  I am trying to run growl notify over ssh like so ssh [email protected] "growlnotify -m test" is run I get bash: growlnotify command not found however running it straight from the mac it runs fine am I missing something simple or is there a really complex reason this won't work? ps. ssh keys are enabled in both directions edit: I logged into the mac from a remote machine over ssh and tried to run it and it ran fine so it seems to just affect the one line login and run way and DrC tried that cated the .profile to .bashrc

• Any plugins for Skype that support "Soundboard" usage?

  I would like to find a program or plugin for Skype that allows you to pipe sound samples in to the outgoing audio stream when you are on a call. Ideally it would have some sort of soundboard functionality so that I could have a group of audio samples at the touch of a button. I'd also prefer something that supports mp3 but wav support will also do.

• Virtualbox alert on screen changes

  I'm using Debian GNU/Linux + awesome. Inside it I use virtualbox with ms windows. Most time I spend in Linux, however I constantly need to monitor if something new happens in the guest system. Is there any way to make virtualbox alerting about any changes on guest screen (clock is disabled, therefore only new mail or instant message may change the screen)? PS. Unfortunately I can't to move mail and instant messages from windows due to specific clients for only internal network.

  I'm aware of the various options for setting the "run as administrator" flag, and for opening an Admin console Windows. But what if I have a normal console window and I want to run a command as admin? The 'runas' program doesn't seem to have an option that says "please don't show me some popup that I have to click on". What I really want is something like sudo for Windows.

  I tried a few times to scan newspaper articles, but the images I got were always blotchy and with bad colors (sort of like this). Sometimes I see some really good scans, like this.   Is there an FTP server that can also provide access via HTTP? Or what do I need to do to set up the mirror of FTP through HTTP access ? Some of my clients cannot access our FTP because of corporate policy and cannot get updates from me. However, they can use HTTP.   I am setting up a network to support IPv6. Stateless Autoconfiguration seems to be the preferred way to get an IP address on an IPv6 network but is this the preferred way for a server? Other machines outside of the network are going to need to be able to talk to the server. Is it preferable to give the server a static IP address or is there something fancy that can be done with DNS to keep track of the server address?

LINQPad is not an option (although it's great for learning Linq). It can only query database (and has many cons for my needs). • I know it is a VLC know issue, but cant find a workaround

  I installed VLC player, because it works better that other video player on HD videos, but know I have an issue all most of my games (All of those using Bink Video, that means all Unreal Engine games, Call of duty, and more). When I load the game, I can hear the videos, the audio is working, so I know the videos is loading, but there is no image on the screen! Once I read that it was a known VLC issue with DivX or something like that, cant remember, does anyone, know a way to fix it? Thanks in advance
