• How to compile all source files (default make target does not compile all of them)

  Hi, when I compile android (http://source.android.com/download) it does not compile some source files. For example there is external/bluetooth/bluez/sbc/sbc.c which is not compiled. There are also other such files. It's possible those files need not to be compiled. Or it might be that I need some special configuration to compile them. Either way, if it is possible, I'd like to compile them. Is there some way to do it? Maybe some "compile_all" make target? (I believe the reason why I want to compile all source files is not important)

  I am working on a http based (NOT Secure) Web Application. In this, I have provided a provision to add some appointment to the Client's outlook calendar. I am creating the .vcs file dynamically when clicked on a hyperlink. The code of generating .VCS file is: string calendarFormat = GetVCSFormat(); Response.ContentType = "text/calendar"; Response.AppendHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=MyCalendar.vcs"); Response.Write(calendarFormat); Response.End(); It is working fine in all browsers except IE. It is giving me following error: Internet Explorer cannot download GenerateAppointment.aspx from server. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. Can anyone focus some light on it?

  How does the Same Origin Policy apply to the following two domains? http://server1.MyDomain.com http://server2.MyDomain.com Can I run JS on a page hosted on server1, if the content is retreived from server2? edit according to Daniel's answer below, I can include scripts between different subdomains using the <script> tag, but what about asynchronous requests? What if I download a script from server2 onto the page hosted on server1. Can I use the script to communicate asynchronously with a service on server2?

  I would like to know if there is a website where I could download the Apache POI ported for .net? I already found this link in the web http://www.apache.org/~avik/dist/poi-2.5.1-dev-20040708.dll But the version of apache poi now is 3.6, I was wondering if there is a latest version out there? Does the apache foundation support such porting? I already tried to search the apache website too with no avail. As for using Microsoft library, the excel interopt is not that good for concurrent processing like a web backend. If I use the DocumentFormat.OpenXML library, I have a limitation of creating office 2007 document only.

These tools are great but they are still no best practices attached to their usage, so I don't know what is the most efficient way to use them. Do you use pip bundles or always download? Do you set up Apache/Cherokee/MySQL by hand or do you have a script for than. Do you put everything in virtual_env and use --no-site-package? Do you use one virtual_env for several projects? What do you use Fabric for (which part of your deployment do you script)? Do you put your Fabric scripts in on the client or the server? How do you handle database and media file migration? Do you even need a build tool such as SCons? What are the steps of your deployment? How often do you perform each of them? etc.

• Avoid XmlDocument validating namespaces in C#

  Hello, I'm trying to find a way of indenting a HTML file, I've been using XMLDocument and just using a XmlTextWriter. However I am unable to format it correctly for HTML documents because it checks the doctype and tries to download it. Is there a "dumb" indenting mechanism that doesnt validate or check the document and does a best effort indentation? The files are 4-10Mb in size and they are autogenerated, we have to handle it internal - its fine, the user can wait, I just want to avoid forking to a new process etc. Essentially, right now I use a MemoryStream, XmlTextWriter and XmlDocument, once indented I read it back from the MemoryStream and return it as a string. Failures happen for XHTML documents and some HTML 4 documents because its trying to grab the dtds. I tried setting XmlResolver as null but to no avail :(

• Transfer file using BITS without using IIS on one end?

  I know that I can transfer files using BITS and a wrapper like SharpBITS, but it seems that I need an IIS server on one end - either to upload to or download from. Is there a way to use the BITS protocol to transfer a file without requiring IIS? Some kind of a "BITS Server" or "Listener" project that my client's BITS service can connect to. I'm looking for functionality that's exactly what BITS provides, but I'd prefer not to require that IIS be installed (though if I have to, I can). Thanks!

