• Debug in Eclipse - ClassNotFoundException

  Hi all, when i debug in Eclipse a simple console application, I get a lot of ClassNotFoundException lines in the debug Window. It is not an error, somewhat lower in another pane I get "Source not found.". I understand that it is because the source code of the required class is not available, buI would like to skip over these lines... I have to press a lot of times the "step over" or "step out" button to get out of these states. What can I do in order to avoid these useless lines at all? Thanks

  Hi, I have a vector of Rect: vector<Rect> myRecVec; I would like to remove the ones which are overlapping in the vector: So I have 2 nested loop like this: vector<Rect>::iterator iter1 = myRecVec.begin(); vector<Rect>::iterator iter2 = myRecVec.begin(); while( iter1 != myRecVec.end() ) { Rectangle r1 = *iter1; while( iter2 != myRecVec.end() ) { Rectangle r2 = *iter1; if (r1 != r2) { if (r1.intersects(r2)) { // remove r2 from myRectVec } } } } My question is how can I remove r2 from the myRectVect without screwing up both my iterators? Since I am iterating a vector and modifying the vector at the same time? I have thought about putting r2 in a temp rectVect and then remove them from the rectVect later (after the iteration). But how can I skip the ones in this temp rectVect during iteration?

  How can I make xargs execute the command exactly once for each line of input given? It's default behavior is to chunk the lines and execute the command once, passing multiple lines to each instance. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xargs: find /path -type f -print0 | xargs -0 rm In this example, find feeds the input of xargs with a long list of file names. xargs then splits this list into sublists and calls rm once for every sublist. This is more efficient than this functionally equivalent version: find /path -type f -exec rm '{}' \; I know that find has the "exec" flag. I am just quoting an illustrative example from another resource.

• Composite Views and View Controllers

  Hi, I'm somewhat new to Android and am in the process of designing an application with a couple fairly complex views. One of the views is intended to involve a complex view displaying information associated with model objects and segregated into several different views; the navigation of which is meant to be achieved using sliding effects (i.e. sliding one's finger across the screen to traverse from one screen to the next, etc). The view itself will be used to host multiple sets of views for varying types of model objects, but with a general structure that is reused between them all. As a rough example, the view might come up to display information about a person (the model object), displaying several details views: a view for general information, a view displaying a list of hobbies, and a view displaying a list of other individuals associated with their social network. The same general view, when given a model object representing a particular car would give several different views: A general view with details, A view containing photo images for that vehicle, a view representing locations which it could be purchased from, and a view providing a list of related cars. (NOTE: This is not the real data involved, but is representative of the general intent for the view). The subviews will NOT cover the entire screen real-estate and other features within the view should be both visible and able to be interacted with by the user. The idea here is that there is a general view structure that is reusable and which will manage a set of subviews dynamically generated based upon the type of model object handed to the view. I'm trying to determine the appropriate way to leverage the Android framework in order to best achieve this without violating the integrity of the framework. Basically, I'm trying to determine how to componentize this larger view into reusable units (i.e. general view, model-specific sub-view controllers, and individual detail views). To be more specific, I'm trying to determine if this view is best designed as a composite of several custom View classes or a composite of several Activity classes. I've seen several examples of custom composite views, but they typically are used to compose simple views without complex controllers and without attention to the general Activity lifecycle (i.e. storing and retrieving data related to the model objects, as appropriate). On the other hand, the only real example I've seen regarding a view comprised of a composite of Activities is the TabActivity itself, and that isn't customizable in the fashion that would be necessary for this. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the appropriate way to structure my view to achieve the application framework I'm looking for? Views? Activities? Something else? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• Question about Linux Device Drivers.

  I have just installed the Xubuntu. My box runs quite slower than before when installed with a Win7. I am wondering if I am missing some device drivers. I can use gnome-device-manager to list my devices. In the device list view, I saw several blue question mark on the left side of devices. Based on my windows experience, the question mark should indicate the device is not properly configured. Is it the same with gnome-device-manager? And most importantly, how could I know for sure whether or not the corresponding device drivers have been installed? Many thanks.

  I'm trying to work through this guide to Rails routing, but I got stuck in section 3.3: Creating a RESTful route will also make available a pile of helpers within your application and then they list some helpers like photos_url, photos_path, etc. My questions: Where can I find the complete list of helpers that is "made available?" Is there a way to call the helpers in the console? I created an app, then opened up the console with script/console. Currently I have a list of restaurants, and when i click on a particular restaurant I want it to open up another screen that will show its address, google map etc. What I need help with is knowing how to set click events on the items in the list. • AesCryptoServiceProvider not part of SymmetricAlgorithm?

