  • Paint Shop Pro-like open-source software?

    I need to add shapes that have been available in Paint Shop Pro since version 7 like curved arrows, etc. I gave Paint.Net and IrfanView a try, but they don't seem to support more sophisticated shapes than straight lines, circles, or rectangles. If this is correct, does someone know of a PSP-equivalent open-source solution for Windows? Thank you.

    I have a few MP4s that i want to upload to my flickr account but they have a maximum size of 500mb as mine is only about 550 i was planing to simply split them in half then upload them, but i want to make sure all the meta data is included but it does not seem to be.   • Why wont this sort in Solr work?

    I need to sort on a date-field type, which name is "mod_date". It works like this in the browser adress-bar: http://localhost:8983/solr/select/?&q=bmw&sort=mod_date+desc But I am using a phpSolr client which sends an URL to Solr, and the url sent is this: fq=+category%3A%22Bilar%22+%2B+car_action%3AS%C3%A4ljes&version=1.2&wt=json&json.nl=map&q=%2A%3A%2A&start=0&rows=5&sort=mod_date+desc // This wont work and is echoed after this in php: $queryString = http_build_query($params, null, $this->_queryStringDelimiter); $queryString = preg_replace('/%5B(?:[0-9]|[1-9][0-9]+)%5D=/', '=', $queryString); This wont work, I dont know why! Everything else works fine, all right fields are returned. But the sort doesn't work. Any ideas? So this is the way I need to get to work (via php). This code below (also on top of this Q) works but thats because I paste it into the adress bar manually, not via the PHPclient. But thats just for debugging, I need to get it to work via the PHPclient: http://localhost:8983/solr/select/?&q=bmw&sort=mod_date+des // Not via phpclient, but works UPDATE (2010-03-08): I have tried Donovans codes (the urls) and they work fine. Now, I have noticed that it is one of the parameters causing the 'SORT' not to work. This parameter is the "wt" parameter. If we take the url from top of this Q, (fq=+category%3A%22Bilar%22+%2B+car_action%3AS%C3%A4ljes&version=1.2&wt=json&json.nl=map&q=%2A%3A%2A&start=0&rows=5&sort=mod_date+desc), and just simply remove the "wt" parameter, then the sort works. BUT the results appear differently, thus making my php code not able to recognize the results I believe. Donovan would know this I think. I am guessing in order for the PHPClient to work, the results must be in a specific structure, which gets messed up as soon as I remove the wt parameter. Donovan, help me please... Here is some background what I use your SolrPhpClient for: I have a classifieds website, which uses MySql. But for the searching I am using Solr to search some indexed fields. Then Solr returns an array of ID:numbers (for all matches of the search criteria). Then I use those ID:numbers to find everything in a MySql db and fetch all other information (example is not searchable information). So simplified: Search - Solr returns all matches in an array of ID:nrs - Id:numbers from Solr are the same as the Id numbers in the MySql db, so I can just make a simple match agains every record with the ID matching the ID from the Solr results array. I don't use Faceting, no boosting, no relevancy or other fancy stuff. I only sort by the latest classified put, and give the option to users to also sort on the cheapest price. Nothing more. Then I use the "fq" parameter to do queries on different fields in Solr depending on category chosen by users (example "cars" in this case which in my language is "Bilar"). I am really stuck with this problem here... Thanks for all help

  • Ubuntu 9.10 will not boot

    After an update yesterday my Dell X300 will only boot to a screen with an option to perform 2 memory tests. If I perform these tests, it will only go back to this same screen, offering a choice of memory test again, 86+ or 86+ serial console 115200. This screen is headed - GNU Grub version 1.97 beta 4. This is a full install on my hard drive. How can I get back to booting normally?

    I've just installed IE9 on my workstations and Server in our network. According to technet article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699401.aspx There is a GPO setting for IE9 called "Configure Tracking Protection Lists" located at Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Privacy in the admistrative templates. I can find all the other IE9 settings in the GPO, but I cannot find this one. Does anyone know if there is an updated template, or if this setting was removed from the RC version of IE9?     HI Folks, i have an Inspiron E1505 with Windows 7 and Intel GMA 945 Chipset. I connected a Dell SP2309W 23" monitor via VGA to the laptop but it is not achieving it's original resolution but is stuck at 1024 x 768. Also it is detected as a Generic Non PNP Display Device. I upgraded my display driver to latest version and it fully supports Windows 7. What more can i do? Any help. Thanks a Lot in advance

    I tried using the GNU Emacs download, unzipped it and then clicked on emacs.exe, but got some obscure error. Then I tried Cygwin emacs, but when I press ctrl x ctrl c to quit emacs it thinks I pressed ctrl x ctrl "g"!!! I checked all the key mapping and they work otherwise in Emacs. Is there another version of emacs for windows that just works!

    I have the standalone Hyper-V Server 2012 running and I'm trying to create the first VM on it but I'm getting the following error: From my research, this error comes up with something related to the Intel IPMI driver but I have an Asus motherboard so I didn't think it was the problem. However, I ran the ResetAccess.exe fix anyways and to no surprise it said something like "This version of Windows does not require this fix". Thank you

    Has any one got a solution to this problem. I have installed windows 7 pro and installed audio (coexant) latest driver from the lenovo web site but it still does not work. I have seen many similar posts but no solution - just the usual - do you have the most recent driver.... etc. Is there any one that has solved this problem out there? (Driver details: Audio Driver 2.57 MB Normal Version 4.98.5.50)

  • Setting font size of Closed Captions on iPhone using ffmpeg or mencoder

    Does anyone know how to either: Make ffmpeg set subtitle font size in the output video file Make mencoder produce an iPhone-compatible video file (with subtitles) I finally found out how to get Closed Captions video on iPhone, with mkv and srt files as source material. The secret was using the mov_text subtitle codec in ffmpeg (and turning on Closed Captions in the iPhone settings of course): ffmpeg -y -i in.mkv -i in.srt -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map 1:0 -vcodec copy -acodec aac -ab 256k -scodec mov_text -strict -2 -metadata title="Title" -metadata:s:s:0 language=eng out.mp4 However, the font size appears very small on the iPhone, and I can't find out how to set it with ffmpeg (the iPhone has no option for this). I found out that mencoder has a -subfont-text-scale option, but I don't have a lot of experience with this program. The following, my best attempt so far, produces an output file which is not playable on the iPhone. sudo port install mplayer +mencoder_extras +osd mencoder in.mkv -sub in.srt -o out.mp4 -ovc copy -oac faac -faacopts br=256:mpeg=4:object=2 -channels 2 -srate 48000 -subfont-text-scale 10 -of lavf -lavfopts format=mp4 PS!   • chrome loses cookies

    I'm using google chrome beta version, recently i found all my saved authentications get lost when closing the window and reopen. It is not saving any passwords or "stay signed in" or "remember me in this computer". This applies for gmail, facebook, yahoo, etc. the issue is only with chrome, while firefox and IE are still ok. Is it something i messed up, or is it just chrome?

  • Mint Linux - Downgrade Java to 1.5

    Hello, I posted this over at stack overflow, but had a suggestion to post it here for better help. Currently, I am running Mint Linux (Release 9). I need to downgrade Java from version 1.6 to 1.5, and have been trying to figure out how to go about this. So far, I've had no luck. The package manager doesn't seem to have it.