  Hello All I would like to develop such iphone application that provides functionality to download viedo. i am doing some as below 1) Loading HTML content on web view 2) The loaded html content contains the video link (i.e http://test.com/test.mp4") 3) When i click on that it will play the video in native player. 4) but i would like to prevent this thing and start downloading video from that URL for example, if i click on link it should not open native video player, it should start downloading from that url and store somewhere on iphone (i.e document directory) is there any solution for same? • Visual studio 2008/2010 dilemma

  We have a project which is being developed by a 3rd party. They are using LINQ and .NET 3.5 with Visual Studio 2008. We are currently at 2005 with .NET 2. Once they have delivered the code to us, we are unsure as to whether we will be able to compile/build their code using our current Visual Studio toolkit. I know we can download .NET 3.5, but unsure as to whether we will have problems with Visual Studio. So we are considering to upgrade. But since Visual Studio 2010 is soon to be released do we wait for that or upgrade to 2008?

  I need to upload an image to a remote PHP server which expects the following parameters in HTTPPOST: *$_POST['title']* *$_POST['caption']* *$_FILES['fileatt']* Most of the internet searches suggested either : Download the following classes and trying MultiPartEntity to send the request: apache-mime4j-0.5.jar httpclient-4.0-beta2.jar httpcore-4.0-beta3.jar httpmime-4.0-beta2.jar OR Use URLconnection and handle multipart data myself. Btw, I am keen on using HttpClient class rather than java.net(or is it android.net) classes. Eventually, I downloaded the Multipart classes from the Android source code and used them in my project instead. Though this can be done by any of the above mentioned methods, I'd like to make sure if these are the only ways to achieve the said objective. I skimmed through the documentation and found a FileEntity class but I could not get it to work. What is the correct way to get this done in an Android application? Thanks.

• Elmah is only logging 15 Errors

  Hi, I've just starting looking at a site in place at work. They're using Elmah to log errors. It seems to be logging fine, but in the web interface, when I tell Elmah to show me 100 errors per page, it only shows the most recent 15. Then when I click on "Download Log" I only get shown 15 errors in the CSV. Anyone know how I can configure it to keep all the errors? Or can someone point me to some docs on how to do this?   Hi, I am looking for a easy to use and deploy sql type database i can ship with a desktop application. This will be a small application user's can download from my website. In the vb6 days, access was the common database for small desktop apps, what is my option these days? Looking at SQL CE it seems to have a quite a few limitations such as count(distinct) etc SQL express needs to be installed and running as a service (could i include the SQL express deployments in my deployment so the user doesn't even know its been installed? I assume size would then be an issue) SQL 2005/2008 is not an option due to size and licensing restrictions. I would like to use c#, wpf and entity framework. What would seem to be the best options based on your knowledge and experience? Thanks

  I'm trying to install Microsoft Visual C# Express 2010 Beta 2 on my machine but it's not working. It blazes through what should be a 150 MB download then fails installing the very first item after about 5 seconds. I had VS 2010 Beta 1 installed but removed it beforehand.   Hello, I'm currently getting to know Java and OSGi, so I've read a few books. In one particular book the class loading is described. You can download it (free and legal) from the authors page (Neil Bartlett): OSGi Book On page 9 and 10 are this pictures: It seems like there is the possibility that our class "Foo" won't use the class "Bar" of foobar.jar, but instead class "Bar" from naughty.jar. Because of the flat and global structure of the Java classpath this could be, but as far as I know you would define a package from where you want to import a certain class: import foobar.Bar This should prevent loading the wrong class, shouldn't it? Of course assuming that the package is called "foobar".

• I want to port my delicious bookmarks to my website

  I started building a app that will automatically download my delicious bookmarks, and save to a database, so they I can view them on my own website in my favoured format. I am forced to use oAuth, as I have a yahoo id to login to delicious. The problem is I am stuck at the point where oAuth requires a user to manually go and authenticate. Is there a code/ guidelines available anywhere I can follow? All I want is a way to automatically save my bookmarks to my database. Any help is appreciated. I can work on java, .net and php. Thanks.

