How to configure MAVEN?

I am a newbie to maven and i gone through the configuration steps given in Apache site, but still i cant configure it. So anyone please help me with simple steps to configure MAVEN in windows. jQuery .load() XHTML issue

I am having some strange problems loading content from another XHTML page via jQuery. When the second page I try to load from is served as XHTML I get the below error. I don't know if it helps but both documents validate when I get the error. Uncaught Error: NO_MODIFICATION_ALLOWED_ERR: DOM Exception 7 Currently the header on the second page I load from is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <meta name="language" content="en" /> <title>some title</title>  </head> The content type is set as: application/xhtml+xml;charset=iso-8859-1 Interestingly, when I remove all the XHTML stuff from the header and stop setting the content type the error does not occur and everything works great. The load process currently looks like the below. It works fine when everything is plain HTML. $('#overpage').find(".wrap").load(this.getTrigger().attr("href")+" #op").show(); I'm curious why the process only does not work when the second page I load from is XHTML. I don't want to serve the page as just plain HTML and am looking for advice on what I am doing wrong. Both pages validate and I'm really scratching my head here. Many thanks!

How to compile a schema that uses a DataSet (xs:schema)?

I have created the simplest web service in c#: public void AddData(DataSet ds) The generated schema (Wsdl) looks like this: <s:schema xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> ... <s:element ref="s:schema" /> ... </s:schema> Note the schema does not contain any import/include elements. I am trying to load this schema to a c# System.Xml.XmlSchema and add it to System.Xml.XmlSchemaSet: var set = new XmlSchemaSet(); var fs = new FileStream(@"c:\temp\schema.xsd", FileMode.Open); var s = XmlSchema.Read(fs, null); set.Add(s); set.Compile(); The last line throws this exception: The 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema:schema' element is not declared. It kind of makes sense: The schema generated by .Net uses the "s:schema" type which is declared in a schema which is not imported. Why does .Net create a non valid schema? How to compile the schema anyway? Whay I did is download the schema in http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema and added it to the XmlSchemaSet also. This did not work since that online schema contains DTD definition. I had to manually remove it and now all works. Does this make sense or am I missing something?

What's the best way to validate an XML file (or a portion of it) against multiple XSD files? MS Ajax FilteredTextBox stopped working

Hi, I'm using Microsoft's AJAX library via their CDN. Everything was going fine in an old project. I then created a new project and copied and pasted some of the AJAX code hoping that it would work. However, my code isn't working and I've been struggling to figure out why. Designing a fluid Javascript interface to abstract away the asynchronous nature of AJAX

How would I design an API to hide the asynchronous nature of AJAX and HTTP requests, or basically delay it to provide a fluid interface. I am guessing that a well designed API like this should work like a query builder (think ORMs) where each function call builds the query (HTTP URL in this case), until it hits a looping function such as each/map/etc., the HTTP call is made and the passed in function becomes the callback. An easy development route would be to make each AJAX call synchronous, but that's probably not the best solution. I am interested in figuring out a way to make it asynchronous, and still hide the asynchronous nature of AJAX.

jQuery getJSON request returning empty on a valid request

I'm trying to grab some JSON from Apple's iTunes JSON service. The request is simple: http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsSearch?term=jac&limit=25 If you visit the URL in your browser you will see some well-formed (backed up by jsonlint.com) JSON. Problem sorting RSS feed by date using XSL

I'm creating a website where I need to show the top 5 records from an RSS feed, and these need to be sorted by date and time. The date fields in the RSS feed are in the following format: "Mon, 16 Feb 2009 16:02:44 GMT" I'm having big problems getting the records to sort correctly - I've tried lots of different code examples I've seen, but none seem to sort the records correctly. Sharepoint.OpenDocuments Control Compatible with Forms Authentication?

