• iMX31 dependencies?

  Dear all I am beginner in an silverlight application. So at first i looked on demo application which is provided by wince 6.0 r3 at location WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\DEMOS\XAMLPERF - this contains c++ code and WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\FILES\XAMLPERF - this contains xaml file with the images Now before running this application in an emulator. I at first proceeded with the following: I have first taken my workspace went to catalog item and added "Silverlight for Windows Embedded" from the drop down menu of an catalog item Then right clicked on solution explorer and choosed on properties and under configuration in drop down menu i have selected environment variables where i have added new variable called "sysgen_samplexamlperf" and assigned value as 1 for that variable. Now after rebuiding the application, i have dumped the image into emulator and i found that at desktop of device emulator i can see the exe file to which i run and i can see the application is working fine with 3d effects. Now same thing i proceeded in iMX31 hardware and i was not able to see the application running in a proper manner as it was performing in an emulator. So now what i feel is that there be any dependency when we run the application on hardware. So what can be the dependency? Also in this location "WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\FILES\XAMLPERF" the images are in png format. So is there any dependency with an image format? Thanks and regards

  I'm building a Windows 8 Metro app (aka "Modern UI Style" or "Windows Store app") in HTML5/JavaScript consuming JSON Web Services and I'm bumping into the following issue: in which format should my JSON Web Services serialize dates for the Windows 8 Metro JSON.parse method to deserialize those in a date type? I tried: sending dates using the ISO-8601 format, (JSON.parse returns a string), sending dates such as "/Date(1198908717056)/" as explained here (same result). I'm starting to doubt that Windows 8's JSON.parse method supports dates as even when parsing the output of its own JSON.stringify method does not return a date type. • Google Maps Controls panel size is displayed wrong

  I have a weird problem with Google Maps Control. I've tested in a blank page my custom maps with custom markers and everything seems to be ok, also with the control panel. When I tried to import all my code in the page I'm working with ( I use a full screen fluid grid system ) the control panel is displayed with strange size. I tried everything for disable/enable the ui of the Google Maps but the problem remain. The code of my maps are exactly the same, both in my blank page and in my site, but in the site the ui control panel is displayed very strange. • IE8: weird border around HTML button element

  I have a button element with a custom background (image+color) and no borders except for a 2px border-bottom (and a bunch of other properties --code below) which renders quite differently in Firefox and in IE8. The problem is, this is a work for a company that uses IE8 as their only browser, so it's important that the button renders well in IE8. Here's a visual comparison between the two: My question here is not about the padding difference (I'm looking into that), but about the weird border that is visible on IE8 in addition to the regular border (border-bottom). Can anyone explain to me where it comes from and how to get rid of it? Thanks in advance.   I am devloping smart device application in C#. In this application I have some images in my application which I used to dispay on emulator from my application. To display the images on emulator I need to create the one folder of images which resides on the emulator. Only after that I am able to display the images in emulator. I am able to create the folder in emulator by using File-Configure-General-Shared Folder. For sharing the folder I am giving the path of the folder which contains the images. Once I share the folder the folder of images which resides in my application will get copied in emulator with the name "Storage Card". Now I need to use the path as Bitmap bmp=new Bitmap(@"/Storage Card/ImageName.jpg"); Now I am able to display the images in emulator. Can we display the images in the emulator without any image folder which resides on emultor (so that we dont need to place the image folder in emulator as in the above case by sharing the folder) ? If the answere is no then to run the application on different mobile devices we need to place the folder which contains the images on different mobile devices. Isnt it? If the answere is yes then how we can display the images on different mobile device from our application without placing any folder of images on mobile devices?

The code works fine but when I access the server via browser, the image is not displayed. The html of the page is as intended though. The permissions on the files are 755. Also I tried to create an index.html file in the do_GET method. That didn't work either. I mean the index.html was generated fine, but the response in the browser this time did not show anything (not even the hello world in the title). Am I missing anything very simple here? I was thinking should I overload the handle_request of the underlying SocketServer.BaseServer as the documentation says you should never override BaseHTTPServer's handle() method and should rather override the corresponding do_* method?

So Usinf FloodFill i got the result like below image, If i press on the hand, then only hand portion will fill with color, instead of it i want to fill color to the other hand and face also. So Please help me in this case. EDITED After some reply i got the solution like this one. But still there is a memory issue. It consume lots of memory to draw the color. So please can anyone help me for it ?

• Tiny MCE (jquery plugin version) not showing toolbar in IE (works fine in other browsers)

  I had an implementation working well but for some reason IE decided it was tired of playing nice. I have an advanced implementation of TinyMCE (the jquery plugin version - see http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/examples/example_23.php for details). It still works great in all browsers but IE. In IE it shows the drop-down options for Format, Font family, and Font size, but only as text.. not as a drop down normally looks. All other buttons on the toolbar are missing. (I've tried IE8 and IE8 Compatibility Mode) I get a javascript error: Syntax error Line 36 Char 1. Unfortunately the javascript is being loaded dynamically so this doesn't help me. • Why does C++ allow variable length arrays that aren't dynamically allocated?

  I'm relatively new to C++, and from the beginning it's been drilled into me that you can't do something like int x; cin >> x; int array[x]; Instead, you must use dynamic memory. However, I recently discovered that the above will compile (though I get a -pedantic warning saying it's forbidden by ISO C++). I know that it's obviously a bad idea to do it if it's not allowed by the standard, but I previously didn't even know this was possible. My question is, why does g++ allow variable length arrays that aren't dynamically allocated if it's not allowed by the standard? Also, if it's possible for the compiler to do it, why isn't it in the standard?

