• Core Data No Longer Updating Sqlite Schema

  I am using core data for my app and I never had any problems adding or removing columns until recently. But now even if I make changes to my xcdatamodel and generate new and updated entity h/m files, sqlite doesn't seem to be picking up the changes. I actually went over to the documents folder and inspected the create statement for the relevant tables in sqlite3 and I was able to confirm that the columns I added were missing. I removed and redeployed the app several times to no avail. Is it possible to do something to the app to make it disregard any schema changes being made through xcdatamodel? I guess another thing I should mention is I recently started putting my entire projects folder in CVS so I wonder if something got messed up in the checkin and check out process.

• What is the best way to update a field for each row in a table?

  I have a table called artists. Within it, there is a field for the artist name (artist_name). Then there is a field for SEO friendly artist name, we'll call it search_name. I have over 40,000 artists in this table. So, I'd like to convert all artists names to search friendly. What is the best way to accomplish this? Not looking for code here, just ideas. This is what I have thus far. I'm just not sure if I should call all 40,000 artists, loop through them and update? // Does this artist name have any symbols, apostrophes, etc. If so, strip them out // Does this artist have a space (the beatles)?   I'm working on Ruby on rails 2.3.4 and I'm trying to develop a Sort feature on my website's search page(its url is /anuncios/buscar). What I tried is to create a "map" on routes file: map.search_filter_relevance "/anuncios/buscar", :controller => 'announcements', :action => 'search_filter_relevance' Then, I wrote this on the view: <%= link_to 'M&Aacute;S RELEVANTES', search_filter_relevance(@announcements) %> And finally, I created a method in the controller, as is specified on the routes' line: def search_filer_relevance raise params.inspect end First of all, as I'm sorting search results, I'd like to keep them in their public variable called @announcements. Please help me do this. An the other thing is that when I click the link I get an error due its trying to access the Show action instead of search_filter_relevance as specified in routes. Why is this happening?

  Hi, I'm working through the Stanford iPhone podcasts and have some basic questions. The first: why is there no easy string concatenation? (or am I just missing it?) I needed help with the NSLog below, and have no idea what it's currently doing (the %@ part). Do you just substitute those in wherever you need concatenation, and then comma separate the values at the end?   I have a solution containing asp.net project class library WCF service class library WCF service application I've added a project refference from the asp.net project to the class library project and to the service class library project. I've published the asp.net application, loaded it to the webserver root. all ok. Now for the service, I've created a new folder on the root called WCF, and placed the aplication in there. Is this The way I should deploy the sollution? Are this the steps when you have more than a simple asp.net application?   I have a slight problem with .htaccess redirect. I have a dynamic site with 2 levels of variables - content="type -(alpha)" and ID="number" but this is very not seo friendly what I really would like to create is a rewrite rule that generates a "friendly" url for serach engines & users alike. Very much like WordPress does. Each ID is already unique (obviously) and on creation is creating a unique "permalink" field so for example ID=1 has a "permalink field" as "2009/10/27/page title" and ID=100 would be "2010/10/27 page title". • Reset after using a link with parameters

  I am using the window.location.search parameters (www.mysite.com?page=1) to direct the user to a specific page within the site. However, since those parameters are still in window.location (the browser) reset button continues to re-direct to the same page. I would like the reset button to re-direct to www.mysite.com How do I clear the .search parameters so the (browser) reset button re-directs where I want? Is it done after the page is loaded? or after the (browser) reset button has been clicked?

  Hello, I was able to build Qt 4.5 for Windows CE (ARM4VI) using MS VisualC++ compiler. Now, I am trying to compile Qt 4.5 for Windows CE 5.0 using Marvel C++ compiler v 2.2 (former Intel C++ compiler for XScale architecture) for achieving some performance benefit. It seems, that this compiler not officially supported for building Qt by trolltech (no appropriate mkspec in mkspec's folder of Qt folder). So, my questions: Is it worth to trying build Qt by this compiler for achieving performance enhancement ? Is there any way for building Qt using Marvell C++ compiler (by creating my own mkspec or something like that)?

