• Evaluating php generated javascript "inline"?

  If you look at the source of this page http://kingston.talking-newspapers.co.uk/ you will see a large amount of inline javascript near the top. I don't really want all this extra stuff floating around in my page source, I'd much rather get it off into a script tag, and then I can minify it and all sorts. If I call it as a php file, this SHOULD work in theory, I just end the js file extension with php instead, and in the header I put the following: header("Content-type:application/x-javascript"); but... a lot of the php variables used to generate the playlist within the javascript are setup at the beginning of the main index.php file, and in calling this php-generated js playlist file like this, it seems to evaluate it entirely separately, so it's full of errors. The only way round it I can think of is to have the page write a file, then immediately read it in. The other thing is, the playlist is likely to change often and dynamically, so I think I need to get minify to NOT cache it?

• activemq round robin between queues or topics

  I'm trying to achieve load balancing between different types of messages. I would not know in advance what the messages coming in might be until they hit the queue. I know I can try resequencing the messages, but I was thinking that maybe if there was a way to have the various consumers round robin between either queues or between topics, this would solve my problem. The main problem i'm trying to solve is that I have many services sending messages to one queue with many consumers feeding off one queue. I do not want one type of service monopolizing the entire worker cluster. Again I don't know in advance what the messages that are going to hit the queue are going to be. To try to clearly repeat my question: Is there a way to tell the consumers to round robin between either existing queues or topics? Thank you in advance.

  I have setup Riak on a Ubuntu machine, and it seam to work if I do riak ping. Now I would like to use the Riak Java client to store an object, but it doesn't work. I get com.basho.riak.client.response.RiakIORuntimeException when I try to store an object. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to test if I can access riak from my java client?   I am doing a java project and I got this problem and don't know how to fix it. • Detecting Requests from Mobile Browsers in ASP.NET

  I have an existing web site and I would like to create a mobile version of it that is more suitable. For instance, the main site uses drop-down menus and we all know those are quite the fail on mobile devices. I would like to redirect to my mobile version (it will be a subdomain of the current site) if I detect a request from a mobile browser. So when they Google something and come to my site, they will automatically see the mobile version (just like Wikipedia). Does ASP.NET provide an easy way of doing this? If not, how can I do it?

  Hello, I'm sure I'm just doing something stupid here, but I can't quite figure out what it is. When I try to run this code: #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <sstream> using namespace std; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { string s("hello"); istringstream input(s, istringstream::in); string s2; input >> s2; cout << s; } I get this error: malloc: *** error for object 0x100016200: pointer being freed was not allocated *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug The only thing I can think of is that I allocated s2 on the stack, but I thought strings manage their own content on the heap.   I am still new to this Memory Management stuff (Garbage Collector took care of everything in Java), but as far as I understand if you allocate memory for an object then you have to release that memory back to the computer as soon as you are finished with your object. myObject = [Object alloc]; and [myObject release]; Right now I just have 3 parts in my Objective-C .m file: @Interface, @Implementation and main. I released my object at the end of the program next to these guys: [pool drain]; return 0; But what if this program were to be a lot more complicated, would it be okay to release myObject at the end of the program? I guess a better question would be when do I release an object's allocated memory? How do I know where to place [myObject release];?

  Hey, When this one runs everything goes fine: (r"^newobject$", "views.myobjects.newobject"), All the CSS + JS files are properly fetched from: static/css/... static/js/... When this one runs: (r"^mybjects/(([a-z]|[A-Z]|[0-9])+)$","views.myobjects.loadobject"), All the css and JS files that are being fetched, are run trough the urlpatterns and are returning my defailt page: (r"", 'views.main.index'), This makes all my CSS and JS code to actualy be HTML. My guess is that i'm giving some noob mistake. Is there any common reason why this should happen? And how to fix it?

I am quessing that I need to link the relevant files to a-z.php and then load it via ajax. Doesn't this kind of defeat the object of ajax?? That means that I will be loading the js files on the main page and then loading them again when I ajax a-z.php I hope I made some sense.

  I'm developing an app that checks several conditions during an incoming phone call. The main parts of the app are a BroadcastReceiver listening for Intents related to the phone's status and a local Service checking the conditions. At the moment the service is started each time an incoming call is detected and is stopped when the phone status changed back to idle. Now I'm wondering if this procedure is correct and whether it is reasonable to start and stop the service related to the phone's status. Or would it be better to let the service run regardless of the phone's status and bind/unbind to/from it when needed. Are there any performance issues I would have to think about? Perhaps it is more expensive to start/stop a service than letting it run and communicate with it. Are there any best practices out there regarding the implementation of services?

  So I would like to set PATH and CLASSPATH system variables so I can use javac and java commands in the command line. I can just compile and run java programs in eclipse but I would also like to be able to run them through command line. This is where I have Java installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java jdk1.6.0_20 jre6 And this is where eclipse stores my Java projects: D:\java-projects HelloWorld bin HelloWorld.class src HelloWorld.java I have set up the PATH and CLASSPATH variables like this: PATH: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin CLASSPATH: D:\java-projects But it doesn't work. When I write: java HelloWorld Or: java HelloWorld.class I get error like this: Exception in thread “main” java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld The error is longer, that's just the first line. How can I fix this? I'm mainly interested to be able to run compiled .class programs from the command line, I can do compiling in the eclipse.

• Java Future and infinite computation

  I'm trying to optimize an (infinite) computation algorithm. I have an infinte Sum to calculate ( Summ_{n- infinity} (....) ) My idea was to create several threads using the Future < construct, then combine the intermediate results together. My problem hoewer is that I need a certain precision. So I need to constantly calculate the current result while other threads keep calculating. My question is: Is there some sort of result queue where each finished thread can put its results in, while a main thread can receive those results and then either lets the computation continues or terminate the whole ExecutorService? Any Help would really be appreciated! Thanks!

Our main requirement is to be able to search/filter/group/sort all of these projects by metadata in SharePoint. Our current process involves syncing this custom metadata into a SharePoint list (which requires a LOT of maintenance). Question: Is it possible to leverage SharePoint search to crawl/index these metadata fields in Project Server? How would I go about setting this up?

I'm using a framework that uses dynamic methods, and it is creating a dynamic assembly with the same name as my main assembly (which causes problems with WPF when it tries to load resources). So I need to find a workaround, and I thought of trying to change the name of the dynamic assembly. I've tried using GetName() and then setting the Name property, but it appears that GetName returns a clone of the name because my change doesn't stick. What else can I try?

For some reason, I have to do [ebp+6] then [ebp+10] and so forth. Could anyone tell me why?

• Reading Excel spreadsheets with Delphi

  I need to read from and write to Excel spreadsheets using Delphi 2010. Nothing fancy. Just reading and writing values from specific cells and ranges on different sheets. Needs to work without having Excel installed and support Excel 2007. Some things I've looked at: I've tried using ADO, which works OK for selecting everything in an entire sheet, but I haven't had much luck reading specific cells or ranges. NativeExcel looked promising, but it doesn't seem to be in active development, and they don't respond to e-mails. Axolot has a couple of products. The main product seems to be very functional, but is pricey. They have a lite version, but it doesn't support Delphi 2010. Any recommendations? Free would be great, but I'm open to a commercial solution as long as it's reliable and well supported.
