• What is the difference between a "service account" and an "installed application"?

  To my understanding, the main difference is that a service account doesn't require a user to log in for authorization, while an installed application does. I am making an Android app (an "installed application"?) that offers an in-app subscription, and doesn't require the user to log in to an account (a "service account"?). To get a Client ID for the Google Play Developer API, I have to declare it as either an installed application or a service account, and am unsure which to go with.

• Windows Process : Tool to see Function and change arguments

  Sometime back I used a windows tool to see what a process is doing. This tool allowed me to inspect functions exported from DLL. It also allowed me to change the values passed to a function on the fly. I cannot recollect the name(not sure if that was free or commercial one). Could any one point to me solution that can do this?   HI I am not able to add .mdf file in App_data(vs 2008 web developer). If i right click on App_data and try to add new item and select sql server file and click OK. I am getting error as "Connections to Sql Server files(*.mdf) require SQL Server Express 2005 to function properly.Please verify the installation of the component or download from the url:http://www.microsoft.com/Sqlserver/2005/" But i have installed SQL Server Express 2005 still it is giving the same error(i have installed sql server after installing vs 2008) Please help me

• Links break in IE9 when using Wordpress plugins in non Wordpress Page

  I have a site that uses SEF URLs and htaccess RewriteRules to serve up the pages. This has worked fine for several years until the arrival of IE9. Now it appears that the links are not being rewritten and the site is dead in the water. I have tried different compatabilty modes, to no avail, and I've played with the Rewrite Rules over and over, tried different doctypes and a few other browser settings. I agree that it cannot in theory be a browser specific problem if the problem is with the htaccess file but this site works in IE8, firefox and chrome. I have run the rewriterule through a validator and it looks fine. Any ideas would be appreciated as I am running out of ideas. The site is www.marlboroughsounds.co.nz a sample link is http://www.marlboroughsounds.co.nz/walking/freedom-walk-queen-charlotte-track/4dfw and the rewrite rule thats not working looks like this: RewriteRule ^walking/.*/([a-z0-9_]*)/?$ /walking.php?act_code=$1 [L] The link fails and it serves up a browser 404 page, not even the custom 404 I have for the site. Any ideas would be much appreciated as I am stumped.

• Dynamically creating objects at runtime that inherit from a base class

  I am writing a game editor, and have a lot of different "tool" objects. They all inherit from BTool and have the same constructor. I would like to dynamically populate a toolbox at runtime with buttons that correspond to these tools, and when clicked have them create an instance of that tool and set it as the current tool. Is this possible, and if so will it be better/easier than creating those buttons by hand?

• XCode: "To download this update...". Is this dialog normal?

  I'm getting a dialog box asking to enter my apple developer id & password in xcode. It just says something like "To download this update enter your information." then i goes away. Is this normal? Seems to me that this would be the perfect way for a trojan to get my apple id and pwd!