• How do you install cocos2d-iphone on the Mac?

  There are no good instructions for installing cocos2d for iPhone on the mac. I downloaded the current build from git, a folder called "cocos2d-iphone-0.99.1". i put this folder in /Developer/Libary. Q: is this right? I tried running the file called "install_template.sh". it said the templates were already installed. Instead, I manually dragged the templates folders where they belong, and they ~do~ appear in the XCode's "New Project" dialog. When I create a new cocos2d project, I see all these red links for project files, instead of the regular black links. When I try to open them in the finder, nothing happens. I can tell that something is not linked. Can someone please help walk me through this? Thanks!

  Hi Everyone, I have an FTP auto downloader program. It downloads new files from a given FTP folder. The application was successful for some FTP folders that i have tested. These folders contain 30 - 50 files. However, when i tried an FTP folder with 150 and 18000 files, i receive this error message: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine. My first assumptions will be because of firewalls or anti virus. I don't have administrative access to this computer so I would like to ask if there are other reasons for this before i raise this to our systems dept? Need anyone's help asap. Thanks :)

• symlink files newer than X age, then later remove symlink once file ages?

  Hello everyone, i have a large number of files/folders coming in each day that are being sorted automatically to a wide variety of folders. I'm looking for a way to automatically find these files/folders and create symlinks to them all within an "incoming" folder. Searching for file age should be sufficient for finding the files, however searching for age and owner would be ideal. Then once the files/folders being linked to reach a certain age, say 5 days, remove the symlinks to them automatically from the "incoming" folder. Is this possible to do with a simple shell or python script that can be run with cron? Thanks!

  I ran the following command at linux bash: apt-cache search hex.*(view|edit) My intention was to find any software packages whose name/description contains the pattern 'hex.*(view|edit)'. But among the results I got this: kipi-plugins - image manipulation/handling plugins for KIPI aware programs How could this be in the results list? I didn't see any matching string in this result. Is this a bug of the apt-cache search command? Or do I mis-understand how the regex is used by this command? Many thanks.

• SQL Query taking too long

  I am trying to optimize the SQL query listed below. It is basically a search engine code that retrieves products based on the products name. It also checks products model number and whether or not it is enabled. This executes in about 1.6 seconds when I run it directly through the phpMyAdmin tool but takes about 3 seconds in total to load in conjunction with the PHP file it is placed in. I need to add a category search functionality and now that is crashing the MySQL server, HELP! • How can I make external script output link to code in Visual Studio?

  I sometimes need to search code for patterns in a way that goes beyond the regex capabilities of Visual Studio (e.g. patterns that depend on what was seen previously in the file or on the contents of other files). So I use Perl to analyze the source and output matching lines, along with the file name and line number. Since this is the exact same format as is produced by the search feature of Visual Studio, I wonder if there is a way to duplicate the functionality where I can double-click on a line and it will display that line in context in Visual Studio. Any ideas?

  Just came across this issue using the fulltext search of mysql. I have like 250 records ( long articles like stuff ) and am using the fulltext MATCH AGAINST IN BOOLEAN MODE. Now if I search for a keyword e.g. 'Samsung' and if this keyword is present in ALL the records then it returns all the 250 records which it should ( of course without `IN BOOLEAN MODE it would return nothing as the keyword is present in more than 50% of the records ). Now the problem is that in some articles the keyword 'Samsung' occurs once and in others a couple of times, but MYSQL is giving a score of 1 to all the records returned, even those which have 'Samsung' like 15 times in them.

  I'm creating some pagination for my website, and want to use an input-element to navigate between pages. Like the following example: The input would require the "return" key to be hit for the script to trigger. If the value entered is not within range and alert would trigger. e.g. If there was 32 pages, "Please enter a value between 1 and 32" Can this be done using jQuery or javascript, by detecting the value change within the range of pages and redirecting to that page? But when I tried to install it I got an error telling me that my media files couldn't be found. ** I placed the media files in "Debug" folder inside "bin" folder. ** I'm using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition to develop this project.