• Panel in Windows Forms Application not clearing

  I'm working on my project: [Beer Pong Management System][1], a Windows Forms application. I am currently trying to add a whole tournament mode to it. In a nutshell, I've created a TabControl, with the first tab page with the settings and setup and the second page the brackets. There is a feature for each of the match-ups, that once there is a winner is decided, a yellow cancel button will appear in order to revert the tournament. However my issue is when i click the button the next match-up does not get removed in the series is going. See below: Image Here(not high enough rep to insert image) I have tried to set the MatchUp to null, I've tried dispose(), close(). even Parent.Controls.Remove(). Even after I switch tabs which is supposed to clear all, they still sit there when i come back. I have a feeling I might be loosing a reference or something because I can't even push new teams into them, they just sit there with their buttons. • I tried installing Ubuntu 10.04 and I got this message - any ideas on what to do?

  No root file system defined. Please correct this from the partition menu. This message shows up when I first boot into Ubuntu after the installation. I installed it by mounting the ISO with Daemon Tools, and I just did the default Wubi installation. I keep reading everywhere that I need to choose my installation directory, but I don't get any option to do that. These are all the options I get for installation directory. I have a C and D partition on my drive, and I tried installing it on both and no luck either way. Any ideas?

  Hi, I have made some code that creates a red border around an image when the user click on to highlite thats the choesen one. But I want to erase previous or all border with a white border around all images before a new click is made on another image. My question is how do I activate a call to a function when a click is made and how would a function look in jQuery? I just whant to use the .css to change the border in perhaps a loop and change the id of the images? Can I mix common javascript with jQuery, or should it only be pure jQuery code in a script? • [jQuery] How to load vtip tooltip on a dynamically generated element?

  I'm new to jQuery and trying to combine the use of a tooltip plugin and a lightbox plugin. More specifically, I am using Colorbox (http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/) and vtip. • Replacing whitespace with sed in a CSV (to use w/ postgres copy command)

  I iterate through a collection of CSV files in bash, running: iconv --from-code=ISO-8859-1 --to-code=UTF-8 ${FILE} | \ sed -e 's/\"//g' | \ sed -e 's/, /,/g' \ > ${FILE}.utf8 Running iconv to fix UTF-8 characters, then the first sed call removes the double quote characters, and the final sed call is supposed to remove leading and trailing whitespace around the commas. HOWEVER, I still have a line like this in the saved file: FALSE,,,, 2.40,, The COPY command in postgres is kind of dumb, so it thinks " 2.40" is not valid syntax for a numeric value. Where am I going wrong w/ my processing of the CSV file? Thanks!

• Custom layout in Android: scrollable graphic with selectable elements over top

  Hi, I'm fairly new to the Android platform and was wondering if I could get some advice for my current head scratcher: I'm making an app which in one view will need an image, which can be scrolled on one axis, with a load of selectable points over the top of it. Each point needs to be positionable on the x and y (unlikely to change once the app is running, but I'll need to fine tune the positions whilst I'm developing it). I'd like to be able to let the user select each point and have a graphic drawn on the point the user has selected or just draw a graphic on one/more points without user intervention. I though for the selectable points I could extend the checkbox with a custom image for the selected state - does that sounds right, or is there a better way of doing this? Is there any thing I can read up on doing this, I can't seem to find anything on the net about replacing the default images? I was going to use the absolute layout, but see that it's been depreciated and I can't find anything to replace it. Can anyone give me some code or advice on where to read up on what I need to do? • Why won't Internet Explorer (or Chrome) display my 'Loading...' gif but Firefox will?

  I have a page that fires several xmlHttp requests (synchronous, plain-vanilla javascript, I'd love to be using jquery thanks for mentioning that). I'm hiding/showing a div with a loading image based on starting/stopping the related javascript functions (at times I have a series of 3 xmlhttp request spawning functions nested). div = document.getElementById("loadingdiv"); if(div) { if(stillLoading) { div.style.visibility='visible'; div.style.display=''; } else { div.style.visibility='hidden'; div.style.display='none'; } } In Firefox this seems to work fine. The div displays and shows the gif for the required processing. In IE/Chrome however I get no such feedback. I am only able to prove that the div/image will even display by putting alert() methods in place with I call the above code, this stops the process and seems to give the browsers in question the window they need to render the dom change. I want IE/Chrome to work like it works in Firefox. What gives?

  I am trying to only fetch the first record in my table for display. I am creating a site where a user can upload multiple images and attach to a post but I only want to display the first image view for each post. For further clarification posts belong_to projects. So when you are on the projects show page you see multiple posts. In this view I only want to display the first image for each post. Is there a way to do this in the view without affecting the controller (as later I want to allow users to browse all photos through the addition of a lightbox). • Stop lazy-loading images?

  Here's the issue – I followed along with the Apple lazy-load image sample code to handle my graphical tables. It works great. However, my lazy-load image tables are being stacked within a navigation controller so that you can move in and out of menus. While all this works, I'm getting a persistent crash when I move into a table then move immediately back out of it using the "back" button. This appears to be a result of the network connections loading content not being closed properly, or calling back to their released delegates. Now, I've tried working through this and carefully setting all delegates to nil and calling close on all open network connections before releasing a menu. However, I'm still getting the error. Also – short posting my entire application code into this post, I can't really post a specific code snippet that illustrates this situation. I wonder if anyone has ideas for tasks that I may be missing? Do I need to do anything to close a network connection other than closing it and setting it to nil? Also, I'm new to debugging tools – can anyone suggest a good tool to use to watch network connections and see what's causing them to fail? Thanks!
