• Is it possible to anti alias using Copy swap effect?

  I'm developing an application in VB.Net using Managed DirectX that runs in windowed mode and renders onto a picture box that is smaller than the form. Whenever I resize the form, the back buffer is streched to fit the picture box. This is not what I would like. The backbuffer size is the same as screen size, however, I only want to render a part of the back buffer, whose size is controlled by the size of the picture box into which I'm rendering. Resetting the device with new presentation parameters is something I would like to avoid. I'm aware that I can use an overload of Device.Present if I set the swap effect to copy, but this doesn't allow me to use Multi Sample Anti Alias (which requires the Discard swap effect). It seems to me that the overload Device.Present is not usable with any other swap effect than copy, and throws an exception. An other alternative I considered is the PresentFlags.DeviceClip, however it seems that it works only for Windows XP. I'm using Windows 7 and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. So, is it even possible that I use anti-aliasing in this situation?

  I have some data structures: all_unordered_m is a big vector containing all the strings I need (all different) ordered_m is a small vector containing the indexes of a subset of the strings (all different) in the former vector position_m maps the indexes of objects from the first vector to their position in the second one. The string_after(index, reverse) method returns the string referenced by ordered_m after all_unordered_m[index]. ordered_m is considered circular, and is explored in natural or reverse order depending on the second parameter.   C# has syntax for declaring and using properties. So my question is: can anyone sum up why Java isn't likely to get property syntax? Is it because it's not deemed important enough when compared to other possible improvements? • Setting the correct orientation for scrollbars in right-to-left pages.

  I'm working with right-to-left layouts at the moment (think Hebrew or Arabic). In RTL, the page is generally flipped horizontally. However, I can't figure out how to change the orientation of the scrollbars. I would assume that the scrollbars should appear on the left side of a scrollable element, not the right side like it does in an LTR layout. Here is an example page where the scrollbar still appears on the right: <html dir="rtl"> <body> <div style="height: 100px; overflow: auto;"> <p>This is some text</p> <p>This is some text</p> <p>This is some text</p> <p>This is some text</p> <p>This is some text</p> </body> </html> Is the orientation of a scrollbar a browser locale setting, and thus is not something I should be concerned about, or is there a way to set the orientation of the scrollbar?   Hi all. Problem: I have a method that creates a list from the parsed ArrayList. I manage to show the list in the GUI, without scrollbar. However, I am having problem setting it to show only the size of ArrayList. Meaning, say if the size is 6, there should only be 6 rows in the shown List. Below is the code that I am using. I tried setting the visibleRowCount as below but it does not work.   I have some jQuery code that goes through a table of location results and puts corresponding pins on a map. I am having trouble figuring out how to set the bounds so that when it goes through the loop and generates the markers on the map that it zooms and pans to fit the markers in the view. • jQuery/Ajax IE7 - Long requests fail

  Hi guys, I have a problem with IE7 regarding an ajax call that is made by jQuery.load function. Basically the request works in cases where the URL string is not too long, but as soon as the URL gets very large it fails. Doing some debugging on the Ajax call I found this error: URL: <blanked out security reasons but it's very long> Content Type: Headers size (bytes): 0 Data size (bytes): 0 Total size (bytes): 0 Transferred data size (bytes): 0 Cached data: No Error result: 0x800c0005 Error constant: INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND Error description: The server or proxy was not found Extended error result: 0x7a Extended error description: The data area passed to a system call is too small. As you can see, it looks like nothing is being sent. Now this only happens on IE7 but not other browsers, with IE8 there is a small delay but still works. The same request works fine when the URL string is relatively small. Now I need this working on IE7 for compatibility reasons and I cannot find workarounds for this so any help is greatly appreciated. The actual ajax call is like this: $("ID").load("url?lotsofparams",callbac func(){}); "lotsofparams" can vary, sometimes being small or very large. It's when the string is very large that I get the above error for IE7 only.

  I need to get all the text nodes with a certain font-face in a page to an array. Seems getComputedStyle() is the way to go. Is there anyway I can use a hybrid of xpath evaluate() and getComputedStyle() or any other way to achieve this?

Is it exists more convinient object for storing string lines in memory? ideally i want dump it to one big string. I can get it like this "\n".join(self.dumps) from code above. Mb it's better to just concat strings - self.dumps += text ?
