadeOut('slow'); $("#us").fadeToggle('slow'); }); $('#question').click(function() { $("#projectinfo").slideToggle('slow'); }); $('#question').hover(function() { $("#projectinfo").slideToggle('slow'); }); $("a").click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); linkLocation = this.href; $("body").fadeOut(1000, redirectPage); }); function redirectPage() { });

  • Shopify: Replacing Product Radio Buttons With Dropdown Select

    - by Wade D Ouellet
    Hi, With Shopify I am trying to alter my product template to display a dropdown select list instead of radio buttons for my product variants. I managed to do this but when you try and add a product to the cart from the list it says, "No variant ID was passed." Here is the code for their radio buttons:
{% for variant in product.variants %}
{% if variant.available %} <input type="radio" name="id" value="{{variant.id}}" id="radio_{{variant.id}}" style="vertical-align: middle;" {%if forloop.first%} checked="checked" {%endif%} /> {{ variant.sku }} {%if variant.title != 'Default' %}{{ variant.title }} for {%endif%} {{ variant.price | money_with_currency }} {% else %} <del style="margin-left: 26px">{{ variant.title }}</del> Sold Out! {% endif %}
{% endfor %}
Here is the code for my dropdown select at this point:  {% for variant in product.variants %}
{% if variant.available %} {{ variant.sku }} {%if variant.title != 'Default' %}{{ variant.title }} for {%endif%} {{ variant.price | money_with_currency }} {% else %} <del style="margin-left: 26px">{{ variant.title }}</del> Sold Out! {% endif %}
{% endfor %}  Thanks, Wade

  • Jquery hide show list

    - by faxtion
    Having few issues with a jquery hide show item. Got a list of images, want to show the first one but hide the rest and when the user clicks next the current one is hidden and then the next list item is shown. Been banging head against wall for a while, and there is probably a very easy solution but for some reason I am unable to see it. Would be grateful of any advice. $(function() { $('#feat>li:gt(0)').hide(); var $links = $('#feat>li'); var $item = $('#feat>li'); $links.click(function() { var $par = $(this); $par.slideUp(700, function() { var index = $links.index( $par.get(0) ) $item.eq( index ).slideDown(700); }); }); });

Next

Next

Next

  • Having a hard time implementing jquery serialScroll to a website. Need help!

    - by Martin Defatte
    Here's the page I am attempting to implement it on. www.yosoh.com/2010/advertising/beyond/ I have a custom script with figures out the width of all the images, adds it up, then sets the width of that page... I'd like to be able to set the arrows at the top to scroll to the next div (div.portfolioImage). I've followed Ariel Fischer's demo and documentation as best I can... but something keeps escaping me. I've finally gotten some "movement" on page load.. but to tell you the truth, I can't figure out if it's my html structure, css styles, or implementation of serialScroll causing the issue. here's the code for the buttons:

←

→

Here's the script, as it is right now: $('#mainContent').css('overflow', 'hidden'); $('#mainContent').serialScroll({ items:'.portfolioItem', prev:'a#prev', next:'a#next', axis: 'x', duration:1200, force:true, stop:true, lock:false, easing:'easeOutQuart', jump: true });

  • Loading JSON-encoded AJAX content into jQuery UI tabs

    - by pocketfullofcheese
    We want our of our AJAX calls in our web app to receive JSON-encoded content. In most places this is already done (e.g. in modals) and works fine. However, when using jQueryUI's tabs (http://jqueryui.com/demos/tabs/) and their ajax functionality, only plaintext HTML can be returned (i.e. from the URLs specified in the a tags below). How do I get the tab function to recognize that on each tab's click, it will be receiving JSON-encoded data from the specified URL, and to load in the .content index of that JSON? $(function() { $('div#myTabs').tabs(); });

Tab one

Tab two

  • Regex to remove conditional comments

    - by cnu
    I want a regex which can match conditional comments in a HTML source page so I can remove only those. I want to preserve the regular comments. I would also like to avoid using the .*? notation if possible. The text is foo bar and I want to remove everything in EDIT: It is because of BeautifulSoup I want to remove these tags. BeautifulSoup fails to parse and gives an incomplete source EDIT2: [if IE] isn't the only condition. There are lots more and I don't have any list of all possible combinations. EDIT3: Vinko Vrsalovic's solution works, but the actual problem why beautifulsoup failed was because of a rogue comment within the conditional comment. Like <![endif]--> Notice the comment? Though my problem was solve, I would love to get a regex solution for this.

