• Adding a SVN repository in Eclipse

  I'm trying to add an svn repository to eclipse. I've installed subclipse, and it seems to be working fine. But, when I try to "add a new SVN repository", I input this, for example: http://svn.python.org/projects/peps/trunk I get this: Error validating location: "org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: RA layer request failed svn: OPTIONS of 'http://svn.python.org/projects/peps/trunk': could not connect to server (http://svn.python.org) " Keep location anyway? I know that my eclipse can connect to the 'net because I downloaded subclipse earlier (I had to change my proxy settings). I get a similar message for other SVN locations I've tried to add. Anyone have any solutions?

• Can't read query string if default index file name is omitted?

  Is there an issue with IIS or ASP Classic where *Request.ServerVariables("QUERY_STRING")* returns blank if no default file name is given in the URL? On my local developer machine, I can do http://localhost/xslt/?opcs/abc which returns "opcs/abc". However, on our ancient web server, it returns nothing. I have to explicitly give it the default file name in the URL. Like so http://localhost/xslt/default.asp?opcs/abc While nothing too major, it is a little bit of a annoyance. One way I can maybe think of remidying the problem is have Javascript read the URL and return everything after the ?. Unfortunately, I do not know what version of IIS or ASP we are using. Thank you.

• What is cached on a client machine when using https.

  I have an application that is working on https for everybody and on http for all but two users. The two users get a JavaScript error when trying to "edit" a page while on http but can edit the page on https. The problem is for occurs for both IE6 and FF3.6 for one of these users. Others have no problem using any browser. I have used Charles Proxy to look at the server response and no request is being made to https when on http and all browser requests return successfully. I have cleared all caches known to me on the clients (browser, jvm). Are http and https caches stored in different locations on the clients computers. Could a cached encrypted file be being read on the unencrypted port.

  I'm trying to make an unobtrusive action for deleting bookmarks in CakePHP. Allthough it's working just fine, I suspect there must be a better way to do this. • Modify Emdeded String in C# compiled exe

  I have an issue where I need to be able to have a compiled exe ( .net 3.5 c# ) that I will make copies of to distribute that will need to change a key for example before the exe is sent out. I cannot compile each time a new exe is needed. This is a thin client that will be used as part of a registration process. Is it possible to add a entry to a resource file with a blank value then when a request comes in have another application grab the blank default thin client, copy it, populate the blank value with the data needed. If yes how? If no do you have any ideas? I have been scratching my head for a few days now and the limitation as due to the boundaries I am required to work in. The other idea I has was to inject the value into a method, which I have no idea how I would even attempt that. Thanks.

• Server crash = How does a TCP/IP (and the browser-client) behave after this?

  Hello Experts, i would be thankfull for an explanation what happens with HTTP(TCP/IP) transmissions when the server crashes unexpectedly, how does the client Browser (Firefox / IE) handle this event. What happens in the following two standard cases: Clients-actively sends data: The TCP/IP Connection has been estableshed and the Client (Web-Browser) is Sending a POST Request with some data and in the middle of the process of sending the server crashes. What does this mean for the client? As far as I know TCP/IP does not "acknowledge" a send data-package so the client does not know that the server crashed. How will the client behave? (Firefox and Internet Explorer)? The Server is actively sending data: As above the tcp/ip connection has been established and the Server is sending a large website to the client (browser). In the middle of the sending-process the server crashes, so no futher packets are sent. How does the client browser react to this event (Firefox and Interne Expolrer) Thank you very much!! Jens

• Why packets injected with libpcap are duplicated?

  I'm using sharppcap in order to send packets as part of a monitoring system. Usually it works well but I've encountered the strangest bug on a hosted vista machine and I would like your help. On that virtual vista machine, injected packets are duplicated. That is, if I send a ping request using libpcap, it somehow gets duplicated and I get two requests on the destination machine. The two requests are almost identical byte-wise, and the only difference between them is that the second packet's TTL field is one minus the original packet's value. Using wireshark I can see the packet gets duplicated before it (and its clone) leave the vista machine. The problem is manifested even when using other tools for injecting packets using libpcap (namely PlayCap). Any ideas?

