  I'd like to write some code that runs a sequence of F# scripts (.fsx).   Hello there. I have a question on the java applet.I've created a java applet,which is a board game,that can have a 2*2 array with row number and column number both set to 9 by default. Now I want to extend my applet a bit,that the user can specify the size they want on the command-line,then the applet class will create an applet with correspoding size. I try to add a constructor in the applet class,but the Eclipse complains,I also tried another class,which will create an instance of this applet with size as an instance variable,but it is not working. Could anyone help me a little bit on where to put a main() method that can take care of user-specified board sized,then create an array in my applet class accordingly? Thanks a lot. Rob

  Hello, I have a Java application and I want to implement an Undo/Redo option. the value that I want to stock and that I want to be able to recover is an integer. My Class Model implements the interface StateEditable and I have to redefine the 2 functions restoreState(Hashtable<?, ?> state) and storeState(Hashtable<Object, Object> state) but I don't know what to put on them. It will be really great if somebody can help me to do that. • Project Idea with Hadoop MapReduce

  Hello, I learnt Hadoop a few months back and managed to do a very introductory programming project on it. I want to do a small - medium sized project or series of small programming assignments with Hadoop. I have seen lot of ideas around but I dont see anything that can be finished in about 60-70 hours of work so a pretty small scale project as I want to do that in my spare time along with other studies. Most project ideas I have seen sort of large to go on for 2-3 months. My main objective out of this exercise to develop good expertise in programming with Hadoop environment not to do any research or solve specific problems.   Hello all, I have an array for instance, Array { 3.0 at Index 0 2.0 at Index 1 3.5 at Index 2 1.0 at Index 4 } I would like to get sort it in ascending order without losing the index in the first place, like this, Array { 1.0 at Index 4 2.0 at Index 1 3.0 at Index 0 3.5 at Index 2 } When I sort the array using this, NSArray *sortedArray = [hArray sortedArrayUsingSelector:@selector(caseInsensitiveCompare:)]; [knnRecog sortUsingDescriptors:[NSArray arrayWithObject:sortAsc]]; I lose the index. Does anyone know a way to preserve the index after sorting the array? Thanks

• ForceContext Queries method twice?

So I can clearly see when its accessed more than once in a minute. If I comment out the second contextSwitch line, it only goes up 1, if Its not, it displays the xml page but adds 2 minutes (being called twice somehow). Any ideas?

  Hello, The question I'm asking is kind of subjective. I've seen twice, while exercising with real projects such as StoreFront, both Repository and Services. Sometimes they can just be folders or projects attached to the solution. But they contain classes and interfaces. So, I'd like to know what goes to the repository and what goes to the services. So far, I was familiar with repositories (we put methods and properties in the repository to reduce the complexity in the controller). How about the services? So, ASP.NET MVC: What's the difference in concept between Service and Repository? (Maybe none) My question is Kind of subjective, but I'd like to make sure that I'm not missing anything.   Hello, My team is small, only two programmers.We both share one source ,but we live in different places.The problem is that Meanwhile I make changes on our project,the other team worker makes changes as well.It's very hard to write down every change,at least for us. When we decide we've made an important change,we contact each other sending the whole project's source. This is not good,because: The files sent from one do not contain the changes that the other worker has been working on meanwhile. We host the source on free servers,thus makes it possible for other to see the files.It will be VERY much better if only few(those that are changed) files are being uploaded rather than the whole project. My question: Are there any tools that could make our lives easier? Thanks in advance! EDIT: We use Delphi 2009.

