• How to bind data in silverlight? In case I don't know which columns would be retrieved from database

  I am trying to bind data from database to datagrid in silverlight. When I get typed data from DB, it is no problem since I use List<'EntityObject' collection object for example. However, sometimes I need data which I won't be able to know how many and what columns will be generated in design time. In this case, I cannot use typed collection like List<'EntityObject'. In addition, it is not able to use DataSet in silverlight. So, in this case and situation, how to solve this kind of problem? Thanks in advance Kwon

  hy, i have a little, big problem here :) after i upload some images i get a list with all the images. I have some jQuery function for rotate, duplicate, delete, shuffle images! when i select a image and hit delete i send a post to php with the alt="" value of the image,i identify the picture and edit.   Hi, I have been implementing a class which class extends ArrayAdapter and implements Filterable. The filtering part (in the performFiltering method()) seems to go ok, it fills the FilterResults object just as expected. But then I think I'm not doing it right on how to publish the results, atm I have : protected void publishResults(CharSequence prefix, FilterResults results) { // NOTE: this function is *always* called from the UI thread. subItems = (Vector)results.values; notifyDataSetChanged(); } But this simply won't "populate" my List with the received data. So now my question is how do I populate my List with the received results ? Do I have to do that programmatically ?

• jQuery doesn't work after an Ajax post

  Hi, all my projects and their versions are defined in a properties file like this: ProjectNameA=0.0.1 ProjectNameB=1.4.2 I'd like to iterate over all projects and use there names and versions in an ant script. Right now, I read the entire properties file in help of the property task. Then I iterate over a given list in a for loop like this: <for list="ProjectNameA,ProjectNameB" param="project"> <sequential> <echo message="@{project} has version ${@{project}}" /> </sequential> </for> How can I avoid the duplication of the project names in the for loop. So basically iterate over each line and extract the name and the version of a project. Thanks.

Other stuff ...... } I then have a dictionary that is defined like this: public Dictionary<BasePadWI, Canvas> Pad { get; set; } I would then like to make a call like this: List<WorkItem> workItems = Pad.Keys.ToList(); (Note: WorkItem is a sealed class, so I cannot inherit.)   What would be the right way to sort a list of strings where I want items starting with an underscore '_', to be at the bottom of the list, otherwise everything is alphabetical. • InfoPath Getting SharePoint Group Information

  I have an InfoPath form embedded in an aspx page on a SharePoint site. How do I bind the SharePoint user groups to a drop-down list on my form? What I've tried so far is to create a data connection to a web service (method GetGroupCollectionFromWeb) to pull the data. Next, I open the list box properties, select "Look up values from an external data source", select the data source, assign the entries, and I get the following error: "You must select a repeating group or field." What I don't understand is that since the method I am calling is called GetGroupCollectionFromWeb, isn't the return value a collection? And aren't collections repeating by definition? What am I missing, and is there a workaround? Thank you.

• How can I sort an array, yet exclude certain elements (to be kept at the same position in the array)

  This will be implemented in Javascript (jQuery) but I suppose the method could be used in any language. I have an array of items and I need to perform a sort. However there are some items in the array that have to be kept in the same position (same index). The array in question is build from a list of <li> elements and I'm using .data() values attached to the list item as the value on which to sort. • DispatcherOperations.Wait()

  What happens if you call dispatcherOperation.Wait() on an operation that has already completed? Also, the docs say that it returns a DispatcherOperationStatus, but wouldn't that always be Completed since it (supposedly) doesn't return until it's done?   I have a customer product page that literally lives beside the catalog/product/view.phtml page. It's basically identical to that page with a few small exceptions. It's basically a 'product of the day' type page so I can't combine it with the regular product page since I have to fetch the data from the DB and perform a load to get the product information $_product = Mage::getModel('catalog/product')->load($row['productid']); To make a long story short, everything works (including all children html blocks) with the singular exception of the related products. After the load I save the product into the registry with Mage::register('product', $_product); and then attempt to load the related products with: echo $this->getLayout()->createBlock('catalog/product_view')->setTemplate('catalog/product/list/related.phtml')->toHtml();` All of which give back the error: Fatal error: Call to a member function getSize() on a non-object in catalog/product/list/related.phtml on line 29`, and line 29 is <?php if($this->getItems()->getSize()): ?>`. Any help getting the relateds to load would be appreicated.

