    in a controller you can use this method to load a view. but i want to know behind the scenes here. im new to php and frameworks, but i’ve learned the basics of OOP. when $this-view() is made then the method in the current class or the parent class is used. but what does this mean: $this-load-view(). what is the intermediate load? is it a function or is it a property? where is it located? how could it contain view()? grateful for explanation.

    I need your help to understand this better. This is my case. I have a custom validator for each of my input controls in the form. So when there is any validation error,I add a corresponding FacesMessage in the validate method. My understanding was that when there is any validation error - or when there are any FacesMessages added in the validate method of the Custom Validator, it would skip the INVOKE APPLICATION phase and would directly call the RENDER RESPONSE PHASE - showing the FacesMessage that was added in the PROCESS VALIDATION Phase - Is this correct? The problem I'm facing is - I add a FacesMessage in the PROCESS VALIDATION Phase - because of a validation error - and I add a confirmation message for the action that was taken by the user in the INVOKE APPLICATION PHASE - Now both are shown in the page in the RENDER RESPONSE Phase ? - If my understanding is correct in the above question - is it the best practice to conditionally add a confirmation FacesMessage after confirming that there are no FacesMessages in the currect FacesContext ? Appreciate your help.

Removing the parentheses around the lambda yields Cannot convert 'lambda expression' to non-delegate type 'MonoTouch.Foundation.NSDateComponents'. What is the correct C# syntax? I need to retain the closures as there are a lot more in the code base that I am porting.

    Hi I'm trying to write a piece of code for a simple verification method as part of a MVC. At present the SQL is not written as a prepared statement so obviously it is at risk to a SQL injection so any help in regards to writing the SQL as a prepared statement would be really helpful.     HI, I am trying to retrive the filname of the image file from a file path in my code. My filepath: c:\mydocuments\pictures\image.jpg which method can i use in c# to get he filename of the above mentioned path. Like String file = image.jpg I have used the system.drawing to get he path, but it returns null. my code: string file = System.drawing.image.fromfile(filepath,true); Is this the right way to get the image file name or is there any other inbuilt method in c#. Pls help me on this?

  • I can't change a value, for a web service using an axiom client!

    Hi.I just started learning about web serices. I succesfuly installed Tomcat, and deployed axis2 on it. I followed the tutorial from here http://ws.apache.org/axis2/1_1_1/quickstartguide.html . I made the StockQuoteService web service, moved the .aar file in the WEB-INF/services folder and tested it - it worked all fine. Then I made a client for the servce. I took the source code of the file AXIOMClient.java from the dir described here http://ws.apache.org/axis2/1_1_1/quickstartguide.html#clientaxiom , imported the classes in Eclipse Java IDE and runned it. I tested and the update method works from the browser when calling http://localhost:8080/axis2/services/StockQuoteService/update?symbol=WSO&price=144 But from my java client update method is not working at all, when calling getPrice I always receive 42.00. What am I doing wrong? or, how can I trace what is happening?

    i have a UITextView object which i have created in interface builder with it's hidden property unmarked.Now i want this textView to be invisible when my application launches and first view appears.Further i want it to be displayed when a particular method is called.Now this is what i have written in view did load [mTextView setHidden:YES]; self.mTextView=[[UITextView alloc] init]; it hides the textView ats the first view appears but when my desired method is called and i write [mTextView setHidden:NO]; it does not show it again.. Is it like we cant change the appearance of a textView once it is assigned because after assigning memory as self.mTextView=[[UITextView alloc] init]; and then writing [mTextView setHidden:YES]; it does not hide textView in viwDidLoad either.....

    I'm using an MVC pattern in winforms application. I need to call remote service asynchronously. So On some event in View I invoke corresponding Presenter method. In Presenter I call BeginInvoke method of service. But to View must be updated only in Main Thread. I could actualy point CallBack to some function in View, and update it`s controls state, but this conflicts with MVP pattern - View must not be responsible for data it carries. This callback function must be in Presenter. But how then invoke View in Main Thread?

    I have checked out all these questions... Difference Class and Instance Methods Difference between class methods and instance methods? Objective-C: Class vs Instance Methods? ...and all they explain is how instance methods are used on instances of a class and class methods are used with the class name, when a message is sent to a class object. This is helpful, but I'm curious to know why one would use a class method vs. an instance method. I'm fairly new to iOS application development, and usually use class methods, and I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Thanks in advanced!

    Hi, Experts: Can you please give some suggestions on sqlite using at xcode? Within my application, I use a sqlite DB to store all local data. Two methods can be used to retrieve those data during running time. 1, Load all the data into memory at initialization stage. (More memory used, less DB open/close operation needed) 2, Read corresponding records when necessary, free the occupied memory after using. (Good habit for memory using, but much DB open/close operations needs). I prefer to use method 2, but not sure whether too many DB opening/closing operations could affect app's efficiency. Or do you think I can 'upgrade' method 2 by opening DB when app launches and closing DB when app quits? Thanks for your suggestions very much!

