  For HTML input, I want to neutralize all HTML elements that have inline js (onclick="..", onmouseout=".." etc). I am thinking, isn't it enough to encode the following chars? =,(,) So onclick="location.href='ggg.com'" will become onclick%3D"location.href%3D'ggg.com'" What am I missing here? Edit: I do need to accept active HTML (I can't escape it all or entities is it).

• How best to store Subversion version information in EAR's?

  When receiving a bug report or an it-doesnt-work message one of my initials questions is always what version? With a different builds being at many stages of testing, planning and deploying this is often a non-trivial question. I the case of releasing Java JAR (ear, jar, rar, war) files I would like to be able to look in/at the JAR and switch to the same branch, version or tag that was the source of the released JAR. How can I best adjust the ant build process so that the version information in the svn checkout remains in the created build? I was thinking along the lines of: adding a VERSION file, but with what content? storing information in the META-INF file, but under what property with which content? copying sources into the result archive added svn:properties to all sources with keywords in places the compiler leaves them be I ended up using the svnversion approach (the accepted anwser), because it scans the entire subtree as opposed to svn info which just looks at the current file / directory. • FormsAuthentication redirecting to login page when visiting root of website

  I wanted to use FormsAuthentication to secure my static files as well on my site, so I followed the instructions located here http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/244/how-to-take-advantage-of-the-iis7-integrated-pipeline/ under title "Enabling Forms Authentication for the Entire Application". Now though, when I try to visit the site by going directly to http://www.mysite.com I get redirected to http://www.mysite.com/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f instead of it using my DefaultDocument I have set. I can go to my default document by just visiting http://www.mysite.com/Home.aspx without any issues because it is set to allow anonymous access. Is there something I need to add into my web.config file to make iis7 allow anonymous access to the root? I tried adding with anonymous access but no such luck. Any help would be much appreciated.   I find the repetition of sets of controls for each of the EditItemTemplate, InsertItemTemplate, and ItemTemplate templates of a FormView to be tedious and risky, in terms duplicating layout and code etc. I would much rather create a xxxDetails user control, and use this in each template, cutting layout and code location down to one location.   I have some strings that need a-strippin': ÃœT: 9.996636,76.294363 Tons of long strings of location codes. A literal regex in PHP won't match them, IE $pattern = /ÃœT:/; echo preg_replace($pattern, "", $row['location']); Won't match/strip anything. (To know it's working, /T:/ does strip the last bit of that string). What's the encoding error doing on here? Alternately, I would accept a concise way to take out just the numbers.
