• OpenGL Motion blur with the accumulation buffer in WxWidgets

  Hello, I'm trying to achieve a motion blur effect in my OpenGL application. I read somewhere this solution, using the accumulation buffer: glAccum(GL_MULT, 0.90); glAccum(GL_ACCUM, 0.10); glAccum(GL_RETURN, 1.0); glFlush(); at the end of the render loop. But nothing happens... What am I missing ? Additions after genpfault answer: Indeed I did not asked for an accumulation buffer when I initialized my context. So I tried to pass an array of attributes to the constructor of my wxGLCanvas, as described here: http://docs.wxwidgets.org/2.6/wx_wxglcanvas.html : int attribList[]={ WX_GL_RGBA , WX_GL_DOUBLEBUFFER , WX_GL_MIN_ACCUM_RED, WX_GL_MIN_ACCUM_GREEN, WX_GL_MIN_ACCUM_BLUE, 0} But all I get is a friendly Seg fault. • Why / When / How is this Android serviceBinder resetting to null?

  I've written a ListActivity for Android 2.1 which is used to display a list of event categories. As the user selects a category, the program calls a web service to retrieve a list of sub-events. For example, a top level event might be "soccer" and when the user selects this the web service would return various soccer associations (e.g. "english", "french", "german", etc.) and display them in a new list. The following code seems to work occasionally, however sometimes the call to the service (in EventsListTask) fails because the serviceBinder is null. Is there anything I need to watch out for when doing this? Am I calling the target intent incorrectly? Why is that? I even tried to create a specific method ListByType(int id) and the correspondent view, but that does not work too (URL: http://server/Autor/ListByType/1) Any ideas? Thanks in advanced EDIT Oh, the http://server/Autor works just fine. The method without parameters is spitting out my view correctly.

One of the things the app is lacking is X axis labels (i.e. the frequency labels). My question is how can I determine what frequency each iteration (or y value) represents inside the for loop. For example, if I want to know what the magnitude is for 6kHz, I'm thinking of adding a line similar to the following: if (yValueRepresentskHz(y, 6)) NSLog(@"The magnitude for 6kHz is %f", (interpVal * 120)); Please note that although they chose to use the variable name y, from what I understand, it actually represents the x-axis in the visual graph of the spectrum analyzer, and the value of the drawBuffers[0][y] represents the y-axis.

  I'm writing a memory allocator, and I need a way to store an integer inside of a chunk of memory. This integer will represent the size of the block so I can navigate to the end given the pointer to the beginning.   I'm having a problem where items served by my Squid server are being cached by Limelight for too long, sometimes days. It happens when a piece of content has been static for a long time (weeks) and then undergoes numerous changes in a matter of hours. Limelight gets its content from our Squid server and I'm told that if I can add 'Expires: 15m' in the HTTP header the Squid server sends, Limelight will not cache the image for more than 15 min. Unfortunately, I can fond no setting in Squid that will allow me to add this to the header.   I need to truncate strings in a side menu to make the fit into a div without a linebreak. The divs have a fixed width. I'm looking for a library to do that for me. If a string is too long to fit into the div, it should be truncated like: <div>This string is too long</div> == <div>This string is...ong</div> As you can see, the string is not only truncated by an ellipsis but the last three letters are also visible. This is meant to increase readability. The truncation should not care about spaces. Does anyone know of a library that includes such functionality? We're mainly using jQuery throughout the project.   DROP VIEW V1 IF EXISTS; DROP TABLE T1 IF EXISTS; CREATE TABLE T1 (id INT, name VARCHAR(32), age int); CREATE VIEW V1 AS (SELECT * FROM T1 WHERE age < 21); I have no problem to execute the SQL statement above in one JDBC statement or on the SWING Manager from HSQLDB. Now it stops working on 1.9.0-rc6. This is error message I got - "user lacks privilege or object not found: T1 / Error Code: -5501 / State: 42501" Does anyone know what have changed in 1.9.0-XX which made it not working? Thanks

• Scipy Negative Distance? What?

  I have a input file which are all floating point numbers to 4 decimal place. i.e. 13359 0.0000 0.0000 0.0001 0.0001 0.0002` 0.0003 0.0007 ... (the first is the id). My class uses the loadVectorsFromFile method which multiplies it by 10000 and then int() these numbers. On top of that, I also loop through each vector to ensure that there are no negative values inside. However, when I perform _hclustering, I am continually seeing the error, "Linkage Z contains negative values". I seriously think this is a bug because: I checked my values, the values are no where small enough or big enough to approach the limits of the floating point numbers and the formula that I used to derive the values in the file uses absolute value (my input is DEFINITELY right). Can someone enligten me as to why I am seeing this weird error?   I am trying to compare two tables to find rows in each table that is not in the other. Table 1 has a groupby column to create 2 sets of data within table one. groupby number ----------- ----------- 1 1 1 2 2 1 2 2 2 4 Table 2 has only one column. number ----------- 1 3 4 So Table 1 has the values 1,2,4 in group 2 and Table 2 has the values 1,3,4.   I'm still in the process of learning hibernate/hql and I have a question that's half best practices question/half sanity check. Let's say I have a class A: @Entity public class A { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.AUTO) private Long id; @Column(unique=true) private String name = ""; //getters, setters, etc. omitted for brevity } I want to enforce that every instance of A that gets saved has a unique name (hence the @Column annotation), but I also want to be able to handle the case where there's already an A instance saved that has that name. I see two ways of doing this: 1) I can catch the org.hibernate.exception.ConstraintViolationException that could be thrown during the session.saveOrUpdate() call and try to handle it. 2) I can query for existing instances of A that already have that name in the DAO before calling session.saveOrUpdate(). Right now I'm leaning towards approach 2, because in approach 1 I don't know how to programmatically figure out which constraint was violated (there are a couple of other unique members in A).
