• Looping trough feed entries with rome

  I'm trying to loop trough Atom feed entries, and get the title attribute lets say, I found this article, I tried this snipped of code : for (final Iterator iter = feeds.getEntries.iterator(); iter.hasNext(); ) { element = (Element)iter.next(); key = element.getAttributeValue("href"); if ((key != null) && (key.length() > 0)) { marks.put(key, key); } } But I get exception saying : java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sun.syndication.feed.synd.SyndEntryImpl cannot be cast to org.jdom.Element at com.emir.altantbh.FeedReader.main(FeedReader.java:47) What did I do wrong? can anyone direct me towards better tutorial or show me where did I make mistake, I need to loop trough entries and extract title tag value. thank you

• How to filter Backbone.js Collection and Rerender App View?

  Is is a total Backbone.js noob question. I am working off of the ToDo Backbone.js example trying to build out a fairly simple single app interface. While the todo project is more about user input, this app is more about filtering the data based on the user options (click events). I am completely new to Backbone.js and Mongoose and have been unable to find a good example of what I am trying to do. I have been able to get my api to pull the data from the MongoDB collection and drop it into the Backbone.js collection which renders it in the app. What I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do is filter that data and re-render the app view. I am trying to filter by the "type" field in the document. • ASP.NET: How to initialize when *user control* is initially loaded

  I have an ASP.NET user control that I'm embedding in another user control. This works fine. I need to know the best logic/method for detecting when the control is loaded. In other words, I have some display initialization logic that needs to run when the control is initially displayed. Surely there is a pattern for this. The typical method is to put (!IsPostBack) logic in the Page_Load method of the control. This works great until you end up with a state when the Parent page has already posted back many times. My user control gets added to the page but its display does not intialize properly. I'm hoping to find a way that keeps this logic inside the control, versus various hacking around in the codebehind of the parent page.

  How can I read the delay, left and top offset data for each frame of a gif? I've gotten this far. First the Metadata property of both the gif and the frame are always null, even if I try different animated gif files. I have a page where the user types in the password, the password lets say 1234 is saved in the database ( I have created a table already ) . I have got the database into the project folder . • Partition of tables in MySQL

  Hello, I have read that in a case where a table has many columns, but most of the time only one of them is used (say a title column in a forum post), a way to increase performance would be a partition to two tables, where one will contain only the title and the other one will contain the other columns (such as the forum post body). However, in case I use select ForumTitle from Forum; won't that be good enough to prevent the load of all columns (such as the forum post's body) to the memory, and eliminate the need of partition?   Hello all, The title might be a bit misleading, but I couldn't figure out a better title. I'm writing a simple search engine which will search on several sites for the specific domain. To be concrete: I'm writing a search engine for hardstyle livesets/aftermovies/tracks. To do I will search on the sites who provide livesets, tracks, and such. The problem here is speed, I need to pass the search query to 5-7 sites, get the results and then use my own algorithm to display the results in a sorted order. I could just "multithread" it, but it's easier said then done so I have a few questions. What would be the best solution to this problem? Should I just multithread/process this application, so I'm going to get a bit of speed-up? Are there any other solutions or I am doing something really wrong? Thanks, William van Doorn

  Hi I have worked on the following nav drop down seen here http://charmcitykids.missionmedia.net/. It works and is almost complete, but I have one issue. When you mouseover a nav title the text goes from color to black and then shows the dropdown. That is how it should work, but when you move your mouse to go a nav title within the dropdown the black text(active image) goes back to color and doesnt remain black. Any suggestion when dropdown is active and user is navigating through such to keep the text(active image) black? thnx jonah

• Embedding Youtube Videos on user's wall with the Javascript API

  I'm attempting to embed a Youtube video on a user's wall using the Javascript API. I've poured over a bunch of different tutorials and came up with this: var data = { method: 'feed', link: current_video_url, // Link to the vide on our site source: current_video_src, // Link to the Youtube video, http://youtube.com/v/[hash] picture: current_picture_url, // Thumbnail from youtube title: current_video_title, // Title from our page caption: current_video_description // Text from our page } FB.ui(data); Running the Facebook Debugger shows that the current_video_url link is being properly parsed for OG tags and is available as an embedded video. I ran a debugger and all the variables are being properly set in the data variable. This worked fine for about 2 days, and then we pushed the site live. We set up a new AppID in Facebook but now all the videos are just thumbnails instead of being embedded in the user's wall. I thought maybe this is a problem with the live site but now the dev site is broken too. What's the best way to get this to work consistently?

