• evaluating buffer in emacs python-mode on remote host

  Hello, I'm using emacs23 with tramp to modify python scripts on a remote host. I found that when I start the python shell within emacs it starts up python on the remote host. My problem is that when I then try to call python-send-buffer via C-c C-c it comes up with the error Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in ? ImportError: No module named emacs Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in ? NameError: name 'emacs' is not defined Now, I must admit that I don't really know what's going on here. Is there a way for me to configure emacs so that I can evaluate the buffer on the remote host? Many thanks.

  Hello, I am trying to match information stored in a variable. I have a list of uuid's and ip addresses beside them.   Ok right , i asked how to create a random number from 1-100 for android and i came to this TextView tv = new TextView(this); int random = (int)Math.ceil(Math.random()*101); tv.setText("Your Number Is..."+ random ); What this does is create the default kinda "hello world" style text view and says "Your Number Is.... [Then Random Number] My problem is that i cant change the layout of this text , because it is not defined in XML, if someone could tell me how to change the style , or like make the random number into a string so i could use it for any Textview layout that would be great .. • Detect if touch device

  Hello, I'm writing a MIDlet using the Kuix UI toolkit, and I want to make changes to the toolkit depending on whether the current device is a touch screen device. (These changes include making buttons bigger, for easier tapping.) Is there a way to detect whether the device has a touch screen using J2ME (MIDP 2)? [edit] as a (crappy) workaround I check for the screen height instead. A screen width a height of higher than 240 is likely a touch screen... Please let me know if there are any more effective ways.

• SVN Path Based Authorization: Granting listing access but not read access

  Hello, We're using path-based-authorization module for Apache SVN. It all works fine, except that when users try to check out code they have access to, their SVN clients get confused if they don't have at least read access to the parent directories - all the way up to root. It works, but some clients just get confused sometimes. Because SVN path-based-authorization is recursively applied, we don't want to give all users read access to root, because that would give them access to all source code in the repository. It would, however, be acceptable if users could get directory listings (just not actual lines of code) for the entire repository. This would prevent the svn clients from getting confused. Does any one know how to grant permissions to get directory listings without granting permissions to the actual contents of the files? Thanks!

• IE6 Not submitting POST Data?!

  Hello all, I have just tested my site on an old IE6 browser on a windows server. The problem I have is when I submit a form, the POST data I get on the other page is empty. Array(). This site has worked on IE6 on a different windows server, it has worked on my laptop and works on all other major browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE6,7,8, Safari) etc. Its just this one machine. Is there a setting not to allow post data on IE6? Thanks all

  Hello. I am going to handle XML files for a project. I had earlier decided to use lxml but after reading the requirements, I think ElemenTree would be better for my purpose. The XML files that have to be processed are: Small in size. Typically < 10 KB. No namespaces. Simple XML structure. Given the small XML size, memory is not an issue. My only concern is fast parsing. What should I go with? Mostly I have seen people recommend lxml, but given my parsing requirements, do I really stand to benefit from it or would ElementTree serve my purpose better?

  Hello, I have a very simple constructor in ActionScript as the following: public function ButtonTest() { this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, browseFiles); } My problem is that when I open the SWF file itself, the window is not full size and the whole area responds to the mouse click. If I expand the window to full size, a margin of like 200 pixels on the left is not clickable. I hope I make some sense. The issue is that I had the .SWF file in a in my HTML code, and when I make it small, it seems that only the center of the SWF file is clickable. I hope someone can please help me. Thank you, Rudy

  Hello! I'm developing an administration panel (in php), for a website (in a shared host), to let the administrator to manage the personal infos of the employees! With this panel should be possible to create or delete an e-mail account for an employee and if the employee logs in the admin panel, he/she should be able to access to his/her e-mail account! I had thought to install Horde WebMail on the website to let the employees use their e-mail accounts ... but how can I pass the login credentials to Horde? And what you suggest to create and delete the e-mails account that can be read by Horde? Any other suggestion is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!! EDIT: Or are there better alternatives to Horde to accomplish, at least, the e-mail account access from within the web site?

  Hello, I am trying to learn python and am making a program that will output a script. I want to use os.path.join but am pretty confused (I know I am very bad at scripting/programming) See, according to the docs ( http://docs.python.org/library/os.path.html ) if I say os.path.join('c:', 'sourcedir') I get C:sourcedir as it's output. According to the docs, this is normal (right?) But when I use the copytree command, Python will output it the desired way, for example import shutil src = os.path.join('c:', 'src') dst = os.path.join('c':', 'dst') shutil.copytree(src, dst) Here is the error code I get WindowsError: [Error 3] The system cannot find the path specified: 'C:src/.' If I wrap the os.path.join with os.path.normpath I get the same error If this os.path.join can't be used this way, then I am confused as to its purpose According to the pages suggested by Stack Overflow, slashes should not be used in join--that is correct I assume?   Hello, I'm creating an application that consists of a ListView with 5 rows: - 1st one containing a graph - 2nd to 5th rows containing some data with the same formatting. I have created 2 classes: GraphCustomViewCell and DataCustomViewCell. Depending upon the position of the cell I load the correct CustomCell with: NSArray *topLevelObjects = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"GraphCustomViewCell" owner:nil options:nil]; for(id currentObject in topLevelObjects) { if([currentObject isKindOfClass:[GraphCustomViewCell class]]) { cell = (GraphCustomViewCell *)currentObject; break; } } That works fine except that the first row, the one corresponding to the graph, is bigger (in height) that the 4 other rows, and as a results it hides the 3 first other rows. Is there any option in the table view that enables the custom cell to expand the default cells ? I'd like that the 5 rows (graph + 4 data rows) to fit the entire screen (480 - tabbar's height).   Hello, I have to create an app that will read in some info from a db, process the data, write changes back to the db, and then send an email with these changes to some users or groups. I will be writing this in c#, and this process must be run once a week at a particular time. This will be running on a Windows 2008 Server. In the past, I would always go the route of creating a windows service with a timer and setting the time/day for it to be run in the app.config file so that it can be changed and only have to be restarted to catch the update. Recently, though, I have seen blog posts and such that recommend writing a console application and then using a scheduled task to execute it. I have read many posts talking to this very issue, but have not seen a definitive answer about which process is better. What do any of you think? Thanks for any thoughts.

  Hello, Can anyone tell me how can I get a cell IndexPath? I was saving the IndexPath in the tableView: cellForRowAtIndexPath: method but this only loads when the cell is viewed and I need to know its index path on the viewDidLoad method. this resulted in a null value because as I said it only loads its value after the cell was viewed once. As far as I found out it is a number which get increased with each event. But I cannot find a way to find the current number from where on I need to increase. The number I use there currently is just try and error and also does not seam to work always.
