JList - deselect when clicking an already selected item

If a selected index on a JList is clicked, I want it to de-select. In other words, clicking on the indices actually toggles their selection. Didn't look like this was supported, so I tried list.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter() { public void mousePressed(MouseEvent evt) { java.awt.Point point = evt.getPoint(); int index = list.locationToIndex(point); if (list.isSelectedIndex(index)) list.removeSelectionInterval(index, index); } }); The problem here is that this is being invoked after JList has already acted on the mouse event, so it deselects everything. So then I tried removing all of JList's MouseListeners, adding my own, and then adding all of the default listeners back. That didn't work, since JList would reselect the index after I had deselected it. I working on different web-services, and I always use WSDL First. Inherited fluent nhibenate mapping issue

I have an interesting issue today!! Basically I have two classes. public class A : B { public virtual new ISet<DifferentItem> Items {get;set;} } public class B { public virtual int Id {get;set;} public virtual ISet<Item> Items {get;set;} } The subclass A hides the base class B property, Items and replaces it with a new property with the same name and a different type. The mappings for these classes are public class AMapping : SubclassMap<A> { public AMapping() { HasMany(x=>x.Items) .LazyLoad() .AsSet(); } } public class BMapping : ClassMap<B> { public BMapping() { Id(x=>x.Id); HasMany(x=>x.Items) .LazyLoad() .AsSet(); } } However when I run my unit test to check the mapping I get the following exception: Tests the A mapping: NHibernate.PropertyAccessException : Invalid Cast (check your mapping for property type mismatches); setter of A ---- System.InvalidCastException : Unable to cast object of type 'NHibernate.Collection.Generic.PersistentGenericSet1[Item]' to type 'Iesi.Collections.Generic.ISet1[DifferentItem]'. Anyone have any ideas? Clearly it is something to do with the type of the collection on the sub-class. But I skimmed through the available options on the mapping class and nothing stood out as being the solution here.

Shellcode for a simple stack overflow doesn't start a shell

Hi, I played around with buffer overflows on Linux (amd64) and tried exploiting a simple program, but it failed. I disabled the security features (address space layout randomization with sysctl -w kernel.randomize_va_space=0 and nx bit in the bios). It jumps to the stack and executes the shellcode, but it doesn't start a shell. Seems like the execve syscall fails. Any idea what's wrong? Running the shellcode standalone works just fine. Bonus question: Why do I need to set rax to zero before calling printf? Using JSON with jRails

I am currently trying to use AJAX in my application via jRails. I am trying to return a JSON object from my controller, and then parse it in my Javascript. I am using json2.js to do the parsing. Here is the code I currently have: function getSomething() { $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "map/testjson", success: function(data) { var myData = JSON.parse(data[0]); window.alert(myData.login); } }); } and in the controller: class Map::MapController < ApplicationController def index end def testjson @message = User.find(:all) ActiveRecord::Base.include_root_in_json = false respond_to do |w| w.json { render :json => @message.to_json } end end end The window.alert simply says 'undefined' (without tics). However, if I change the javascript to window.alert(data) (the raw object returned by the controller) I get: [{"salt":"aSalt","name":"", "created_at":"2010-03-15T02:34:25Z","remember_token_expires_at": null,"crypted_password":"aPassword", "updated_at":"2010-03-15T02:34:25Z","id":1,"remember_token":null, "login":"zgwrig2","email":"[email protected]"}] This looks like an array of size 1, if I'm looking at it correctly, but I have tried just about every combination of JSON.parse on the data object that I can think of, and nothing seems to work. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here?

certificate issues running app in windows 7 ?

Hi, I'm having some problems with my App. I'm using 'org.mentalis.security' assembly to create a certificate object from a 'pfx' file, this is the line of code where the exception occurs : Certificate cert = Certificate.CreateFromPfxFile(publicKey, certificatePassword); this has always worked and still does in production, but for some reason it throws an exception when run in windows 7 (tried it on 2 machines). CertificateException : Unable to import the PFX file! [error code = -2146893792] I can't find much on this message via google, but when checking the EventViewer I get an 'Audit Failure' every time this exception occurs: Event ID = 5061 Source = Microsoft Windows Security Task Category = system Integrity Keywords = Audit Failure Cryptographic operation. Subject: Security ID: NT AUTHORITY\IUSR Account Name: IUSR Account Domain: NT AUTHORITY Logon ID: 0x3e3 Cryptographic Parameters: Provider Name: Microsoft Software Key Storage Provider Algorithm Name: Not Available. Key Name: VriendelijkeNaam Key Type: User key. Cryptographic Operation: Operation: Open Key. Return Code: 0x2 ` I'm not sure why this isn't working on win 7, I've never had problems when I was running on Vista with this. I am running VS2008 as administrator but I guess that maybe the ASP.NET user doesn't have sufficient rights or something. GHC 6.12 and MacPorts