• Parse error when trying to install app on Asus eee PC 701 running Android 2.0

  A beta tester of mine has a Asus eee pc 701 running Android 2.0 and he is trying to install an app on it from my web site. He is able to download the app but is getting a "Parse Error: There is a problem parsing the package" error. I don't really know if this problem is with the eee pc or with the apk since he is the first person to try to install it. I built it for 2.0, the manifest has 5 as the minimum API level and I used Eclipse to export and sign it. But this is my first Android app and he is the first to try to install it, so I am not sure what the problem might be? Could just be the Android implementation too. • Catching an exception when trying to launch a URL service from within Safari on an iPhone

  Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows - if I have an iPhone app that is registered with a URL service (e.g. alocola://), which means another app can invoke it by calling its URL - is there any way to embed this URL in an HTML page, and catch the exception if the app is not installed on the user's iPhone? Or in other words / more details: I would like to write an app that conforms to some URL invocation (like alocola:// is doing), but would like this app to be launched from a web page read by mobile Safari. However, if the app is not installed on the user's iphone, I would like to be able to display a note saying "you must have the alocola app installed on your iPhone, please download it from the app store by clicking here". Is there a way (perhaps using javascript) to have Safari indicate that the URL cannot be invoked, and catch this in order to display an intelligent message? Thanks :-) Ariel

While it (mostly) works, I am trying to improve my programming skills and would appreciate it if members of the community could look at what we've put together.   In Windows 2003 it was simple to do and one could use the winhttpcertcfg.exe (download) to give "NETWORK SERVICE" account access to a certificate. I'm now using Windows Server 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5 and I am unable to find where and how to set permissions access permissions to a certificate in the certificate store. This Post showed how to do it in Vista and that winhttpcertcfg features were added into the certificates mmc however it doesn't seem to work with imported certificates or doesn't work anymore on Server 2008 R2. So does anyone have any idea on how give IIS 7.5 the correct permissions to read a certificate from the certificate store? And also what account from IIS 7.5 that needs the permission.

• using Excel VBA, given the daily price of 50 stocks, choose 10 stocks such that they have the minumu

  The high-level goal is to choose 10 stocks that have the lowest correlation among one another, out of a pool of 50, so that I can have a well-diversified portfolio. I have managed to write some VBA macro to download the past 3 years of daily price data from Yahoo finance, and then compute the 50x50 correlation matrix (using the Correl function), using the daily close as the data. What I have tried so far is just some local-maximum heuristic: - For the two stocks that have the highest correlation with each other, remove one of them. Between the two, remove the one that has the higher average correlation with all the other stocks. - When I remove a stock from the pool, I just delete the correponding row and column, to give a smaller matrix. - Repeat until I have just 10 stocks remaining (a 10x10 matrix). I was wondering if there is some algorithm that already solves such a problem and gives the optimum solution?

  I updated to the version 3.0.0.3. Dragged the new ActiveRecord directory in VS08, and added the newer dll. I'm not sure whats going on yet. When I try to compile the project I get that error. My SVN server just lost my old version, so I'll have to download the older Subsonic version and see if that fixes the problem. I have no clue what I did wrong in the configuration as I updated to 3.0.0.3. (still a new users so I couldn't post a photo, but here a link to the error) link text

  Who has their email fully encrypted ? I would like to encrypt my email but I am not sure how to start. If I use encrypted email and I send an email to someone who does not encrypt his email how can the receiver read the email ? What email client would you recommend to run on a windows systems for encrypted email ? I am using Thunderbird at the moment. As I understand you have to generate 2 keys (one public and one private) but how do you generate this key? I also think that you have to put your key somewhere to download but I don't understand how you can trust the downloaded keys. • Umbraco or ASP.NET MVC

  I'm about to create a site that will act as public front site of company that sells furniture, but after user log in, he'll see much more options. Internal news, files to download, customized pricings, newsletters, etc. - stuff for wholesale clients. I want to make it quickly and maintain/extend it easily. I'm asp.net developer and while I could write it in python, php, whatever else (I know these too), I still prefer asp.net. I was thinking about umbraco, since it gives a real productivity boost and that I familiar with it ( and extending it). I've had a short romance with ASP.NET MVC, so I know what it's all about, but I would still spend some time learning it (but what a fun!). Of course, there's also webforms, but that's my last choice here. Last but not least to mention is the SEO. The question is, have anyone of you had similiar dilemma and what was your final choice?