• REST authentication internal project (iPhone to grails app) using 2 legged oauth?

  Hi, I'm creating an iPhone project, and will be communicating with a server via REST. I will be sending push notifications, initiated from another service. I would like to authenticate all communication from the iPhone to my server (e.g., synchronising notifications with the server as the push request is not guaranteed to go through) 2 legged Oauth seems to be the ideal solution, however there is not a lot of information regarding it, especially as most of the libraries seem to be oriented towards consumers and not providers. What library should I use? Is Oauth overkill? If so what do you recommend? I'm looking for the simplest possible solution at the moment; If it is going to take me more than a week to implement Oauth, it's simply not worth it. Thanks

• Zend_Form validation problem

  I am having problems getting validation to work for a form built using Zend_Form. The idea is this: I have two dropdown. One is a list of players. The other is a list of free agents who play the same position as the player. I am using an onChange javascript callback to run some Ajax code that replaces the free agent list dropdown with a new one at the position of the player they've selected from the player dropdown. Now, perhaps this is the wrong way, but I built the form by creating an instance of Zend_Form and then creating all these setX methods that add elements to the form. My reasoning was that I wanted to display certain elements in specific places on the page, not just output $this-form on my template. The problem appears to be when I get the form post back, the validator seems to not know about the validation rule I set up for the free agent drop down. Here's some relevant code to look at. I'm a relative ZF n00b so feel free to tell me I am not doing things the ZF way if it leaps out at you.   Hi, I just installed Help Center Live which works fine, but I would like to make just one minor adjustment and after looking almost everywhere I couldn't find the file where the text was listen in. At the end of each chat the user can request a copy of the transcript. I tested it and it got into the spam folder of my email client. Why, I don't know, but the point here is I would lik to add some text. After a user finishes a chat session, he or she gets a page hcl/live/chat/end.php with the following text displayed somewhere: "To e-mail yourself a copy of the transcript, please enter your e-mail address below." After entering the address and pressing submit there is a confirmation message: "A copy of the transcript has been sent to your e-mail address." And I would like to add: "Please check your spam folder if you haven't received your transcript" How can this be done? Thanks.

  I've successfully implemented form based authentication, and now I want to get the username and password to initialize session object in javamail from servlets. How can I do that? I can getlogin username by using method request.getRemoteUser(), but I don't know how to get the password. • Isn't fb_sig_friends supposed to be there?

  According to the docs, Facebook is supposed to send both fb_sig_canvas_user and fb_sig_friends for a canvas application. Sadly, I only get fb_sig_canvas_user and NOT fb_sig_friends. Is there anything I have to do to get this parameter? Or is there any other way to retrieve the friends of the visiting (not-yet-authorized) user, without the need of a session key (API throws exception with message "Requires user session")? And yes, _fb_fromhash is present in the request (coming to the canvas app. from a user's application tab).

  I'm writing a service (say, service.com) that provides a REST API to external apps running inside of IFrames. (These apps are hosted from domains outside the service.com). I'm planning a javascript client library for the apps to make pure-javascript requests to the service.com REST API -- basically using postMessage and some ad-hoc encapsulation of my API calls to get messages back and forth across frames (from the outside-app.com IFrame -- service.com REST API, and back to the IFrame with a response). My question: is there any robust, general-purpose javascript library to accomplish the kind of cross-domain REST request proxying I need, or should I just hack it from scratch?

I'm a bit concerned about that the user could place arbitrary strings in the url after the upload/ and this is directly mapped to the local filesystem. • Reported error code considered SQL Injection?

  SQL injection that actually runs a SQL command is one thing. But injecting data that doesn't actually run a harmful query but that might tell you something valuable about the database, is that considered SQL injection? Or is it just used as part to construct a valid SQL injection? An example could be set rs = conn.execute("select headline from pressReleases where categoryID = " & cdbl(request("id")) ) Passing this a string that could not be turned into a numeric value would cause Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d' Type mismatch: 'cdbl' which would tell you that the column in question only accepts numeric data and is thus probably of type integer or similar. I seem to find this in a lot of pages discussing SQL injection, but don't really get an answer if this in itself is considered SQL injection. The reason for my question is that I have a scanning tool that report a SQL injection vulnerability and reports a VBScript runtime error '800a000d' as the reason for the finding.