• iui transition moving in wrong direction

  i am using iUI to build a native looking web app for iDevices. whenever i click a link with an href of #something that leads to another div on my page, the transition effect moves (correctly) as if the page were sliding in from the right like it does on any other iDevice app. a portion of my app requires an indefinite number of sub pages though, so i generate them on the fly, assign them and id, and set the window location to something like myip/mobile/#_newdiv. this causes the transition effect to move in the wrong direction though (as if the page were sliding in from the LEFT, opposite native iDevices). is there any way to fix this?

• How can I hide the taxonomy field for authenticated users but show it for other users in Drupal 6?

  I have a Drupal (v6.17) Content Type which includes a Taxonomy field. I want to hide this from ordinary Authenticated Users, but want it available to my Site Contributor role users, so they can review and then assign tags to user-created nodes. I've tried overriding the Node Add/Edit form in Panels 3 by creating a panel variant especially for Authenticated Users, which would exclude the Taxonomy field. However, the Taxonomy field is bundled in with the "General Form" controls - without showing this, I don't get the Title and Body fields. Is there a way I can either include the Title and Body fields without Taxonomy, OR hide just the Taxonomy field when the authenticated user role creates a node. I realise there's a CCK field which might be able to help me out here, but how do I tie that to the Taxonomy module? Any help gratefully received.

I'm wanting to add controls as plugins as the application matures. Currently i've got a structure like the following: interface IControl string Id object Value class Label : IControl string Id string Value class Repeater : IControl string Id List<IControl> Value Now you'll see the strange part right away in the Repeater class with the Value property. I was hoping that having the Value type as object in the interface would allow me the flexibility to expand the controls as i go along. The compiler doesn't like this and for good reason i guess. Does anyone have any suggestions how to accomplish this? Note: Please don't go into suggesting things like use Spark View Engine for templating. There is a reason i'm creating extra work for myself.

• Some sites won't load on Ubuntu/Mint

  I have a REALLY weird problem with either my network or my OS. Last week I've suddenly had difficulties loading some websites or even more odd some parts of different websites. For example, I could load gmail.com, login and view the list of emails in my inbox but when I clicked one of them it would just time out. Another example is http://www.ynet.co.il, I can view the home page but going into any one of the articles fails (times out). I've tried Chrome, Firefox and Opera, all fail the same way. If I take a URL of a page I cannot load via the browser and try to wget it though the console I get the file just fine. I've formatted my machine (Used to run Ubuntu 13.04) and installed Mint Linux this time, it worked fine for a few days and now, again, having the same exact issues. Important to note that I have other machines connected either directly or via Wi-Fi to the router and they are all working fine (two win7 machines and 1 raspberry pi). Another strange behavior is that I can ftp or ssh to remote machines but cannot send files via ftp (times out) even if I set passive mode ON and when using ssh I can do just about anything but I cannot paste text into the remote machine, for example if I nano a file on the remote machine and try to paste anything from my clipboard it freezes. What I've tried so far: Disable IPv6 on the networking admin (and on firefox disabling ipv6 on the about:config page) Changing the port and the network cable I went to the store and bought a new standalone PCIe network adapter Connected my win7 laptop using the same cable and router port (sites that were not working on my Mint are working just fine on the win7 machine) Loaded Mint from a livecd, got the same result Tried changing the MTU (was 1500, tried 1492) Some observations: When I clear my browser cache and go to facebook.com for example, the homepage loads but I fail to load any profile/group page. If I refresh facebook.com homepage a couple of times it stops and fails to load until I clear my browser cache. I changed the chrome cache folder permissions to 0777 but that did not help. When I run netstat -n I see A LOT of connections that are in 'FIN_WAIT' mode (I'm guessing that's when I try to refresh pages that are not working and timing out), I have no idea what it means or if it helps anyone figure out what's wrong. The sites that are not loading correctly are always that same, they don't vary or anything and they fail to load exactly the same way on all three browsers that I've tried. When I Googled 'Ubuntu some sites not loading' I see a huge amount of complaints just like mine, but none of them that I could find actually says what the problem is or how they fixed it. • ASP.NET aspxerrorpath in URL

  I have a site where I use CustomErrors in the web.config to specify a custom error page, and that's working just fine. The custom 404 page is also specified in the IIS configuration (because if it's not, I don't get my custom 404 page). But I have some logic that kicks in if a user gets a 404 that looks at their requested URL and make a navigation suggestion, if appropriate. This logic relies on the aspxerrorpath value. On my development PC, the aspxerrorpath is correctly appended to the URL, like so: http://localhost:3092/FileNotFound.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/badpage.aspx, but on my test site, there's no aspxerrorpath appended to the URL, so all of my custom logic is bypassed and my suggestions don't work. I'm not sure if this is an IIS config issue or something else. The web server is Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7. Any thoughts? Many Thanks.