    I have an object elem that I'd like to pass to the remove_tag_from_cart method. Here is my attempt: -elem = @tags[1] #{elem.name}#{link_to_remote image_tag('x.png'), :url => {:controller => 'questions', :action => 'remove_tag_from_cart'}, :with => {:tag_to_remove => :elem}} The :with clause isn't working correctly. The image does not even show up. If I take out the :with clause, then the link properly shows up and calls the method correctly, but I need the elem object in order to remove it from the cart. Suggestions?

    Hi, I don't know if my question will be clear or not, but i'm starting basic stuff with iphone programming, and i'm trying to understand how to go from a screen to another. lets say i have a screen with a "next page" button and another page with a "return" button. I have a general idea of how to do this, but I don't know how to put it together. I think I need an IBAction method for each button, and in each method a navigation controller with pushViewController.     I am trying to set up error handling for a MS-Access application. The standard method to do this seems to be with an On Error statement in each subroutine/function. It seems simpler to me to use the Form_Error function to catch all the runtime errors in that form as opposed to an On Error statement for each sub/function called by an event on that form. (Obviously, for code in modules, there is no Form_Error function and therefore the only method is the On Error statement) What are the pros and cons of using On Error vs Form_Error?

  • Read from file in eclipse

    I'm trying to read from a text file to input data to my java program. However, eclipse continuosly gives me a Source not found error no matter where I put the file. I've made an additional sources folder in the project directory, the file in question is in both it and the bin file for the project and it still can't find it. I even put a copy of it on my desktop and tried pointing eclipse there when it asked me to browse for the source lookup path. No matter what I do it can't find the file. here's my code in case it's pertinent: System.out.println(System.getProperty("user.dir")); File file = new File("file.txt"); Scanner scanner = new Scanner(file); in addition, it says the user directory is the project directory and there is a copy there too.   • Android: setting up a google map class. bit of advice required.

    Hey there, Ok so this is what i've got. Button anandabutton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.anandaAddressButton); anandabutton.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { Intent myIntent = new Intent(view.getContext(),MapClass.class); startActivityForResult(myIntent,0); } }); This method opens up my MapClass class which at the moment I just have set to show the location of one place. But I have a load of buttons and rather than making a lot of different mapClass classes for each button, I am wondering can I just use the one class and depending on what button 'id' is pressed, it will check an 'if statement' and then put in the correct coordinates into the method to display the map. It would be a lot neater than coding up like 20-30 classes. I'm not sure if i've explained that right so if not let me know. Thanks for any help.

  • flash.media.Sound.play takes long time to return

    I'm trying to play some sounds in my flash project through action script. However for some reason in my code the call to Sound.play takes from 40ms to over 100ms in extreme cases, which is obviously more than enough to be very noticeable whenever a sound is played. This happens every time a sound is played, not just when that sound is first played, so I dont think its because the Sound object is still loading data or anything like that... At the start I have this to load the sound: class MyClass { [Embed(source='data/test_snd.mp3')] private var TestSound:Class; private var testSound:Sound;//flash.media.Sound public function MyClass() { testSound = new TestSound(); } Then im just using the play method of the sound object to play it later on. testSound.play();//seems to take a long time to return This as far as I can tell is following the same process as other Flash programs I found, however none of them seem to have this problem. Is there something that I've missed that would cause the play() method to be so slow?

    Like many of us, I have an apache server (2.2.15, plus patches) with a lot of virtual hosts on it. More than I have IPv4 addresses, to be sure, which is why I use NameVirtualHost to run lots of them on the same IPv4 address. I'm busily trying to get everything I do IPv6-enabled. This server now has a routed /64, which gives me an awful lot of v6 addresses to throw around. What I'm trying to find is a simple way to tell each v4-NameVirtualHost that it should also function as a VirtualHost on a unique ipv6 address. I really, really don't want to have to define each virtual host twice. Does anyone know of an elegant way to do this? Or to do something comparable, in case I've embedded any dangerously-ignorant assumptions in my question?

  • ASP.NET profile deletion

    We use the ASP.NET profile subsystem to associate key-value pairs of information with users. I am implementing functionality for the deletion of users. I have been using the ProfileManager.DeleteProfile(string userName) method, but I have noticed that this leaves a row in the aspnet_Users table in the aspnetdb database we use to store the profile information. Clearly, I could manipulate the database directly, but I am reluctant to do so. What is the best way to ensure all information assocaited with a user is deleted from the aspnetdb? PS: there is a tantalising Membership.DeleteUser(string userName, bool deleteEverything) method, but this returns a database connection error. A web.config issue?