  Hello, I'm trying to save blob data from a SQLite database (Safari cache: Cache.db) to a file, but for some reason sqlite won't read the whole blob. I eventually would like to do this in ruby, but for now something that works directly in sqlite command prompt is fine. Also, I've read all of the entries that talk about this here on stackoverflow, but most of them only discuss the performance of saving images in blobs and the one entry that does show to save blobs to file is in C# which does not help me.   Hi, I'm trying to build a java application with gcj but getting the error below. multiple definition of `java resource .dummy' gcj versions are 4.4.1 on Ubuntu and 4.3.4 on cygwin/windows XP and I'm building it with gcj --main=my.MainClass --classpath=my my/*java Anyone seen this or know a workaround without installing an earlier version of gcj. If that is the way to do it does anyone know how to do that on cygwin or will I have to build it? • How can I modify objects inside frames with AS3 in a permanent way?

  I have a MovieClip symbol created with flash in a fla file library. There is a textfield in frame one of this movieclip's timeline . There is another frame in the movieclip timeline. There is a custon class definition for this symbol. It is a flipping card in a memory game. I access the textfield by going to frame 2 (gotoAndStop(2)) and setting the textfield's text property ( this.field.text = "hello" ). However if I go to frame 1 and then return to frame 2, the text becomes the original one in the library's symbol. I have to modify the text propery again in a showFace method I've written. Besides, I cannot pass parameters in the constructor because it is a symbol in the library and that would give errors. I find this behaviour of flash extremely weird. Is there a way I can set properties inside frames permanently? Thank you

I've looked at many - the WPF one, XCeed, Ingragistics, DevExpress, etc.... but none of them seem to offer the simple requirement I have: I want to be able to display group subtotals in their columns in the group row, e.g. GROUP 1 xxxx.xx GROUP 2 xxxx.xx ROW 1 xx.xx ROW 2 xx.xx Does anyone know of a grid that does this, or a nice supporting collection that implements aggregate functions (group totals would need to be used in individual line items) so that existing grids with a bit of XAML styling would work?   Hello all, I was wondering what is the better method for Casting objects for C#: MyClassName test = (MyClassName)object; MyClassName test = object as MyClassName; I know already that if you do the first way, you get an exception, and the second way it sets test as null. However, I was wondering why do one over the other? I see the first way a lot, but I like how the second way because then I can check for null... If there isn't a 'better way' of doing it, what are the guidelines for using one way or the other?

It seems that the application doesn't get any message when clicked on disabled control. However, it does not work as I want, as the button stretches all the way down to the right, as shown by the image below. Any idea how to fix it? If I remove the autosizing property then the margin is correct.

  Hello, gcc 4.4.2 / Visual Studio C++ 2008 I have been using cmake on linux, without any problems. Now I have ported by application to run on windows. I generated the solution files using cmake -G "Visual Studio 9 2008 ../src" However, I know that cmake only creates a Makefile that is used by the compiler to build your application. I open my solution in Visual Studio, I press the F7 key to compile. I am wondering does it actually use the Makefile that was generated by cmake? Or it is just compiling the application like any normal visual studio program? Many thanks for any advice,

  Hello, This has been bothering me for awhile, can some one show me how to ping a counter strike server. I just want to ping the server and see if it is online, thats all. I found many small snippets online that were using fsock and UDP to do this but none of them actually did the job i wanted it to do. Most of the ones i found were showing offline servers as online. • PHP Image Link in FUnction 404's

  Hello, I have a valid link that goes to a picture located on my web server. It is a simple jpg image, I can copy and paste this link into my web browser and it loads fine. The issue comes in when I try to call a few php functions on the image... such as getimagesize or fopen... they both return 404 errors even though the image is there. Does anyone know that could be causing this? Thank you for your time.

  Hello, I'd like to develop a desktop application (on Windows, and preferably on .NET) that accepts bluetooth connections from mobile devices, that would then send commands to this application. I've never worked with bluetooth before. I've looked for open-source examples of such applications, but I had no luck. I've actually found on Microsoft a managed (.NET) wrapper for the bluetooth stack on Windows CE, but wasn't able to use it on my Windows 7. Do you know of any good texts discussing this topic? Any other source of information on the subject? Where should I start? Thanks.