We are using the Sharepoint.OpenDocuments.EditDocument2 ActiveX control and method. The method is being called from JavaScript in an IE6 client on a Windows XP SP3 client (fully patched). The server is running IIS6 on Windows Server 2003 SP1 Fronting the IIS server is Tivoli Access Manager (TAM) which proxies access to the web applications sitting behind it. Similar to forms authentication, it creates a session cookie for authentication purposes, that must be present for the HTTP request to reach the IIS server. In front of TAM is an F5/BigIP load balancer and SSL encryption offloader, which enforces that incoming requests use the HTTPS protocol. What is happening is that HTTP requests issued by this control do not contain any session cookies that were present in the browser. It drops the ASP.NET session cookie, the ASP.NET forms authentication cookie and the TAM cookie Because the TAM cookie is missing the request is redirected to the TAM login page, which then shows up via HTML conversion in Word or Excel. The API documentation at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms440037.aspx mentions nothing about security or appropriate usage scenarios for this control. Should these controls work in an ASP.Net Forms Authentication scenario or are they only supported with Windows Authentication. If Forms Authentication is supposed to function, how do we get the control to include the necessary session cookies in its requests?

Python: fetching SVG file using urllib is returning binary when I need ASCII

Bypass all cacheing on jQuery.autocomplete(1.02)

I am using jQuery.autocomplete(1.02) on my search box and I want exact string and substring matching. I don't care (yet!) about the database load, I'm happy for it to fire off a query every keystroke and bypass the caching entirely - I just don't want anything missed. To this end I have tried setting cacheLength=1, the minimum permitted, but the autocomplete function refuses to fire off a GET request for each key up. searchbox GET_request 'a' -> http://localhost/service_search_request?q=a 'ar' -> http://localhost/service_search_request?q=ar 'ars' -> http://localhost/service_search_request?q=ars Instead, it sends the first and the third and misses the second, giving me the wrong results for 'ar' :-/ I've cleared my cache and sessions but it looks like some sort of caching is still going on. AFAIK I have no proxying going on and I'm shift-refreshing each time. It looks likely then that this behavior is from jQuery.autocomplete itself. So my questions are... A) Does this seem likely? i.e. is it a feature, or maybe a bug? B) If so is there a clean way around it?... C) If not, what autocomplete would you use instead? Naturally D) No you're just using it incorrectly you douche! is always a possibility, and indeed the one I'd prefer having spent time going down this road - assuming it comes with a link to the docs I've failed to find / read! How would the conversion of a custom CMS using a text-file-based database to Drupal be tackled?

Just today I've started using Drupal for a site I'm designing/developing. For my own site http://jwm-art.net I wrote a user-unfriendly CMS in PHP. My brief experience with Drupal is making me want to convert from the CMS I wrote. And it still required SSH access to copy the file to the main dat dir and to check I had actually remembered the format correctly and the code hadn't mis-formatted anything (which it always does). I don't want to drop all the old content (just some), but how much work would be involved in converting it, factoring into account I've been using Drupal for a day, have not written any PHP for a couple of years, and have zero knowledge of SQL? How might a team of developers tackle this? How do-able is it for one guy in his spare time?

WWW::Mechanize Perl login only works after relaunch

Hello, I'm trying to login automatically in a website using Perl WWW::Mechanize. What I do is: $bot = WWW::Mechanize->new(); $bot->cookie_jar( HTTP::Cookies->new( file => "cookies.txt", autosave => 1, ignore_discard => 1, ) ); $response = $bot->get( 'http://blah.foo/login' ); $bot->form_number(1); $bot->field( usern => 'user' ); $bot->field( pass => 'pass' ); $response =$bot->click(); print $response->content(); $response = $bot->get( 'http://blah.foo' ); print $response->content(); The login works, but when I load the page it tells me that I am not connected. You see that I store cookies in a file. Now if I relaunch the script without the login part, it says that I am connected... Does anyone understand this strange behaviour ?