• Does Android support near real time push notification

  I recently learned about the ability of iPhone apps to receive nearly instantaneous notifications to apps. This is provided in the form of push notifications, a bespoke protocol which keeps an always on data connection to the iPhone and messages binary packets to the app, which pops up alerts incredibly quickly, between 0.5 - 5 seconds from server app send to phone app response time. This is sent as data - rather than SMS - in very very small packets charged as part of the data plan not as incoming messages. I would like to know if using Android there is either a similar facility, or whether it's possible to implement something close to this using Android APIs. To clarify I define similar as: Not an SMS message, but some data driven solution As real time as is possible Is scalable - ie: as the server part of a mobile app, I could notify thousands of app instances in seconds I appreciate the app could be pull based, HTTP request/response style, but ideally I don't want to to be polling that heavily just to check for notification .. besides which it's like drip draining the data plan.

• "Invalid signature": oAuth provider with Django-piston

  Hi, I'm working with django-piston to attempt to create an API that supports oAuth. I started out using the tutorial at: http://blog.carduner.net/2010/01/26/django-piston-and-oauth/ I added a consumer to piston's admin interface with key and secret both set to "abcd" for test purposes. The urls are successfully wired-up and the oAuth provider is called. However, running my get request token tests with tripit (python get_request_token.py "http://127.0.0.1:8000/api" abcd abcd), I receive the following error: Invalid signature. Expected signature base string: GET&http%3A%2F%2F127.0.0.1%3A8000%2Fapi%2Foauth%2Frequest_token%2F&oauth_consumer_key%3Dabcd%26oauth_nonce%3D0c0bdded5b1afb8eddf94f7ccc672658%26oauth_signature_method%3DHMAC-SHA1%26oauth_timestamp%3D1275135410%26oauth_version%3D1.0 The problem seems to lie inside the _check_signature method of Piston's oauth.py, where valid_sig = signature_method.check_signature(oauth_request, consumer, token, signature) is returning false. I can't, however, work out how to get the signature validated. Any ideas? -----Update----- If I remove the test consumer from piston's backend, the response returned is correctly set to "Invalid consumer", so this lookup appears to be working.

I'm writing an "Account" module which should take care of everything about accounts: registration, login/logout, user administration, password recovery, account activation, etc. So I thought it would be best to reuse whatever the module's DefaultController::actionRegister() generates to show on the main page. So my question is: how to create a new "sub request" (similar to CController::forward()) from any controller (either SiteController, read: from views/layouts/main.php, or another controller, eventually of another submodule) to a given module/controller/action? I've tried with $this-forward() from within my application layout without success: it shows a blank page, no error whatsoever. Thanks

• Django-allauth redirected to connections

  My Site's error log is filled with these errors:- This is an invalid script resource request. Invalid viewstate. Invalid character in a Base-64 string. Invalid length for a Base-64 char array. All these errors are appearing at least 100 times a day. After doing some RnD on internet i have done following things:- 1- define machine key in my web config. 2- created robots.txt file and add ScriptResource.axd file in that.   I using url to request remote urls that sometimes may very slow or just down. In this case, my php scripts still waiting for the response, it makes apache has to many requests stay in memory and then overload. I need a way to stop curl requesting or stop running php script when specified time passed. I'd tried declare(), it makes no sense for curl. Can someone know how to solve it? BTW: what is the effect of CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT and CURLOPT_TIMEOUT? They don't work like what I think.

• String of KML needs to be converted to java objects

  I have a string of kml coming in on a request object. I have used xjc to create the kml java objects. I am looking for an easy way to create the kml nested java objects from this string. I could parse the string and create each object in the tree by hand but wouldn't it be cool if there was a library or something that would create the java objects for me? Something like KmlType type = parseKML(mykmlStringFromTheRequest); Then type would be a Tree of kml objects. Thanks for the help all.
