  How do I configure access.conf so that the following rule is applied? : Allow the user dia to connect from 192.152.100. Deny the user sim to connect from 192.152.100. Particularity : both the users dia (uid = 8389753) and sim (uid = 500) belong to the group sim (gid = 500) Yes, the user and group sim have the same name and the same id. With the follwing syntax, - : sim : 192.152.100. the user sim is denied, as well as dia (because dia belongs to the group sim). access.conf considers sim as being both the user and group. How do I specify that I want to deny the user sim, but at the same time allow the user dia ?

• best way to store 1:1 user relationships in relational database

  What is the best way to store user relationships, e.g. friendships, that must be bidirectional (you're my friend, thus I'm your friend) in a rel. database, e.g. MYSql? I can think of two ways: Everytime a user friends another user, I'd add two rows to a database, row A consisting of the user id of the innitiating user followed by the UID of the accepting user in the next column. Row B would be the reverse. You'd only add one row, UID(initiating user) followed by UID(accepting user); and then just search through both columns when trying to figure out whether user 1 is a friend of user 2. Surely there is something better?

• Unix users and permissions and how they interact with web files.

  Hello, When you issue the command ls in Linux you get this sort of thing: drwxr--r-- 1 fred editors 4096 drafts -rw-r--r-- 1 fred editors 30405 file1.php -r-xr-xr-x 1 fred fred 8460 file2.php I know that the rwxrwxrwx are the read, write and execute permissions for the current user. And I think I know that 'fred' is the user who owns the file. So I assume fred can write to file1 but no one else can. But what is the extra bit 'editors' and what is the difference between file1 and file2 with respect to one having an ownership of 'fred editors' and the other 'fred fred'? Also if a web user connects to one of the files, what is their user name and where is this decided? If the server decided that user connecting from the web was going to be fred, does this mean any web user could write to file1? Any information welcomed, I am resaerching this but just getting confused. Thanks

  I have a situation where something can appear in a format as follows: ---id-H-- Header: data Another Header: more data Message: sdasdasdasd Message: asdasdasdasd Message: asdasdasd There may be many messages, or just a couple. I'd prefer not having to step outside of RegEx, because I am using the RegEx to parse some header information above the messages and the messages along with the headers are part of the text I am parsing. The messages attached into the text might be many. I would also like to use named capture groups, so something like Message: (?<Message[index of match]>.+) Where it matches the match as many times as it can with the index filled in. Does anything like this exist in RegEx? (I will eventually be using this in Perl)

• What are good Usenet account providers, both free and paid?

  I used to access newsgroups via the Berlin university's facilities - they provided free acccounts, but that stopped a few years ago. Since then I have been using Google groups to access newsgroups but it's not the same thing as accessing Usenet via a newsreader like Pan. If any of you still access newsgroups via news readers, where is your account? Please mention if it's free or paid, if paid, how much do you pay, as well as how satisfied you are with the service. Edit: While binaries may be a reason to have a Usenet account, that's not the motivation for me. It is the ability to use the newsreader client features that Google groups doesn't provide.

• Reporting Services is displaying extra rows for minimised row groups

  Hi, I have a fairly basic SQL Server Reporting Services report that is using nested row groups. Each sub-group depends on expanding its parent to be visible which is all pretty standard. The layout is something like this: { Company { { Car SUM(Price) { { { Part Price My desired result when expanded is something like this (which I get fine): - SuperCarCompany - SuperCar 20 Door 20 - SuperCar2 70 Door 30 Window 40 - OtherCarCompany - SuperCar2 50 /* Same SuperCar2 */ Door 50 - MoreCarCompany - BestCarEver 535 Engine 500 Door 30 Window 5 And when opened initially something like this: + SuperCarCompany + OtherCarCompany + MoreCarCompany However, I'm getting this: + SuperCarCompany + SuperCar2 70 (i.e. sum of all SuperCar2) + OtherCarCompany + SuperCar 20 + MoreCarCompany + BestCarEver 535 and I can even expand these superfluous rows like this: + SuperCarCompany - SuperCar2 70 (i.e. sum of all SuperCar2) Door 30 (i.e. first child of any SuperCar2) The superflous rows dissapear immediately when I expand the expected row above it (i.e. I'd need to expand all expected rows to get rid of all superflous rows). Any idea on the cause?

• Two people using the same computer at the same time remotely!

