  • Managing timezone in php with ics date/time format

    Ok, I'm using an ICS parser utility to parse google calendar ICS files. It works great, except google is feeding me the times of the events at UCT.. so I need to subtract 5 hours now, and 6 hours when daylight savings happens. To get the start time I'm using: $timestart = date("g:iA",strtotime(substr($event['DTSTART'], 9, -3))); //$event['DTSTART'] feeds me back the date in ICS format: 20100406T200000Z So any suggestions how to handle timezone and daylight savings time?   • Run Google-apps-script on Google-Spreadsheet event?

    If I create a Google apps script, can I hook it up to Google spreadsheet to run based on an event, or must I manually invoke it? I don't know if Google spreadsheet supports any events. For example: a Google app script that strikes out rows in the spreadsheet that have been marked completed by way of a column having the digit 1 beside completed rows. I would like this to run whenever a row is modified, or even when the spreadsheet is first loaded.

  • ScriptManager ServiceReference loading animation

    I'm using a ScriptManager / ServiceReference to call as ASMX from client side code, just like the Calling Web Services from Client Script in ASP.NET AJAX example. Is there an easy way to show/hide a loading animation when I'm fetching data from the web service? I could show it when I call the service, and hide it in the callback. Is there an event I can attach to? I like the way JQuery has Ajax events for this sort of thing.

    Does anyone know if I can hack google's visualization ColumnChart api chart somehow, to make a single column stand out with a different color, like so: I know you can do it with ImageChart, so I don't need that (it fires no events and has no x/y labels). Can I traverse the result with javascript somehow and change the CSS style, if it is truly rendered in SVG?

  • XAML ToolTip + IsHitTestVisible="False"

    We need to have mouse clicks and drags "ignored" by our View1 but the ToolTip must still function in that view. The reason is View1 is above View2 in Z-Order, so View1 can tint View2 a red color and show a warning via ToolTip; however the ToolTip accompanying View1 will not work if IsHitTestVisible="False". Anyone know a work around so the ToolTip will display on mouse move/over and the rest of mouse events are ignored by View1 and go to View2? Thanks, Sean

  • How to provide an own UIWindow subclass as the main window in an iPhone app?

    For inspecting all events posted to the views of the window, I want to make a subclass of UIWindow and make that -keyAndVisible in the app delegate. However, my project already came with an nasty MainWindow.xib file ;-) so I find it hard to do that now, since that nib guy is creating the window. Is there any way I can get rid of this MainWindow.xib? Or is there another way to have an subclass of UIWindow in place?

  • DataTable identity column not set after DataAdapter.Update/Refresh on table with "instead of"-trigge

    Within our unit tests we use plain ADO.NET (DataTable, DataAdapter) for preparing the database resp. checking the results, while the tested components themselves run under NHibernate 2.1. .NET version is 3.5, SqlServer version is 2005. The database tables have identity columns as primary keys. Some tables apply instead-of-insert/update triggers (this is due to backward compatibility, nothing I can change). The triggers generally work like this: create trigger dbo.emp_insert on dbo.emp instead of insert as begin set nocount on insert into emp ... select @@identity end The insert statement issued by the ADO.NET DataAdapter (generated on-the-fly by a thin ADO.NET wrapper) tries to retrieve the identity value back into the DataRow: exec sp_executesql N' insert into emp (...) values (...); select id, ... from emp where id = @@identity ' But the DataRow's id-Column is still 0. When I remove the trigger temporarily, it works fine - the id-Column then holds the identity value set by the database. NHibernate on the other hand uses this kind of insert statement: exec sp_executesql N' insert into emp (...) values (...); select scope_identity() ' This works, the NHibernate POCO has its id property correctly set right after flushing. Which seems a little bit counter-intuitive to me, as I expected the trigger to run in a different scope, hence @@identity should be a better fit than scope_identity(). So I thought no problem, I will apply scope_identity() instead of @@identity under ADO.NET as well. But this has no effect, the DataRow value is still not updated accordingly. And now for the best part: When I copy and paste those two statements from SqlServer profiler into a Management Studio query (that is including "exec sp_executesql"), and run them there, the results seem to be inverse! There the ADO.NET version works, and the NHibernate version doesn't (select scope_identity() returns null). I tried several times to verify, but to no avail. Of course this just shows the resultset coming from the database, whatever happens inside NHibernate and ADO.NET is another topic. Also, several session properties defined by T-SQL SET are different in the two scenarios (Management Studio query vs. application at runtime) This is a real puzzle to me. I would be happy about any insights on that. Thank you!

    I installed open manage on a couple of my PE 2950s for snmp monitoring of the RAID.   • Custom Control Not Playing Nice With PropertyGrid

    I have a class that is implementing a custom ToolStripItem. Everything seems to work great until I try to add the item to a ContextMenuStrip at design time. If I try to add my custom control straight from the ContextMenuStrip the PropertyGrid freezes up and will not let me modify my Checked or Text properties. But if I go into the ContextMenuStrip PropertyGrid and add my custom control through the Items(...) property, I can modify the custom control just fine within that dialog. I'm not sure if I'm missing an attribute somewhere of if its a problem with the underlying code. Here is a copy of the CustomToolStripItem class. As you can see, its a very simple class.     Hi, I'm trying to make a little console application that is able to deal with keystrokes as events. What I need is mostly the ability to get the keystrokes and be able to do something with them without dealing with the typical stdin reading functions. I tried to check the code of programs like mplayer, which implement this (for stopping the play, for example), but I can't get to the core of this with such a big code base. Thanks

  • Control third check box based on the state of the first two using jquery

    I have three check boxes and need to disable the third if either and/or of the other two are checked. I'm sure there's a easier way than what I have currently. It's turning into what I believe is a mess and I'm hoping that someone with more jquery knowledge can shine the light here. I don't understand why. This works, but one of the requirements is that a non programmer should be able to edit and maintain this. Ideally it'd be great if he could just add new check boxes to the html and it would work. The class for these are define and as far as I know can't be changed. The last check box in the list of check boxes will disable if any of the ones above are selected. Like wise if the last check box is selected, it will disable all the ones above it. I haven't even begun writing and testing that portion as this is quickly becoming too complicated for a non programmer to handle. I myself am more of a PHP coder than a js, let alone jquery, coder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • MonoTouch and CoreBluetooth Low Energy Required?

    We are making MFi hardware and an iOS app. We will want to have the BT device notify our app even if we are not running periodically when certain events happen. I know the CoreBluetooth API is the one to use, but can't tell for sure if that API only works with BT Low Energy devices or if it will also work with regular (MFi of course) BT 2.1 and higher devices. So my question is: Does the CoreBluetooth API only work with Bluetooth Low Energy devices or will it also work with 2.1 devices?