• Simplest way to create a wrapper class around some strings for a WPF DataGrid?

  I'm building a simple hex editor in C#, and I've decided to use each cell in a DataGrid to display a byte*. I know that DataGrid will take a list and display each object in the list as a row, and each of that object's properties as columns. I want to display rows of 16 bytes each, which will require a wrapper with 16 string properties. While doable, it's not the most elegant solution. Is there an easier way? I've already tried creating a wrapper around a public string array of size 16, but that doesn't seem to work. Thanks *The rational for this is that I can have spaces between each byte without having to strip them all out when I want to save my edited file. Also it seems like it'll be easier to label the rows and columns.

• 2 routers at home- how to connect with VNC?

  I have two routers at home. First router is upstairs and is connected to the cable modem. 2nd router is downstairs and acts as "signal booster" for the 1st router. Devices connected to the upstairs router have IP addresses of the form 192.168.1.n Devices connected to the upstairs router have IP addresses of the form 192.168.2.n. I blindly followed instructions from a website to do this set up, just glad it works! Upstairs I have a PC running Win 7 64 bit. Its assigned IP is 192.168.1.7. I have a VNC viewer running on this. Downstairs I have a 2nd PC running Vista 32 Home edition bit that is connected to the 2nd router and has IP Address 192.168.2.114. VNC server is running on this. It's listening on 5900. There is no firewall. When I try to connect to this downstairs PC from upstairs it fails with message "Failed to connect to server". I cannot ping to this either. If I try to connect to this downstairs PC using VNC Viewer from another computer that's connected to the same downstairs router then it works like a charm. So what's the work around if the viewer is on a different "network"? I don't have any problems doing remote desktop connection from the downstairs PC to the upstairs PC even if they are connected to different routers. Router information- Upstairs- ASUS RTN13U, downstairs- DD-WRT v24 RC-5 Thanks! P.S. I posted this on the Ultra VNC forum as well but that doesn't seem to have a lot of activity, so taking the liberty to multipost.

  How can I hide the New / Actions / Upload / Settings menus within a list or document library in SharePoint? Note that I need to be able to hide these menus for a particular list definition (template) and not just all lists or document libraries. One possible way that I know of is to register a , and set the ControlClass element to a control that inherits from WebControl. In the WebControl, I can override OnPreRender, which then does this: foreach (Control control in this.Parent.Controls) { if (control.ToString() == "Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.NewMenu") { control.Visible = false; } // etc } This is pretty hacky, and I was just wondering if there is a better way of doing it?

I have used var and then iterating over it got the result. But without that any other way by which I can do it? Using C# 3.0 Thanks

It never occurs on ActiveCell.Validation.Delete which I find weird? I have been all over google trying to find a solution, and most suggest that it is caused by running dynamic validation code from a button which hogs focus despite the Activate call, but I am running on sheet change event rather than on button press so I don't think this is my issue - any ideas? I've wasted basically a whole day on this! :(

  "Refer to objects by their interfaces" is a good practise, as mentioned in Effective Java. So for example i prefer List<String> al = new ArrayList<String>(); over ArrayList<String> al = new ArrayList<String>(); in my code. One annoying thing is that if i type ArrayList<String> al = new and then hit Ctrl+Space in Eclipse i get ArrayList<String>() as propostal. But if i type List al = new and then hit Ctrl+Space i will get only propostal to define anonymous inner class, but not propostals such as new ArrayList<String>(), what is 99% the case, or for example new Vector<String>(). Is there any way to get the subclasses as propostals for generic types?

• Sortable with scriptaculous problems

  hello, Im following a few tutorials to sort a list, but i can't get the DB to update. The drag drop side of things is working, also, i javascript alert() the serialize list onUpdate and the order is printed out as follows: images_list[]=20&images_list[]=19 etc... When is that memory cleaned up? I assume that when Factoy.GetToys() returns the ToyBox object, the only reference to the ToyBox object is the one in main(), so when that reference goes out of scope, the Toy objects and the ToyBox object are marked for garbage collection.
