  • How would I go about updating my electronic circuit simulator's 'electricity'?

    I have made an application which allows the user to place down wires, power sources, and inverters on a virtual circuit board. All connections between tiles are automatic, as shown here: As you can see in the last image, the updating of power throughout this grid is not yet functioning. I think I understand how to do this updating conceptually, but getting it to work in my program is appearing to be much more difficult than I first imagined. My source code can be found here. If you have any tips as to how to I might approach this monstrous task, please let me know. EDIT The goal here is to simply get a working application. Getting tiles to pass on power to their neighbors is quite easy, but the tricky part is getting wires to "unpower" after the removal of a power source. The size of the grid is just 18x18, so efficiency really isn't a factor, for those wondering.

    I am trying to make a WCF service over basicHttpBinding to be used over https.     I downloaded the source of the js-test-driver from: http://js-test-driver.googlecode.com/svn/tags/1.2 It compiles just fine, but one of the unit tests fails: [junit] Tests run: 1, Failures: 1, Errors: 0, Time elapsed: 0.012 sec [junit] Test com.google.jstestdriver.eclipse.ui.views.FailureOnlyViewerFilterTest FAILED I am using: - ANT 1.7.1 - javac 1.6.0_12 And I'm trying to install the js-test-driver plugin on Eclipse 3.5.1 Galileo Despite the failed test I installed the plugin into my C:\eclipse\dropins\js-test-driver directory by copying (exporting from svn) the compiled feature and plugins directories there, to see if it would yield any hints to what the problem is. When I started eclipse, added the plugin to the panel using Window-Show View-Other... Other-JsTestDriver The plugin for the panel is added, but it displays the following error instead of the plugin in the panel: Could not create the view: Plugin com.google.jstestdriver.eclipse.ui was unable to load class com.google.jstestdriver.eclipse.ui.views.JsTestDriverView.   • How to intercept raw soap request/response (data) from WCF client

    This question seems to be pretty close to what I am looking for - I was able to setup tracing and I am looking at the log entries for my calls to the service. However I need to see the raw soap request with the data I am sending to the service and I see no way of doing that from the SvcTraceViewer (only log entries are shown but no data sent to the service) - am I just missing configuration? I have tried almost all methods specified on stackoverflow on google but I still cant find out where I am going wrong....I cannot upload a file greater than 64 kb!..     I get the following error message when I try to use svcutil to generate a client proxy for a xamlx file that is hosted by AppFabric beta 2: Two different contracts have the same ConfigurationName I understand the message, however, I cannot find its cause or how to fix it. I'm following the 'Introduction to Workflow Services' lab from the VS2010RC training kit. The web application has two services: SubmitApplication.xamlx and EducationScreening.xamlx. I'm not sure why but both of them have four endpoints. I am currently doing it by binding this XML when generated the WSDL stubs: <jaxws:bindings xmlns:jaxws="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jaxws"> <jws:handler-chains xmlns:jws="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee"> <jws:handler-chain> <jws:handler> <jws:handler-name>ServiceRequestServiceClientHandler</jws:handler-name> <jws:handler-class>blah.ServiceRequestServiceClientHandler</jws:handler-class> </jws:handler> </jws:handler-chain> </jws:handler-chains> </jaxws:bindings> I was looking that the ServiceRequestService_Service object, and it seems like this could be done programmatically (easier in my opinion - less configuration files). new ServiceRequestService_Service().getHandlerResolver().getHandlerChain(PORTINFO).add(HANDLER); But, I do not know what the PortInfo object is, or how to obtain it in relation to the specific service. Has anyone done this?

    I'm using two bindings TCP and HTTP. I want to give mex data on both bindings. What I want is that the mexHttpBinding only exposes the HTTP services while the mexTcpBinding exposes TCP services only. Or is this possible that I access stats service only from HTTP binding and the eventLogging service from TCP? For Example: For TCP I should only have net.tcp://localhost:9001/ABC/mex net.tcp://localhost:9001/ABC/eventLogging For HTTP http://localhost:9002/ABC/stats http://localhost:9002/ABC/mex When I connect with any of the base address (using the WCF Test Client) I'm able to access all the services? Like when I connect with net.tcp://localhost:9001/ABC I'm able to use the services which are offered on the HTTP binding.     If anyone can help me figure out why I am getting the following error when making a call to my WCF service I would be eternally grateful. The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element. I have tried modifying the config file on both the service and client, and made sure the service name includes the namespace. I cannt seem to make any progress.     Hi, when do reliable sessions time out? My session class is defined as follows: [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.PerSession, ConcurrencyMode = ConcurrencyMode.Multiple)] and in my app.config... <bindings> <netTcpBinding> <binding name="FTS_netTcpBinding"> <reliableSession enabled="true" inactivityTimeout="00:00:30"/> </binding> </netTcpBinding> </bindings> I have put a timer in the constructor of my session class that simply outputs a count (1..2..3...) to the console for every second the session is active. I have tested it so far by faulting my channel. I would have imagined that the session class would have died after ~30 seconds (as specified in my inactivityTimeout parameter) and hence the timer would have died. However it was still going after a minute. Each session on my app will have significant resources so I need to make sure that they are cleaned up when something goes wrong. Thanks.