  I have a quick little app that steps through the possible symmetric encryption methods. I get them with the following line: private static List<Type> GetAlgorithmTypes { get { return Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof(SymmetricAlgorithm)).GetTypes().Where( type => type.IsSubclassOf(typeof(SymmetricAlgorithm))).ToList(); } } As you can see when i run this, AesCryptoServiceProvider is not a member of this group, even though it inherits from AES, which does belong to SymmetricAlgorithm and shows up in my list. This wouldn't be so much of a problem, i can manually add the provider in the group if i have too, but then if i try to retrieve this type by its name: Type t = Type.GetType("System.Security.Cryptography.AesCryptoServiceProvider"); i get a null object for AesCryptoServiceProvider, but not for any of the other items in the group. This is really strange, and i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. It's kinda making me need to use tripleDES because of this (since my machines are all running the FIPS compliance requirement). When rendering the page for the first time, this works fine. However, when I post back to the page for some action, I get an error: [3/26/10 12:52:32:781 EST] 0000008c SystemErr R javax.faces.FacesException: Error getting property 'options' from bean of type TypeB at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.ApplyRequestValuesPhase.execute(ApplyRequestValuesPhase.java:89) at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.phase(LifecycleImpl.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.execute(LifecycleImpl.java:91) at com.ibm.faces.portlet.FacesPortlet.processAction(FacesPortlet.java:193) My grasp on the JSF lifecyle is very rough. At this point, i understand there is an error in the ApplyRequestValues Phases which is very early and so the previous state is restored and nothing changes. What I don't understand is that in order to fufill the condition for rendering "item.typeA" that object has to be an instance of TypeA. But here, it looks like that object passed the condition even though it was an instance of TypeB. It is like it is evaluating the inner dataTable (InnerItems) before evaluating the outer (outerItems). My working assumption is that I just don't understand how/when the rendered attribute is actually evaluated.

• Joomla Development - Allow Direct File Access AND use Joomla-intern Framework

  Hi As usual you write in Joomla Development defined('_JEXEC') or die('Restricted access'); I make a plugin which needs access from Paypal/IPN, so i exclude that in that specific file. BUT I also need to use the Joomla-intern Variables to access the Database, so i tried this: require("../filewithaccesstoframework.php"); OR even $baseurl = $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']; $baseurl ="http://".$baseurl."/configuration.php"; require($baseurl); By using the first code it displays "Restircted Access" since it seems to take this from the included file which i can't skip to put-in-there. The second code does not seem to recognize the Variables used in configuration.php like $host, $db, $password. the file configuration.php is chmod 444 Why this happens and is there a workarround to allow direct access to a file AND using the Joomla intern Framework (Variables, Functions)?

  In one of windows application in C# , I am using Dev Express Grid view control to bind some data and display it to user. I have custom business objects with properties defined for this purpose.Then I simple set the DataSource of the grid to the list of my custom business objects. A while ago , there came a requirement which means that the columns to be displayed on to the grid will be dynamic. This means I cannot know at design time which fields I will need to display. I was thinking of abandoning setting the DataSource and populating the grid manually by code. But I think this will cause many of the grid's features not to work properly, for example , grouping the data by drag n drop of fields to the header area etc. Is there any way to tell a grid at runtime to skip certain fields from a list of BO's when databinding to the grid ?

• How can I pipe a large amount of data as a runtime argument?

  Running an executable JAR on a linux platform here. The program it self works on a somewhat large amount of data, basically a list of URLs... could be up to 2k. Currently I get this from a simple DB call. But I was thinking that instead of creating a new mode and writing SQL to get a new result set and having to redploy everytime, I could just make the program more robust by passing in the result set (the list of URLs) that need to be worked on... so, within a linux environment, is there a pain-free/simple way to get the result set and pass it in dynamically? I know file i/o is one, but it doesn't seem to be effecient because each file has to be named, as well more logic to handle grabbing the correct file, creating a file with a unique name, etc.

WHILE EXISTS –– mark leaf nodes (SELECT * FROM OrgChart WHERE boss_emp_nbr = -99999 AND emp_nbr > -99999) LOOP –– get list of next level subordinates DELETE FROM WorkingTable; INSERT INTO WorkingTable SELECT emp_nbr FROM OrgChart WHERE boss_emp_nbr = -99999; –– mark next level of subordinates UPDATE OrgChart SET emp_nbr = -99999 WHERE boss_emp_nbr IN (SELECT emp_nbr FROM WorkingTable); END LOOP; my question: is the WHILE EXISTS correct for use w/ postgresql? I appear to be stumbling and getting caught in an infinite loop in this part. Perhaps there is a more correct syntax I am unaware of.

The part I would like to overwrite in Ep: from the start to a line which is exactly Format: Layer, Start, End, Style, Name, MarginL, MarginR, MarginV, Effect, Text. I'm not so sure how may I do it.
