  Possible Duplicate: How closely can a game resemble another game without legal problems I want make a game similar to Pocket Tanks but for Android and then sell it. Since I am not directly copying anything from Pocket Tanks, but simply using it to give me ideas, I should be allowed to make it. I don't want to finish making my game and then get into some legal trouble, so I wanted to ask here if its allowed.   Well, a good chunk of my day has been spent on what was supposed to take minutes... here's the rundown every time, i get stuck while flashing the root file system (freezing, timing out, or error message) i seemingly followed all of the steps and troubleshoots, and repeated them, no such luck. i would not count it out that i still messed one of them up, but does anyone have any ideas? on a side note while i am posting something, anyone know if android bluetooth keyboards play nicely with this ubuntu? i would guess not

  So I downloaded eclipse earlier today so I can start to learn the Android SDK. I typically write java programs with vim from the command line but I was having trouble making the sdk work from the command line. Anyways Eclipse was begin weird so I uninstalled it with Synaptic, then I reinstalled. Now it seems to be working fine except I can't get eclipse to show up in the launcher... Is there anything I may be missing that would make the launcher show up?

• [ExtJs] Vs [Ext GWT] Vs [SmartGWT]

  Hi, I am going to start a new application which mainly consist NavigationPane, Grid, Toolbar. Layout should look like this demo page http://www.gwt-ext.com/demo/ I am quite confused which one to use in terms of writing less code, more performant, etc.. Could someone tell the pros and cons of all these technologies. All the while I coded in javascript, so that way ExtJs seems to be the easy one for me to code. But I am curios to try GWT Ext, Is it true that it could do a lot just by writing few lines of java code. For eg: To achieve the layout ( given in above gwt ext demo url), which one should I opt ExtJs or GWT Ext. I read SmartGWT is relatively slower than GwtEXT. Does it have any advantage over GWT EXT. I am also looking for hibernate based data modules ( as my application is going to have many database calls). Anyone of SmartGWT or GWTExt has support for such modules. I came to know that smartgwt doesn't offer all of smartclient enterprise version functionalities, that we are allowed only a few of smartclient features. Will it be an issue? • Silverlight 4. Activator.CreateInstance uses a huge amount of memory

  Hi, I have been playing a bit with Silverlight and try to port my Silverlight 3.0 application to Silverlight 4.0. My application loads different XAP files and upon a user request create an instance of a Xaml user control and adds it to the main container, in a sort of MEF approach in order I can have an extensible and pluggable application. The application is pretty huge and to keep acceptable the performances and the initial loading I have built up some helper classes to load in the background all pages and user controls that might be used later on. On Silverlight 3.0 everything was running smoothly without any problem so far. Switching to SL 4.0 I have noticed that when the process approaches to create the instances of the user controls using Activator.CreateInstance, the layout freezes unexpectedly for a minute and sometimes for more. Looking at the task manager the memory usage of IE jumps from 50MB to 400MB and sometimes to 1.5 GB. If the process won't take that much the layout is rendered properly and the memory falls back to 50 MB. Otherwise everything crashes due to out of memory exeption. Does anybody encountered the same problem? Or has anybody a solution about this tricky issue? Thans in advance Marco
