  I'm new to mysql, I'm trying to run Wordpress inmy windows desktop and it need Mysql. I install everything with Web Platform Installer which provided by microsoft. I never seta root password for mysql and in final step of installing wordpressit askfor root password of mysql. What is the default password for root (if there is one) and how to change it? I try mysql -u root password '123' but it show me Access denied for user 'root@localhost' (using password:NO) after this I try mysql -u root -p but it ask for a password which I don't have Thank you in advance

• Read Call History from iPhone on iOS 5 and above

  I am developing an application and need to read the users call history from iPhone.I have go though all the forums and google it and found that we can get the records from teh callHistory sqlite database by "private/var/root/Library/CallHistory/call_history.db". But this path is not working from iOS 5 and above. Seems like apple has changed all their database path and structure so that no one can accees it. I have also seen some of the application on iTunes who are capable of getting the users call history like:-https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/callog/id327883585?mt=8 I have also check a mac desktop utility called "WonderShare Dr.Fone" which will fetch all the data from your iPhone like call history messages, notes , etc.How this utility is fetching the call history records and other details? If their is any API or private APIs by which i can get the callHistory data path please let me know.

• 20GB+ worth of emails in my /home what is a better solution for that?

  My email storage requirements are outgrowing anything reasonable with respect to local mail storage. As we speak 99% of my home partition is filled with personal mail in Thunderbirds mail dirs. Needless to say, this is just painful, badly searchable and as history has proven me that backups work, but Thunderbird is capable of loosing a lot of mail very easily. Currently I have an remote IMAPS server (Dovecot) running for my daily mail, accessible from anywhere, which from my own practice works efficiently up to about 1000 emails. Then some archive directories should be used to move mail around. I have been looking into DBMail, but I wonder if I make my case worse or better which such solution. None of the supported database employ string deduplication or string compression out of the box, so is this going to help me with 20GB+ mail? What about falling back to a plain old IMAP server? A filesystem like ZFS would support stuff like GZIP transparently, which could help. Could someone share their thoughts? The 20GB mostly consists of mailinglists, and normal mail. Not things like attachments. To add some clarifications; As we speak, my mail is not server side indexed at all - only my new mail arrives at a remote IMAP server. It is all local storage from former POP3 accounts, local mirrored Gmail and IMAP accounts. In my perspective it is not Thunderbird that sucks, its fileformat that sucks. Regarding the 1000 mails. On the road I am using Alpine and MobileMail, quite happy with both of them, but some management is required to actually manage the mail. Sieve helps a lot with that, but browing through 10.000 e-mails is not fun, especially not on a mobile client. I am quite happy with Dovecot, never had any issues with it. I just wonder if this is the way to go. Or if there are any other better solutions. What my question is: what is the best practice solution that allows 20GB+ mails and is -on demand remotely accessible, easy to backup and archive worthy. It doesn't need to be available 24x7. • How do i view the local database version in safari on the iphone?

  I am trying to see the localDatabase version from my iPhone in safari but it is not displaying, according to the docs i am supposed to be able to do this: var db = openDatabase('dbShortName', '', 'dbLongName', 1000); alert(db.version); and it should alert the current version number. It does not. It works in Chrome and safari for the desktop but not the iPhone. Does anybody have some idea why? My next option is to store the version in a separate table, but I would prefer to use the built in system. Thanks in advance.

• Will html5 and Javascript replace native applications?

  I recently attended a conference on future of the web and web development and it was a lot of focus on HTML5 and how it will impact the way we look at the web and how we will use it. The majority of the speakers meant that it will replace native application on your desktop as well as in your mobile phone. I agree that you will be able to make a lot of great stuff with the new technology take bespin for example and the <video> and <canvas> tag will be amazing, but will it completely remove the need for native applications? Is there something you cannot do with Javascript and HTML5?

  Background I am currently working on the final QA of a responsive website and I'm having an issue with IE 8 and IE 7. My client deals with government contracting so their website needs to be compatible with IE 8 and IE 7. I am using Modernizr with html5shiv built in. I am loading Modernizr in the footer of a WordPress theme that was custom built for this project. I'm not missing a doctype or any other obvious code. • Text to a PNG on App Engine (Python)

  Note: I am cross-posting this from App Engine group because I got no answers there. As part of my site about Japan, I have a feature where the user can get a large PNG for use as desktop background that shows the user's name in Japanese. After switching my site hosting entirely to App Engine, I removed this particular feature because I could not find any way to render text to a PNG using the image API. In other words, how would you go about outputting an unicode string on top of an image of known dimensions (1024x768 for example), so that the text will be as large as possible horizontally, and centered vertically? Is there a way to do this is App Engine, or is there some external service besides App Engine that could make this easier for me, that you could recommend (besides running ImageMagick on your own server)?