I recently installed GHC 6.12 and the Haskell Platform 2010.1.0.1 on my Intel MacBook running OS X 10.5.8, and initially, everything worked fine. However, I discovered that if I use cabal install to install a package which depends on a MacPorts library (e.g., cabal install --extra-lib-dirs=/opt/local/lib --extra-include-dirs=/opt/local/include gd), things work fine in GHCi, but if I try to compile, I get the error Linking test ... Undefined symbols: "_iconv_close", referenced from: _hs_iconv_close in libHSbase-4.2.0.0.a(iconv.o) "_iconv", referenced from: _hs_iconv in libHSbase-4.2.0.0.a(iconv.o) "_iconv_open", referenced from: _hs_iconv_open in libHSbase-4.2.0.0.a(iconv.o) ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status After some Googling, I found a long Haskell-cafe thread discussing this problem. The upshot seems to be that MacPorts installs an updated version of libiconv, and the binary interface is slightly different from the version included with the system. Consequently, if you try to link with any MacPorts library, the MacPorts libiconv gets linked in too; and since the base library was built to link against a different version of libiconv, things break. I've tried setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH and DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH and adding more flags to try to get it to look at /usr/lib again (e.g. cabal install --extra-lib-dirs=/opt/local/lib --extra-include-dirs=/opt/local/include --extra-lib-dirs=/usr/lib --extra-include-dirs=/usr/include gd), but neither worked. Uninstalling the MacPorts libiconv isn't really an option, since I have a bunch of ports installed which depend on it---including some ports I want Haskell to link to, like gd2. From what I've seen online, the upshot really seems to be "you're boned": you cannot link against any MacPorts library while compiling with GHC, and there doesn't seem to be a solution. However, that thread was from the end of 2009, so I figure there's a chance that someone has a solution, workaround, ridiculous hack… anything, really. So: does anybody know how to get GHC 6.12 to link against the system libiconv at the same time as it links to libraries from MacPorts? Or, failing that, a way to make linking not break in some other clever way?

This 404 seems unavoidable - what am I doing wrong? [Ninject 2.0 with ASP.NET MVC 2 on .NET 4]

I downloaded the fairly new Ninject 2.0 and Ninject.Web.Mvc (targeting mvc2) sources today, and successfully built them against .NET 4 (release configuration). When trying to run an application using Ninject 2.0, i keep getting 404 errors and I can't figure out why. Hi, I have console application. In that i have some process that fetch the data from database through different layers ( business and Data access). stores the fetched data in respective objects. Like if data is fetched for student then this data will store (assigned ) to Student object. same for school. and them a delegate call the certain method that generates outputs as per requirement. This process will execute many times say 10 times. Ok? I want to run simultaneously this process. not one will start, it will finish and then second will start. I want after starting 1'st process, just 2'nd , 3rd....10'th must be start. Means it should be multithreading. how can i achieve this ? is that will give me error while connection with data base open and close ? I have tried this concept . but when thread 1'st is starting then data will fetched for thread 1 will stored in its respective (student , school) objects. ok? when simultaneous 2'nd thread starts , but the data is changing of 1'st object ,while control flowing in program. What have to do?

MVC 2.0 - JqGrid Sorting with Mulitple Tables

I am in the process of implementing the jqGrid and would like to be able to use the sorting functionality. I have run into some issues with sorting columns that are related to the base table. What am i doing wrong?

Is there any special tool for interactive GUI development

Hi, Currently I am preparing exercises about networks and mobile communications for students. I was thinking about creating an interactive user-interface which enables the user to drag&drop predefined elements and then implement a logic based upon element distances etc. An example would be to place two base stations (a predefined element with several properties), set the scale in the interface and then check the signal interferrence in the environment (user-interface). The first part might be too abstract whereas the example might be too specific, but I was wondering whether there already exists any friendly framework or language which enables developers to create interactive interfaces (for teaching/learning purpouses) in short ammount of time. Usually I write applications for PC environment in .NET but in this case it would take too much time to create a specific interface for every exercise. I would appreciate if anyone could suggest any way to create interactive user-interface in short ammount of time. Are there any special programming languages or development tools for this kind of applications or are there any useful frameworks for .NET, Java or any other language to speed up the development of user-interfaces? Treebeard admin in Django

I've setup Treebeard in Django and everything seems to have gone well. I tried to setup the admin system and I can see my models being presented in the admin interface. However, when I try to add new data using the admin interface, I get the following error in my template. The code still works fine, and I did a check in my DB and the data seems to be inserted properly. However, the view doesn't seem to load properly. Any idea about what is causing this?? The exception am getting is.. I'm triying to compile my iPhone app from ssh. This is for my build tool that run in another machine. The base sdk is iPhone Device 3.0. Getting "Comment post not allowed (400)" when using Django Comments

I'm going through a Django book and I seem to be stuck. The code base used in the book is .96 and I'm using 1.0 for my Django install. The portion I'm stuck at is related to Django comments (django.contrib.comments). When I submit my comments I get "Comment post not allowed (400) Why: Missing content_type or object_pk field". I've found the Django documentation to be a bit lacking in this area and I'm hoping to get some help. The comment box is displayed just fine, it's when I submit the comment that I get the above error (or security warning as it truly appears). Implementing BindingList<T>

I am trying to learn more about BindingList because I believe that it will help me with a project that I am working on. Currently, I have an object class (ScannedImage) that is a subtype of a class (HashedImage) that subtypes a native .Net object (Image). There is no reason why I couldn't move the two subtypes together. I am simply subtyping an object that I had previously constructed, but I will now be storing my ScannedImage object in an RDB (well, not technically - only the details and probably the thumbnail). Also, the object class has member types that are my own custom types (Keywords). I am using a custom datagridview to present these objects, but am handling all changes to the ScannedImage object with my own code. As you can probably imagine, I have quite a few events to handle that occur in these base types. So, if I changed my object to implement INotifyPropertyChanged, would the object collection (implementing BindingList) receive notifications of changes to the ScannedImage object? Also, if Keywords were to implement INotifyPropertyChanged, would changes be accessible to the BindingList through the ScannedImage object? Sorry if this seems rather newbish. I only recently discovered the BindingList and not having formal training in C# programming - am having a difficult time moving forward with this. Also, if anyone has any good reference material, I would be thankful for links. Obviously, I have perused the MSDN Library. I have found a few good links on the web, but it seems that a lot of people are now using WPF and ObservableCollection. My project is based on Winforms and .Net3.5 framework. TIA
