• Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1). error CS0030: Cannot convert type 'Type[]' to 'Type'?

  I get this error after I created a class from my xsd file using the xsd.exe tool. So I searched the net and found a solution. Here is the link: http://satov.blogspot.com/2006/12/xsdexe-generated-classes-causing.html Problem is that this makes the code run, but somehow the deserialized data seems corrupt. I did what the site suggests and in the end the 2nd array dimension is always empty (see the comments of the site, somebody also had this problem). Question is, how do I solve this issue now? Is there another tool to create the xsd file? I tried Xsd2Code, without success. Thanks :-)

• C Different answers for a variable when running 'Debug' and 'Start without debug'

  I keep getting this weird output from my code everytime I use the 'start without degugging' (ctrl-F5) as opposed to normal 'debug' (F5).   Hello, I am trying to figure out the SQL for doing some relatively simple operations on sets of records in a table but I am stuck. Consider a table with multiple rows per item, all identified by a common key. For example: serial model color XX1 A blue XX2 A blue XX3 A green XX5 B red XX6 B blue XX1 B blue What I would for example want to do is: Assuming that all model A rows must have the same color, find the rows which dont. (for example, XX3 is green). Assuming that a given serial number can only point to a single type of model, find out the rows which that does not occur (for example XX1 points both to A and B) These are all simple logically things to do. To abstract it, I want to know how to group things by using a single key (or combination of keys) and then compare the values of those records. Should I use a join on the same table? should i use some sort of array or similar? thanks for your help

• jQuery .html() vs .text() produce different result in .hover() function

If I use .text() fuction to add the html (anchor tag) which I am dynamically creating, it works fine, both the functions are called as desired. • PHP: reusing database class

  Hi, I built a class that allows me to do: $db->query($query); and it works perfectly, although if I want to do: $db->query($query); while($row = $db->fetch_assoc()){ $db->query($anotherquery); echo $db->result(); } it "breaks" the class. I don't want to constantly have to redeclare my class (eg: $seconddb = new database()), is there a way to get around this? I want to be able to reuse $db within $db, without overwriting the "outside" db. currently I'm create an array of data (from db-fetch_assoc() then doing a foreach and then doing the db call inside that: $db->query('SELECT * FROM table'); while($row = $db->fetch_assoc()){ $arr[] = $row; } foreach($arr as $a){ $db->query(); // query and processing here } Is this the best method or am I missing the obvious? Should I consider passing a connection link ID with the database connection?

  From what I can see, CakePHP makes it easy to link to a CSS file in a view with the following: echo $html->css('my-css-filename',null,array(),FALSE); But what if I don't want to exclusively use hardcoded files? How can I get it to create a style tag with some dynamically generated rules in e.g. <style type="text/css" media="all">p {font-size:1.5em}</style> I am trying to do this in a view file, I'd like the CSS to be placed in the head tag, and I'm using CakePHP 1.2.7

  I have an array of divs and I want to iterate over each div and pass it to sparklines. like so: var divs = $("#wrapper>div"); var data = ["1:2:3:4", "4:3:2:3:1"]; var i; for(i = 0; i<data.length; i++){ divs[i].sparkline(data[i]); } I get the error "divs[i].sparkline" is not a function. But if I do this divs.sparkline([1,2,3,4]); its fine all the divs get the linegraph but with the same data. Does anyone have any suggestions but how to use sparkline when iterating over divs? • Slide Effect happening too many times

  Hello all, I call this functions on onmouseover and onmouseout for several divs. //Takes effect on divs with id, 62,63,64,65... function slide_it(id){ $('#options_'+id).slideToggle('slow'); } The problem is that if I move my mouse over and then mouse out, then again, mouse over and then mouse out. If I do this several times, the slide effect happens the same number of times I moved my mouse over and out of the div, as expected. But I can't figure out how I can do this once? I can set a variable, but I have several divs that this function is used by and I can't think of a simple way of doing this rather than storing things into an array, but this is messy! I really appreciate any help on this that is simple to implement! Thanks all for any help

  i am struggling with the paginator in cakephp 2.0. While i am trying to migrate my application to 2.0 i cant find any solution to jump directly to the last page. In 1.3 it was quiet to do that from outside like this: echo $this->Html->link(__('Flights'), array('controller' => 'flights', 'action' => 'index','page' => 'last')); but this little trick putting 'page:last' in does not work anymore in 2.0. Of course there is a Paginator function called last, but this would only help if i would be already inside the app. My Problem is to access from an outside link directly the last page of the paginator.   OK, I have a set of tables that I want to use for my user logins. I am guessing that I need a separate model for each table in the database. My tables are as follows: Users - user information such as first and last name, groups_id, status, etc... groups - defines the user groups with id, name, description permissions - defines a list of permissions that a group can have permission_assignments - groups_id and permissions_id. many to many relationship table I am not sure how to go about populating an array that would contain the list of permissions that a user would have based on the group they are in after a successful login. Basically, a user belongs to a group, and the group gets assigned permissions. I want to then be able to validate functions/methods based on weather the logged in user has certain permissions. Any help is appreciated

  I need to build a function, which return all paths between certain nodes. connect :: Int -> Int-> [[(Int,Int)]] Data.Graph library gives me usefull function 'buildG' which builds graph for me. If I call let g = buildG (1,5) [(1,2),(2,3),(3,4),(4,5),(2,5)], I will get an array where every node is mapped to his neighbours.   I am building a simple particle system and want to use a single array buffer of structs to manage my particles. That said, I can't find a C function that allows me to malloc() and free() from an arbitrary buffer. Here is some pseudocode to show my intent: Particle* particles = (Particle*) malloc( sizeof(Particle) * numParticles ); Particle* firstParticle = <buffer_alloc>( particles ); initialize_particle( firstParticle ); // ... Some more stuff if (firstParticle->life < 0) <buffer_free>( firstParticle ); // @ program's end free(particles); Where <buffer_alloc> and <buffer_free> are functions that allocate and free memory chunks from arbitrary pointers (possibly with additional metadata such as buffer length, etc.). Do such functions exist and/or is there a better way to do this? Thank you!

When a new user registers a new account, he/she has to fill in email, password and confirmPassword fields. Obviously, password and confirmPassword fields must match. • What's the difference between FireBug's conole.log() and console.debug() ?

  A very simple code to illustrate the difference. var x = [0, 3, 1, 2]; console.debug('debug', x); console.log('log', x); // above display the same result x.splice(1, 2); // below display kind of a different result console.debug('debug', x); console.log('log', x); The javascript value is exactly the same but console.log() displays it a bit differently than before applying splice() method. Because of this I lost quite a few hours as I thought splice is acting funny making my array multidimensional or something. I just want to know why does this work like that. Does anyone know? :)