  Hello all, I'm new to SSL connections so here goes my question. I have a desktop Java program in a JAR file. This JAR sends sensitive information over the internet to a remote Tomcat server. Of course I need to encrypt the data. If I purchase an SSL cerfiticate say from Verisign, will the data sent over SSL be automatically encrypted? I mean in my JAR, will I still need to do extra work like use Java encryption extensions API to manually encrypt my data over the SSL connection? Thank you.

The tool must be very easy to use and it has to generate a mobile version as well as a desktop version of the slideshow. (I'll spare you the rest of the specs.)   I want to draw a line with thickness in j2me. This can easily be achieved in desktop java by setting Pen width as thickness value. However in j2me, Pen class does not support width. My idea is to generate a polygon from the line I have, that resembles the line with thickness i want to draw. In picture, on the left is what I have, a line with points. • Live Mesh has screwed up my file permissions

  I got the bright idea of using Live Mesh to sync up my development directories between my laptop and desktop machines. It appears that the permission on any new files that are added through Live Mesh do not inherit permissions from the parent directory. Now I cannot overwrite the permissions on those files. I keep getting an "Access is Denied" error when attempting to do so, even if I am running Windows Explorer as administrator. I have two questions: How can I modify the file permissions to allow them to inherit again? Has anyone used Live Mesh to do this sort of thing? Or should I be using FolderShare instead?

  I'm currently using the magento admin interface, trying to upload an image in the "manage products" and I get the error "file was not uploaded" after I browse the file and click "upload file". I've looked on other forums and the main solution I saw were to make sure that php.ini has the following lines... magic_quotes_gpc = off short_open_tag = on extension=pdo.so extension=pdo_mysql.so I have Windows/IIS with ISAPI_Rewrite. Is there a max file upload size that I can change somewhere. I'm uploading pictures from my local desktop of size ~100kb. help!

• Ignoring all line feeds in a FreeMarker template

  I'm trying out FreeMarker, not for a web application but to generate text within a desktop application. I'd like to get the text without any linefeeds, however it always appends a linefeed. For example, this would produce "blah blah\n" <#if docType=1> blah blah <#if docType=2> more blah <#/if> Any ideas? Bunching it all into one line works, but is horrible. Thanks.

• Windows Service Printing Behaviour

  Alright, I was tasked to develop a Windows Service that listens to a directory for files that are dropped in it, read them, delete them and print out a report. I installed the service on my work laptop (Win 7 x86) and a test machine (XP x86) under a User account at first. It would do everything as it should except the print the report. No errors, nothing. Then I made it run under Local System and it produced a "No printers found" exception. Converting the app to a Console Application and running on these machines gave the desired result. OK, so now I was assuming that there are security "stuff" involved. Then I installed the service on a Server 2008 x64 machine (under Local System) and it just worked. Can anybody explain to me why this is happening? Why does the service allow printing from Server OS but not from a Desktop OS or am I missing something very obvious?

• VirtualBox: How to connect to Internet via wi-fi on Mac?

  I installed VirtualBox with a Win XP VM on my Mac running OS 10.7.5. My Mac only has a wi-fi connection to the internet. On the settings for the virtual host, I set: Attached to: Bridged Adapter Name: en1: Wi-Fi (AirPort) Adapter Type: Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM) Promiscuous Mode: Deny Mac Address: Cable Connected: true Those are the settings I see around the internet as being correct, but I still can't ping anything. On my Mac I have internet sharing via Ethernet enabled (not sure if that matters). When I start up my WinXP VM, it asks me to install a bunch of hardware which I don't have any drivers to. Do I need to install any ethernet card drivers in order for the internet to work? Thank you!!

• Sql Server Compact Edition 3.5: Does the data persist in the database file?

  Hi guys, I have this question in which I have a SQL Server Compact Edition database for a desktop application. I am completely new to Sql Server Compact Edition. The question is, does the data inserted in the database persist even if the application is shut down or restarted? Coz I cant seem to find my data when using Sql Server Management Studio to manage the database. Am I missing anything/something? EDIT: Is SQL Server Compact Edition used for caching local data only? We cant use it like what we normally do on Sql Server Express for example managing data using Sql Server Management Studio?