  We have two computer in office and two people. My computer is much more faster than another computer. Is it possible my colleague connect to my computer remotely and work by my computer? Using "Remote Desktop" in Windows only one user can log into computer. So when he connect remotely, my user logged off. Is there a tool which can help in this case? I already knew VNC (RealVNC) But it's not helping because when a user connect to my computer, he see exactly my desktop, not his own user desktop.

  There should be a standard for saving viewing bunches of webpages as a website. For instance, say I have a whole bunch of pages, such as I get from the WordPress plugin "Really Static" which saves an entire site, and I have all the links start with a slash. Now, I can't really use those links if I am reading it from the file system. If there would be a standard where we could zip up files, give them a unique extension (like "hzip" for html zip), and open the file with any browser, which would display it as though the root of that file were the root of the pages. "http://example.com" The links would all work right. This would facilitate sharing and copying groups of webpages.

• how to resume facebook session key after user change facebook password

  hey i have iphone application that using facebook connect. users login to the iphone application using facebook connect. and then i receive their sessionKey back to my server, and i am using the sesssionkey to post actions to users wall. the iphone application keeps the user logged in allways. which means that every times the user will open the application, he will not need to make login again. the problem is that, when the user change his facebook password the user sessionKey also changes. and when the user enter to my iphone applicaiton, the user is shown as loggedin, and then i recieve to my server the user old sessionkey, and when i try to post to the user wall facebook tells me that the session is inavlid. it is ok because the user change his password and the session changes too. my question is how can i check in the iphone if the session key has changed ? and if it changes to promote the user to make login again.

• iOS Facebook Access Token To Get User Wall Feed (status)

  [DISCLAIMER : None of the access token or ID below here are real] I've done research for three solid days and no result on how to get user wall feed(post). I have used https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?client_id=YOUR_APP_ID&client_secret=YOUR_APP_SECRET&grant_type=client_credentials and get the access token which is something like this access_token=454345994651138|bAMGfuW-ueNXGCahley7ga125HN and then https://graph.facebook.com/100005939123542/feed?access_token=454345994651138|bAMGfuW-ueNXGCahley7ga125HN It gives me general information such as user's likes, name, id, current city... but NOT user's wall posts. I've learned that there are three types of access token, which is App Token, User Token, and Page Token. In order to get user/feed by using graphAPI, I need to request to get User Token, but there's NO information in the lousy Facebook Doc! (Which frustrated me the most!) In order to generate the user access token, we need to set some permission, generate the access token, and GET the user's wall feed, which is in JSON format. My question is : How do I get the User Access Token in order to get user wall post in iOS Xcode?

• problem getting scanning to work on epson workforce 610

  i installed the latest epson software on my user's computer. everything works fine from the admin account (printing / scanning). yet, when i go to user's account (the standard user mode account the company employee uses on there machine) and launch the epson scan software or scan settings software it times out and puts up a dialog box asking me if i want to use the trouble assistant. my question is why would this all work in the admin account yet not work in the user mode account? any help is greatly appreciated.

• Creating a Group of Groups in Django

  I'm creating my own Group model; I'm not referring to the builtin Group model. I want each hroup to be a member of another group (it's parent), but there is the one "top" group that doesn't have a parent group. The admin interface won't let me create a group without entering a parent. I get the error personnel_group.parent_id may not be NULL. My Group model looks like this: class Group(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50) parent = models.ForeignKey('self', blank=True, null=True) order = models.IntegerField() icon = models.ImageField(upload_to='groups', blank=True, null=True) description = models.TextField(blank=True, null=True) How can I accomplish this? • Matching up HomeGroup users created in different versions of Windows

  In our household, we have 2 laptops and a desktop, all currently on Windows 8.1. The desktop has been upgraded in stages from Windows 7. Laptop 1 was bought with Windows 8 and has now been upgraded. Laptop 2 is new and came with Windows 8.1. We've been trying to set up a HomeGroup such that we have one user on laptop 1, one on laptop 2 and both can log into the desktop, with each user able to edit their files on their laptop and desktop, while the other user has read-only access. And we now have that situation ... except ... because the user on laptop 1 was created in Windows 8 but the same user on the desktop was created in 8.1, they have different names in Windows Explorer (say, firstuser and first_000). Likewise, the other use was created on laptop 2 in Windows 8.1 and on the desktop in Windows 7 (so let's say secon_000 and seconduser). This is ultimately confusing. Now if we expand the HomeGroup, we get four users (firstuser, first_000, seconduser and secon_000) and each has a single computer inside it. What I'd like to see is firstuser = laptop1, desktop and seconduser = laptop2, desktop. An acceptable alternative is first_000 = laptop1, desktop and secon_000 = laptop2, desktop. But what I don't want to have to do is delete firstuser and seconduser and rebuild them. Is there a better way?

