  I Wrote an Http Module that checks if logged user is restricted disables images on the page. void application_AuthorizeRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { . . . if (context.User.IsInRole("Restricted")) { context.Response.StatusCode = 401; context.Response.End(); } The code works fine. When the page loads, every image on the screen disapears. but when I go to another page and click back button on the browser and goto previous page images appear. What should I? • What is the best way to manage one's session variables?

  In my .NET web app, I keep basic user info in a user session object. I also usually keep a director class in the session; which is basically just has info about whatever thing it being worked on on that screen (like a customer id). I am trying to keep from adding a ton of sessions. I also want to make sure at any given time ONLY the sessions that are necessary are in memory. This means I need an effective way of managing my session variables. Any suggestions?

The problem is I only want the inner div to scrollTo and the outer div to remain at the top of the screen. • Multiple video overlay - need advice

  Hi, I'm working on a project and I need some advice. Just some background, Im not a programmer though at times I do some fiddling and I am generally comfortable with more specific terms. Now for the actual issue, I have a folder with 10 small videos (4/7 secs max each) and I would like to display them full screen looping and overlaid. I'm not too sure on at what should I be looking at, I thought maybe processing but my most serious issue if that I cant even ask for help since I don't know what I need. Thank you for your time.

  Hi there, I'd like to set up a layer tree containing images. the super layer will be bigger than the iPhone bounds and i'd like the user to drag it with the finger to let him discovering pictures that are out of the screen... is it feasible ? In the same way, I'd like to user to be able to zoom and turn the layer to see more details on images ... I plan to use core animation with layer tree having the super layer holding all images ... Am I on the right path ?

• Modal View Controller with keyboard on landscape iPad changes location when dismissed

  I present a modal view controller on my on my iPad with UIModalPresentationFormSheet presentation style and UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical transition style. The Modal View Controller contains a UIWebView with some TextFields on it. When the user taps one of the text fields the keyboard comes up. I have noticed that in landscape mode after the keyboard is shown, if I try to dismiss the modal view controller with animation the view changes its position from the center of the screen to the left side just before the animation starts.. This happens only if the keyboard is up and only in landscape mode on the iPad. If the user closes the modal view without pressing on any text field this doesn't happen. Anyone familiar with this strange behavior?

• Can I use Sikuli as an Jython library in my project?

  Sikuli is really cool, but it's working in its buildin Jython environment, the Sikuli IDE. So I m wondering is it possible to import Sikuli as an external library to my Jython library? I saw from Sikuli's website that they have this Python module which provides all Sikuli actions like click and type. • How should I manage data in an 2D vector based animation program?

  I've been trying to design a program that makes 2D animations and then uses the ffmpeg library to create the video for possible use in tv and movies. The problem is when I think about how to manage the data in the application I can only think of two ways, I don't think either of them will work out very well. One is to use an SQlite database, but it seems like it will be difficult to save, especially if an artist puts 1000 things on screen. The other is to use something like linked lists, which would duplicate many features of the database and get complicated when dealing with things like points on a bezier curve and jumping to a frame and collecting all the objects that need to be drawn on that frame. Should I use one of these solutions, or is there something else that would be better? Currently planning to use C# for code.

Is there a better way to do this as in a way to fillin the text body box of gmail compose section. Or some way to open the page and have it prefilled with javascript some how...

I want it to be done in this way: Just put a code (server side scripting) linking to a text file or PHP file, and the code will extract the text and output in my blogspot blog. What i DONT want is to use javascript. Beacause, if i use javascript then the output will be seen only in the users screen. I want the output to be seen by Google Bot too. I know when a Pocket PC's screen turns off, it goes into a standby mode and applications are pretty much halted in the background. My application can't do that. It needs to keep going. So my question is, how can I keep the phone alive (backlight turned on) until my application is done? An example of this would be video streaming applications such as Youtube. It keeps the phone on while the video is playing.

I'm not interested in WAP/WML for this project. I'm building a ASP.Net 4 MCV 2 app and using MBDF What I'd like to know is how best to define this differentiation when using MBDF? Screen size, Javascript, SpportsTouchScreen etc. are all in MBDF along with others but I'm not sure where to draw the line and where the data is most accurate for the broad number of devices. What do those of you out there developing for this spread of hardware & software split on? Thanks, Denis P.S. • Make two servers talk to each other

  I have application written in GWT and hosted on Google AppEngine/Java. In this application user will have an option to upload video/audio/text file to the server. Those files could be big, up to 1gb or so and because GAE/J does not support large file I have to use another server to store those files. This would be easy to implement if there was no cross-domain security feature in browsers. So, what I'm thinking is to make GAE Server talk to my server (Glassfish or any other java servers if needed) to tell url to the file and if possible send status of uploaded file (how many percent was uploaded) so I can show status on clients screen. Here is what I'm thinking to do. When user loads GWT page that is stored on GAE/J he/she will upload file to my server, then my server will send response back to GAE and GAE will send response to the client. If this scenario is possible what would be the best way to implement GAE to Glassfish conversation?