  • no namenode error in pseudo-mode

    I'm new to hadoop and is in learning phase. As per Hadoop Definitve guide, i have set up my hadoop in pseudo distributed mode and everything was working fine. I was even able to execute all the examples from chapter 3 yesterday. Today, when i rebooted my unix and tried to run start-dfs.sh and then tried http://localhost/50070....it is showing error and when i try to stop dfs (stop-dfs.sh) it says no namenode to stop. I have been googling the issue but no result. Also, when i format my namenode again...everything starts working fine and i'm able to connect to the localhost/50070 and even replicate files and directories in hdfs but as soon as i restart my linux and try to connect to hdfs the same problem comes up.     We are working on a 3-tier application, and we've been allowed to use the latest and greatest (MVC2, IIS7.5, WCF, SQL2k8, etc). The application tier is exposed to the various web applications by WCF services. Since we control both the service and client side, we've decided to use net.tcp bindings for their performance advantage over HTTP. We would like to use ELMAH for the error logging, both on the web apps and services. Here's my question. There's lots of information about using ELMAH with WCF, but it is all for HTTP bindings. Does anyone know if/how you can use ELMAH with WCF services exposing non-HTTP endpoints? My guess is no, because ELMAH wants the HttpContext, which requires the AspNetCompatibilityEnabled flag to be true in the web.config. From MSDN: IIS 7.0 and WAS allows WCF services to communicate over protocols other than HTTP. However, WCF services running in applications that have enabled ASP.NET compatibility mode are not permitted to expose non-HTTP endpoints. Such a configuration generates an activation exception when the service receives its first message. If it is true that you cannot use ELMAH with WCF services having non-HTTP endpoints, then the follow-up question is: Can we use ELMAH in such a way that doesn't need HttpContext? Or more generally (so as not to commit the thin metal ruler error), is there ANY way to use ELMAH with WCF services having non-HTTP endpoints?

  • Consume a WCF Web Service in Sharepoint Services 3.0

    I've seen this question and since it doesn't answer my question and the topic is fairly miss-leading in my opinion, I feel the urge to ask this again. I have a Sharepoint Webpart that I deploy using Visual Studio Sharepoint Tools 1.2 to a Sharepoint Services 3.0 instance on my local Windows 2003 server. All works great, however, as soon as I add a WCF Service it won't run the code. All I get is a File not found error.     I'm using suds for the first time and trying to communicate with a server hosted by an external company.     I am attempting to insert a custom behavior into my service client, following the example here. I appear to be following all of the steps, but I am getting a ConfigurationErrorsException. Is there anyone more experienced than me who can spot what I'm doing wrong?   • Architecture for a business objects / database access layer

    For various reasons, we are writing a new business objects/data storage library. One of the requirements of this layer is to separate the logic of the business rules, and the actual data storage layer. It is possible to have multiple data storage layers that implement access to the same object - for example, a main "database" data storage source that implements most objects, and another "ldap" source that implements a User object. In this scenario, User can optionally come from an LDAP source, perhaps with slightly different functionality (eg, not possible to save/update the User object), but otherwise it is used by the application the same way. Another data storage type might be a web service, or an external database. There are two main ways we are looking at implementing this, and me and a co-worker disagree on a fundamental level which is correct. I'd like some advice on which one is the best to use. I'll try to keep my descriptions of each as neutral as possible, as I'm looking for some objective view points here. Business objects are base classes, and data storage objects inherit business objects. Client code deals with data storage objects. In this case, common business rules are inherited by each data storage object, and it is the data storage objects that are directly used by the client code. This has the implication that client code determines which data storage method to use for a given object, because it has to explicitly declare an instance to that type of object. Client code needs to explicitly know connection information for each data storage type it is using. If a data storage layer implements different functionality for a given object, client code explicitly knows about it at compile time because the object looks different. If the data storage method is changed, client code has to be updated. Business objects encapsulate data storage objects. In this case, business objects are directly used by client application. Client application passes along base connection information to business layer. Decision about which data storage method a given object uses is made by business object code. Connection information would be a chunk of data taken from a config file (client app does not really know/care about details of it), which may be a single connection string for a database, or several pieces connection strings for various data storage types. Additional data storage connection types could also be read from another spot - eg, a configuration table in a database that specifies URLs to various web services. The benefit here is that if a new data storage method is added to an existing object, a configuration setting can be set at runtime to determine which method to use, and it is completely transparent to the client applications. Client apps do not need to be modified if data storage method for a given object changes. Business objects are base classes, data source objects inherit from business objects. Client code deals primarily with base classes. This is similar to the first method, but client code declares variables of the base business object types, and Load()/Create()/etc static methods on the business objects return the appropriate data source-typed objects. The architecture of this solution is similar to the first method, but the main difference is the decision about which data storage object to use for a given business object is made by the business layer, not the client code. I know there are already existing ORM libraries that provide some of this functionality, but please discount those for now (there is the possibility that a data storage layer is implemented with one of these ORM libraries) - also note I'm deliberately not telling you what language is being used here, other than that it is strongly typed. I'm looking for some general advice here on which method is better to use (or feel free to suggest something else), and why.