What I think its doing is just loading the first chunk of data, then disconnecting. Am I doing this totally wrong or is there light at the end of this tunnel? Thanks!

Trouble parsing some RSS feeds using Java and Sax

I've written an RSS feed parser in Java (running on Android) and it parses some feeds perfectly, and others not at all. Linear Layout over relative layout

I have a relative layout for Camera preview with some overlay features. The menu options work fine but if I click on one of the options, the app just froze. It opens a debug perspective but I am not able to understand them. The app does not seem to crash but it just froze. Is ASP.NET MVC destined to replace Webforms?

If not please close this. I know that no one framework or language is necessarily the only tool for every job. But, do you see MVC eclipsing webforms or webforms going lower on the priority list for Microsoft? They will have to keep webforms for a long time because so many have invested in it, but they don't have to keep adding new functionality for it. I don't know if this is a good example, but it reminds me of web parts. I never saw much improvement in it from Microsoft. It works and I thought it was great until I started to really try and get a lot out of it. Then from what I could see it just wasn't being pursued by Microsoft that much, though it stayed in Visual Studio. Maybe that's a bad example; just what I remembered. EDIT: Also, if anyone has any statements from Microsoft on this subject it is appreciated. No offense to anyone. I was only hoping for something official.

RESTful WCF Data Service Authentication

Hi, I'd like to implement a REST api to an existing ASP.NET MVC website. I've managed to set up WCF Data services so that I can browse my data, but now the question is how to handle authentication. Right now the data service is secured via the site's built in forms authentication, and that's ok when accessing the service from AJAX forms. However, It's not ideal for a RESTful api. What I would like as an alternative to forms authentication is for the users to simply embed the user name and password into the url to the web service or as request parameters. For example, if my web service is usually accessible as http://localhost:1234/api.svc I'd like to be able to access it using the url http://localhost:1234/api.svc/{login}/{password} So, my questions are as follows: Is this a sane approach? If yes, how can I implement this? It seems trivial redirecting GET requests so that the login and password are attached as GET parameters. I also know how to inspect the http context and use those parameters to filter the results. But I am not sure if / how the same approach could be applied to POST, PUT and DELETE requests. How do I pass a cookie to a Sinatra app using curl?

I'm using the code from the example titled "A Slightly Bigger Example" from this tutorial http://rubylearning.com/blog/2009/09/30/cookie-based-sessions-in-sinatra/ to figure out how to send a cookie to a Sinatra application but I can't figure out how to set the values correctly When I set the name to be "brandon" in the application it creates a cookie with a value of BAh7BiIJdXNlciIMYnJhbmRvbg%3D%3D%0A which is a url encoding (http://ostermiller.org/calc/encode.html) of the value BAh7BiIJdXNlciIMYnJhbmRvbg== Using that value I can send a cookie to the app correctly curl -b "rack.session=BAh7BiIJdXNlciIMYnJhbmRvbg==" localhost:9393 I'm pretty sure that value is a base64 encoding of the ruby hash for the session since the docs (http://rack.rubyforge.org/doc/classes/Rack/Session/Cookie.html) say The session is a Ruby Hash stored as base64 encoded marshalled data set to :key (default: rack.session). I thought that meant all I had to do was base64 encode {"user"=>"brandon"} and use it in the curl command. Unfortunately that creates a different value than BAh7BiIJdXNlciIMYnJhbmRvbg==. Next I tried taking the base64 encoded value and decoding it at various base64 decoders online but that results in strange characters (a box symbol and others) so I don't know how to recreate the value to even encode it. So my question is do you know what characters/format I need to get the proper base64 encoding and/or do you know of another way to pass a value using curl such that it will register as a proper cookie for a Sinatra app?

This two images (the button background and the linearlayout background) are overlapping. So in some views, the button background is in front of the layout background and in other views (im using a view flipper), the background of the layer is in the foreground. How can i set a clear rule? How does Android decide which BackgroundResource to draw first?