  In VS2008, I have a web-site project. When I use find in files and search for a string, the find results window will list every occurence twice. What could be causing this? [EDIT] Below is the screen capture from VS. I was searching for the work CommissionBucketProductID within my website project. Notice that each line is returned twice. [EDIT2] In response to your questions. I am only searching within the project, not the whole solution. I currently don't have these files under VSS, although they were in the past.

• How to get CEdit to scroll properly?

  I have a CEdit control that's used to display a diagnostics output. Sometimes the data overflows the screen size, so naturally I set the Vertical Scroll property to true (MFC dialog editor). But then, when I tried to scroll the text that was in the window before isn't cleared and the new text is written over it. The result is a big mess of everything I have scrolled past. I've looked for a draw background property or something similar that will erase everything in the window while scrolling (before redrawing the new data). Any suggestions?

  In my application, I'm displaying a fullscreen image in a 320 x 480 frame. After I display the image, I fade the navigation bar out to allow the user to see the whole picture. When the user taps in the area where the navigation bar was, I would like to bring the navigation bar back. This is very similar to what happens in the iPhone Photos app. Unfortunately, after I've hidden the UINavigationBar, I can't process touches on the screen where the navigation bar once was. I believe this is because the origin of the parent view is right below the navigation bar: How can I process touches in this area to bring the nav bar back?

The idea is if someone selects something on the first screen say then a new view opens(tableview) car make> list of models Honda > Acura, S2000,accord ... My challenge is to show the list of models in a new tableview & secondly change the size of hte list depending on the car selected. • How can I click a button behind a transparent UIView?

  Let's say we have a view controller with one sub view. the subview takes up the center of the screen with 100 px margins on all sides. We then add a bunch of little stuff to click on inside that subview. We are only using the subview to take advantage of the new frame ( x=0, y=0 inside the subview is actually 100,100 in the parent view). Then, imagine that we have something behind the subview, like a menu. I want the user to be able to select any of the "little stuff" in the subview, but if there is nothing there, I want touches to pass through it (since the background is clear anyway) to the buttons behind it. How can I do this? It looks like touchesBegan goes through, but buttons don't work.

  How to convert from Euler's coordinates E1 = (x1, y1, z1, yaw1, pitch1, roll1) to E2 = (x2, y2, z2, yaw2, pitch2, roll2) where x, y, z are the coordinates of a point and yaw, pitch, roll the direction/orientation of a vector which origin is the point. yaw is around y, pitch around x, roll around z. They are performed in that order. Yaw 0 is normal to the plan xy (opposite to z in E1 and equal to z in E2). E1 uses a right handed space and E2 a left handed space. Both have the same origin, the same direction for y (top) and z (into the screen). They differ by x which is to the left on E1 and to the right on E2. They also differ by their direction of positive rotations. I've a custom type to hold the scalar representation and to convert from and to the equivalent WPF Matrix3d representation.

• Rotate image in Quartz? Image is upside down! (iPhone)

  I don't want to transform the ENTIRE context. I'm making a game with Quartz, and I'm drawing my player with lines, rects and ellipses. And then I have diamong.png which I rendered at 0,0 in the top left of the screen. Problem is... It renders upside down! How would I rotate it 180 degrees? • Why would Silverlight be crashing in Release but not in Debug mode?

  I have a Silverlight App that has worked well in Debug and Release modes for weeks. It still works well in Debug mode. However, now when I run it in Release mode, it starts, shows me the screen, loads the data, then hangs, and the browser (Firefox) closes automatically. I've tried other browsers and each of them crashes, Chrome says "The Silverlight Plug-In has crashed" for instance.   I'm using xampp for my php. And I have download a code igniter and save it on my htdocs. I already made a databasing and a sample page. My only problem is how can I link my css. Where should I save my style.css? How can I call my style.css? <link rel="stylesheet" href="<? base_url(); ?>stylesheet/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen"/> I have this but still have a problem. Is there a step by step on how to link a css? Thank You.

• showSettings callback in Flex?

  I am pretty new to flex, so forgive me if this is an obvious question. Is there a way to open the Security.showSettings (flash.system.Security) with a callback? or at least to detect if it is currently open or not? My flex application is used for streaming audio, and is normally controlled by javascript, so I keep it hidden for normal use (via absolute positioning it off the page). When I need microphone access I need to make the flash settings dialog visible, which works fine, I move it into view and open the dialog. When the user closes it, I need to move it back off the screen so they don't see an empty flex app sitting there after they change their settings. thanks :)

• Screenshot of the Nexus One from adb?

  My goal is to be able to type a one word command and get a screenshot from a rooted Nexus One attached by USB. So far, I can get the framebuffer which I believe is a 32bit xRGB888 raw image by pulling it like this: adb pull /dev/graphics/fb0 fb0 From there though, I'm having a hard time getting it converted to a png. I'm trying with ffmpeg like this: ffmpeg -vframes 1 -vcodec rawvideo -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb8888 -s 480x800 -i fb0 -f image2 -vcodec png image.png That creates a lovely purple image that has parts that vaguely resemble the screen, but it's by no means a clean screenshot.
