Autocomplete in rails format data and display in a beatiful way

I use rails 3.2.2 and autocomplete, I m selecting customer by name and formating it in a following way format.json { render :json = @customers.map{ |c| "#{c.name}:#{c.phone1}:#{c.email}" } } so, i need to parse json properly an display in a way i want for example I want write name in but make phone smaller and bold ,display it in different color. php funciton problem

Hello, i have this little script, which should ping the IPs in the host_to_ping array. This php is called with JS in the index.html. But somethin' wrong, 'coz the $rval is always 1 (which mean the host is unreachable). But i know that the first two host is alive. So i print the $res variable, and i see the message: Need to give the IP. selectively show wordpress posts based on category

But what I'm looking for is the following; first check what category the current post (the post that is showing based on the permalink) belongs to, and then only list the latest posts that belong to that same category. My home page lists all posts from three "main categories" (parent category), but unfortunately it's also listing some posts from the sub-categories. How to have current page selection using inludes navigation

I am using php includes to limit redundancy on my pages, how can I have my navigation have the current page selected with say a certain color for the HOME button when my navigation is called from a header.php file. If i were to say to add a "active" class to the home.php item and add a style so it looked different, that would happen across the board for all my pages, which is why I am using includes in the first place, how can I have one header.php file with my navigation, that also allows each page the ability to show the current page you are on reflected in the navigation? JQuery Dragging Outside Parent

I'm using JQuery's draggable(); to make li elements draggable. The only problem is when the element is dragged outside its parent, it doesn't show up. That is, it doesn't leave the confines of its parent div. An example is here: http://imgur.com/N2N1L.png - it's as if the z-index for everything else has greater priority (and the element slides under everything). Hello I got a menu which can foldout and show some content based on the menu item. Prevent default on a click within a JQuery tabs in Google Chrome.

I would like to prevent the default behaviour of a click on a link. I tried the return false; also javascript:void(0); in the href attribute but it doesn’t seem to work. It works fine in Firefox, but not in Chrome and IE. Hi guys, I'm creating a gallery of images pulled in via a twitter image hosting service, and I want to show a loading graphic before they are displayed, but the logic seems to be failing me. I'm trying to do it the following way: <ul> <li> <div class="holder loading"> </div> </li> <li> <div class="holder loading"> </div> </li> <li>...</li> <li>...</li> </ul> Where there "loading" class has an animated spinner set as it's background image. JQuery: $('.holder').each(function(){ var imgsrc = http://example.com/imgsrc; var img = new Image(); $(img).load(function () { $(this).hide(); $(this).parent('.holder').removeClass('loading'); $(this).parent().append(this); $(this).fadeIn(); }) .error(function () { }).attr('src', imgsrc); }); Which isn't working - I'm not sure that the logic is correct and how to access the "holder" from inside the img.load nested function. What would be the best way to build this gallery so that the images display only after they've been loaded?

Hello, I was looking at the pagination script (posted below) and found it to be gros,s and not very good at all especially when trying to customize it. I am trying to put something like this on a separate page like count_page.php and then just include it. I guess my question is, if there is a better way of doing the above with better structure. A better way to go through the db and count the results and display the appropriate numbers. The above seems messy. Thanks for any help or suggestions on this.

Paperclip failing to upload on specific scaffold, yet works on others

I know there are tons of questions about paperclip, but I failed to find the answer to my problem. I know its prob just something simple, but I I'm running out of hair to pull out. I have paperclip working on other parts of my project, they work with no problem, however, a certain scaffold fails to upload, all the attributes to the uploaded file are nil. Here are the relevant information. Model: has_attached_file :foo, :styles => { :thumb => "140x140>" }, :url => "/data/:id/:style/:basename.:extension", :path => ":rails_root/public/data/:id/:style/:basename.:extension" View: <% form_for(@bar, :html => { :multipart => true }) do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> ---------- <li><%= f.label :top %> <%= f.file_field :foo %></li> ---------- <ul><%= f.submit "Save" %></ul> <% end %> Also, comparing the logs to the parts that work, the :foo attribute seems to be passing different values than in the ones that work. In the logs, when the paperclip function works, it looks like this "image"=>#<File:/var/folders/M5/M5HEb+WhFxmqNDGH5s-pNE+++TI/-Tmp-/RackMultipart20100512-1302-5e2e6e-0> when it does not, it seems to pass the file name directly "foo"=>"foo_image.png" I am developing locally on MacOSX using local rails and ruby libs.

Why hovering in this menu is not working in IE?

I've got a div in my app that is displayed each time my theme options panel is "saved". I'm also using jQuery to fade the message offscreen after 3 seconds. WordPress plugin to output a certain category on content page tweak help

I'm using WordPress plugin Category Page to display the most recent 5 posts from a certain category on a regular content page (not the blog page) of a website. Right now the plugin is limited to display the post title linked to the post page. This is a video blog type site and I need the plugin to display the post title (as it does now) with the video as well. Probably just telling the script to show the content would work but I don't know how to tweak it. Nerd Dinner tutorial question (can't pull data off Model)

I am just following the tutorial about NerdDinner and was stuck because when I am implementing the "Index" View Template I got no data from it. I am pretty sure there's data in the database because the details view template worked. FYI I am following the tutorial up to this page