• Some Windows XP users can't open any programs

  On my Windows XP PC several user accounts have been created (five to be exact), of these one has all the built-in programs disabled. When I click to open any of these programs it searches to find the program. This is bizarre because all the other users can open these programs just fine. Thinking that the user account is corrupted I created a new user and this new account has the same problem. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

  I would like to calculate distance between two groups. I am very confused. I have a two data sets. One is about a company and one is about employees. I would like to find out how their age( a company in which an employee is hired and an employee) are similar or not. I think I need to standarize also.. calcuate euclidean distance between each person and a company. (4-5 people in a company) calculate euclidean distance between each person and a company in industry level. My dataset is like this: person person_age company company_age insustry 1 50 1 5 1 2 40 1 5 1 3 30 2 1 1 4 20 2 1 1 5 25 3 8 2 Please help me. I don't mind using SAS or R. I am very confused.

• Password not accepted when resuming from sleep

  My HP Pavilion dv-series notebook will not accept the user account password for the logged in user when resuming from sleep - message returned is Incorrect Password. Simply selecting the Switch User option reloads the login screen and allows me to log in as the same user with the same password that was originally rejected. And, yes I've tried it more than one (hundred) times in case you were thinking it's just a case of slippery fingers. Another interesting point is that it appears to be independent of the software running on the machine. Since the issue first appeared, I have done two clean installs where all HD partitions were wiped and new ones created during fresh installation of the OS. The first such clean install was of Ubuntu (Lucid) 10.04 amd-64, the second of Win 7 Pro 64 (from boxed disc and activated post install). Exactly the same symptoms, described above, are exhibited on both platforms. Have engaged in significant amount of Googling an come up empty so any ideas are welcome.

  I am pretty new to rails and basically I want to make a user registration form. I am currently using rails 3.2.3 Basically I want to make basic routes like user/register on top of basic REST route for user. Here are my routes.rb resources :user do collection do get 'register' end end And here are my rake routes: register_user_index GET /user/register(.:format) user#register user_index GET /user(.:format) user#index POST /user(.:format) user#create new_user GET /user/new(.:format) user#new edit_user GET /user/:id/edit(.:format) user#edit user GET /user/:id(.:format) user#show PUT /user/:id(.:format) user#update DELETE /user/:id(.:format) user#destroy From my understanding, since register user is on top of show, it should match with register first before going to show.   Is it possible using Linq to create a group where items fall into more than one group? Using the following trivial example: public class Data { public string ID; public int From; public int To; } And this list: List<Data> data = new List<Data>() { new Data() { ID = "A", From = 1, To = 3 }, // Call this A new Data() { ID = "B", From = 1, To = 2 }, // Call this B new Data() { ID = "C", From = 2, To = 3 } // Call this C }; I'd like to group by each possible integer in the ranges From and To (though instead of finding the min + max I could supply the query with the range I want, for example 1 to 3), and in each group would be a reference to the Data instance where the grouping int fits in its range. Hard to explain, easier to show each group and the instances I'd expect in each: [Group 1] 1 - A, B [Group 2] 2 - A, B, C [Group 3] 3 - A, C Is this possible? Or must groups be mutually exclusive?

• Silverlight User Group of Switzerland (SLUGS)

  Last Thursday, the Silverlight Firestarter event took place in Redmond, and was streamed live to a large audience worldwide (around 20’000 people). Approximately 30 if them were in Wallisellen near Zurich, in Microsoft Switzerland’s offices. This was not only a great occasion to learn more about the future of Silverlight and to see great demos, but also it was the very first meeting of the Silverlight User Group of Switzerland (SLUGS). Having 30 people for a first meeting was a great success, especially if we consider that it was REALLY cold that night, that it had snowed 20 cm the night before! We all had a good time, and 3 lucky winners went back home with a prize: One LG Optimus 7 Windows Phone and two copies of Silverlight 4 Unleashed. Congratulations to the winners! After the keynote (which went in a whirlwind, shortest 90 minutes ever!), we all had pizza and beverages generously sponsored by the Swiss DPE team, of which not less than 5 guys came to the event! Thanks to Stefano, Ronnie, Sascha, Big Mike and Ken for attending! We decided to have meetings every month. Stay tuned for announcements on when and where the events will take place. We are also in the process of creating various groups online where the attendees can find more information.
