  • Volume Control in android application

    Hi, I'd like to know how to control my application's volume from the volume keys ( contrary to my belief , I've read they control only the ringer volume). Should I overwrite the onKey Down/Up ? , or is there other way to accomplish this ? . I'm asking because if I overwrite the upper mentioned function for an activity, then the functions will receive the event only if a view associated with the this activity has the focus, and I looking for something "Globaly" ( to work no matter what activity is running now)

  • Identifying and removing null characters in UNIX

    I have a text file containing unwanted null characters. When I try to view it in I see ^@ symbols, interleaved in normal text. How can I: a) Identify which lines in the file contains null characters? I have tried grepping for \0 and \x0, but this did not work. b) Remove the null characters? Running strings on the file cleaned it up, but I'm just wondering if this is the best way? Thanks

    I'm having trouble trying to use Volley's NetworkImageView with an InfoWindow of Google Maps API v2. My markers shows an InfoWindow with an image fetched from the internet. As you know, the only way to do this is to show the InfoWindow and refresh it when finished downloading the image. So I need a way to know when the NetworkImageView have finished downloading the image so I can refresh that view. I'm looking for something like onLoadComplete Any ideas?

    Hi, I have a strange issue in my iPhone application. I have created a UITableView with 4 Sections and 3 Rows so totally 12 Rows. But - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath The above method only gets called for 9 times instead of 12 times.why this happenning. My 4th section is not getting constructed but my 1st section gets duplicated as 4th section. Thanks for your time and help.   • I have 5 links that open the same modalpopup?

    I have 5 links that are on the same form but I would like them all to reference the same AJAX modalpopup extender. I am basically showing a panel with the same view layout with just different data depending on which link is pressed, showing different match scores from games. The only way I can get it to work is have 5 panels with unique names and each link references its own panel. Can I get all the links to call one panel? Thanks

Before I used to use ctags and used to run script which creates tag files within the directories of codebase for each clearcase view as a result I can use multiple clearcase views with different codebases at once. But in case of cscope, database is getting created in my home directory as a result I have to build cscope database everytime and not able to use parallely different clearcase views with different codebases. Is there any solution for this problem ??

    Hi. I'm trying to use a UIPicker View with a behavior somehow different of what's usually seen in iPhone code examples. What I want to do is to allow users to scroll through the picker contents, but not to select a picker's row automatically (using the "didSelectRow" method from picker's delegate). Instead, I want to allow the user to touch the center row of the picker, which gets highlighted, and becomes the selection. Is there any way to achieve this? Thanks in advance.

I also got an error when I tried to create the file with File path = new File(uri); saying 'there is no applicable constructor to '(android.net.Uri)' though http://developer.android.com/reference/java/io/File.html#File(java.net.URI) Seems to think it's possible...unless java.net.URI is different to android.net.URI, in which case can I convert them?     I am having a bit of a hard time providing localized strings for the UI in a small Silverlight 4 application. Upon further inspection I took apart the XAP resulted file, taken the resulted DLL file to Reflector and inspected the embedded resources. It only contains the default resource!! Going back to the two resource files I am now inspecting their properties : Build action : Embedded Resource Copy to output directory : Do not copy Custom tool : ResXFileCodeGenerator Custom tool namespace : [empty] Both resource (.resx) files have these settings.