  • Help with understanding generic relations in Django (and usage in Admin)

    - by saturdayplace
    I'm building a CMS for my company's website (I've looked at the existing Django solutions and want something that's much slimmer/simpler, and that handles our situation specifically.. Plus, I'd like to learn this stuff better). I'm having trouble wrapping my head around generic relations. I have a Page model, a SoftwareModule model, and some other models that define content on our website, each with their get_absolute_url() defined. I'd like for my users to be able to assign any Page instance a list of objects, of any type, including other page instances. This list will become that Page instance's sub-menu. I've tried the following: class Page(models.Model): body = models.TextField() links = generic.GenericRelation("LinkedItem") @models.permalink def get_absolute_url(self): # returns the right URL class LinkedItem(models.Model): content_type = models.ForeignKey(ContentType) object_id = models.PositiveIntegerField() content_object = generic.GenericForeignKey('content_type', 'object_id') title = models.CharField(max_length=100) def __unicode__(self): return self.title class SoftwareModule(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=100) description = models.TextField() def __unicode__(self): return self.name @models.permalink def get_absolute_url(self): # returns the right URL This gets me a generic relation with an API to do page_instance.links.all(). We're on our way. What I'm not sure how to pull off, is on the page instance's change form, how to create the relationship between that page, and any other extant object in the database. My desired end result: to render the following in a template:
{% for link in page.links.all %}
{{ link.title }}
{% endfor%}
Obviously, there's something I'm unaware of or mis-understanding, but I feel like I'm, treading into that area where I don't know what I don't know. What am I missing?

  • Textbox autofill not in correct position in safari

    - by jerjer
    Hello All, Has anyone experience this weird issue on safari? Textbox autofill is not at its correct position, please see screenshot below. I have been searching for answers in google for almost a day, still no luck. This is the built-in autofill feature of safari. Here is the markup: index.php

....

add_user.php
....

Add User (Admin only)
Please enter First and Last Name.

* Email

* First Name

* Last Name
....

I am suspecting that this is caused by the iframe, but it works just fine in other browsers. Also I could not change the page design(using iframe) right away for practical reasons. Thanks

I now want to use django-filebrowser with django-tinymce, but I keep getting a weird javascript error when I click on "Image URL" in the Image popup: r is undefined the error is js/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js My settings.py file has the following configuration: TINYMCE_JS_URL=MEDIA_URL + 'js/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js' TINYMCE_DEFAULT_CONFIG = { 'mode': "textareas", 'theme': "advanced", 'language': "en", 'skin': "o2k7", 'dialog_type': "modal", 'object_resizing': True, 'cleanup_on_startup': True, 'forced_root_block': "p", 'remove_trailing_nbsp': True, 'theme_advanced_toolbar_location': "top", 'theme_advanced_toolbar_align': "left", 'theme_advanced_statusbar_location': "none", 'theme_advanced_buttons1': "formatselect,styleselect,bold,italic,underline,bullist,numlist,undo,redo,link,unlink,image,code,template,visualchars,fullscreen,pasteword,media,search,replace,charmap", 'theme_advanced_buttons2': "", 'theme_advanced_buttons3': "", 'theme_advanced_path': False, 'theme_advanced_blockformats': "p,h2,h3,h4,div,code,pre", 'width': '700', 'height': '300', 'plugins': "advimage,advlink,fullscreen,visualchars,paste,media,template,searchreplace", 'advimage_update_dimensions_onchange': True, 'file_browser_callback': "CustomFileBrowser", 'relative_urls': False, 'valid_elements' : "" + "-p," + "a[href|target=_blank|class]," + "-strong/-b," + "-em/-i," + "-u," + "-ol," + "-ul," + "-li," + "br," + "img[class|src|alt=|width|height]," + "-h2,-h3,-h4," + "-pre," + "-code," + "-div", 'extended_valid_elements': "" + "a[name|class|href|target|title|onclick]," + "img[class|src|border=0|alt|title|hspace|vspace|width|height|align|onmouseover|onmouseout|name]," + "br[clearfix]," + "-p[class<clearfix?summary?code]," + "h2[class<clearfix],h3[class<clearfix],h4[class<clearfix]," + "ul[class<clearfix],ol[class<clearfix]," + "div[class]," } TINYMCE_FILEBROWSER = False TINYMCE_COMPRESSOR = False i've tried switching back to older versions of tinyMCE Javascript but nothing seems to work.
