Not the scroll height, not the document height, the actual window height. I've tried window.innerHeight which returns undefined and document.documentElement.clientHeight which gives the scroll height.

So that header and menu don't move but the text in the box does.     Hello! Client wants some tricky stuff and i don't really know where to start with it. The idea is that there is a horizontal scrollView whose each page consists of a vertical scrollView. For example, on the horizontal axis there are galleries, on the vertical we scroll through selected gallery's images. Is this even possible? I'd be very glad to hear comments on this one!

    In C# (.Net) you can create a panel and set autoscroll to true. you can then add controls into it, including beyond it's size, then it will scroll. I was wondering if when using the real WinAPI in c++ (not .net) how one could acheive the same result. Must I keep track of the controls inside and move them all when I scroll or is there an easier way like in C#. Thanks

  • How do you make a wrapped div fill the window horizontally?

    I have a div which is contained by another 960px-wide centered div. I'm adding a background to the inner div which should expand all the way to the window's edges horizontally, essentially escaping the boundaries of its container. If I apply a large negative margin and equal amount of padding, this works on the left side, but the right side causes a scroll bar to appear. Does anyone know how I can achieve this without causing scroll bars?

    I'm trying to implement a GridView that Focuses the next Item and "Overscrolls at the End of a List. E.g. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 I want to scroll 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... just by pressing the right Key. Right now I can only Scroll 1 2 3 and then it stops and I have to scroll with the down Key. I already tried to set the focusViews in code (In the getView() method of my ArrayList Adapter, that fills the GridView) view.setId(position); view.setNextFocusLeftId(position-1); view.setNextFocusRightId(position+1); But that doesn't work. I found the boolean *Scroll(int direction) Methods on grepcode But theese are Package Local and I can't overwrite them. Any suggestions on how to solve this. Can I use another View and get the same Layout as a Gridview? I also set a OnFocusChangeListener to see what happens with no reaction. I've tried overflow:hidden but that just disables the scrolling of the page. I'd still want the texts to scroll without showing the scroll bars.   • Connecting PC to TV via HDMI/DVI: Windows XP doesn't allow the appropriate screen resolution

    I have a computer that is connected to the living room TV (a Panasonic) via HDMI. There is no other monitor connected. My problem is that the computer, which is running Windows XP, does not allow me to set the proper resolution for the TV. Both the graphics adapter and the TV should support the 1280x720 resolution, but it cannot be selected - the only available options are 1280x600 and 800x600, both in the "native" Windows dialog box and the custom Intel graphics options dialog box. Do anyone have a suggestion for a solution for this? Things I've thought of: Setting the resolution directly in the registry (where?) Installing some "custom" monitor driver (the TV manufacturer does not appear to provide any, currently the "generic" one is used) Details on the setup: Connection: DVI output on the computer via a passive DVI-HDMI adapter to the HDMI input on the TV, audio is run on a separate link, the TV is able to combine video and audio without any problem, the problem is there regardless of whether or not the audio is connected. The connection is several meters long through some walls, for this reason using a VGA cable instead is not an option. Note that the report explicitly says that the TV supports 1280x720. Still, I am not allowed to select it in Graphics Options, only 1280x600 and 800x600 is available. For 800x600, there's a lot of black around the edges; for 1280x600, the screen is "zoomed" so the edges of the monitor image (like the taskbar) is not visible. Other: The computer is running Windows XP. More recent versions of Windows are not an option (I have no licence). Linux is probably not an option (some of the video streaming sites I plan to use do not support it, I think) I wrote the rest of the details below. Thanks for any help!! TV: Panasonic TX-L32X10Y, European version; a 720p 32" quite "regular" LCD TV.     I've been given the task to create a simple Silverlight chat box for two people. My control must adhere to the following requirements Scrollable Text must wrap if it's too long When a new item / message is added it must scroll that item into view Now I've successfully made a usercontrol to meet these requirements, but I've run into a possible bug / crash that I can't for the life of me fix. I'm looking for either a fix to the bug, or a different approach to creating a scrollable chat control. Here's the code I've been using. We'll start with my XAML for the chat window <ListBox x:Name="lbChatHistory" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" ScrollViewer.VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Visible" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" > <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid Background="Beige"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="70"></ColumnDefinition> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"></ColumnDefinition> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <TextBlock x:Name="lblPlayer" Foreground="{Binding ForeColor}" Text="{Binding Player}" Grid.Column="0"></TextBlock> <ContentPresenter Grid.Column="1" Width="200" Content="{Binding Message}" /> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> The idea is to add a new Item to the listbox. The Item (as layed out in the XAML) is a simple 2 column grid. One column for the username, and one column for the message. Now the "items" that I add to the ListBox is a custom class. It has three properties (Player, ForeColor, and Message) that I using binding on within my XAML Player is a string of the current user to display. ForeColor is just a foreground color preference. It helps distinguish the difference between messages. Message is a WrapPanel. I programmatically break the supplied string on the white space for each word. Here's the simple method. It takes the above ChatMessage class as a parameter public void AddChatItem( ChatMessage msg ) { lbChatHistory.Items.Add( msg ); lbChatHistory.ScrollIntoView( msg ); } Now I've tested this and it all works. The problem I'm getting is when I use the scroll bar. You can scroll down using the side scroll bar or arrow keys, but when you scroll up Silverlight crashes. FireBug returns a ManagedRuntimeError #4004 with a XamlParseException. I'm soo close to having this control work, I can taste it! Any thoughts on what I should do or change? Is there a better approach than the one I've taken? Thanks in advance. UPDATE I've found an alternative solution using a ScrollViewer and an ItemsControl instead of a ListBox control. For the most part it's stable.
