  • MySQL sorting: NULL to the end & use index? Not possible?

    - by Vojto
Hello fellow experts, I have a huge table and I want simple sorting. It could be so easy. I could just create an index and do some really fast sorting thanks to that index. But my client wants to put NULLs to the end, which is complicates the whole situation. Instead of simple: SORT BY name ASC I have to do SORT BY name IS NULL ASC, name ASC. That would be ok, but it because of that my index is useless, and the sorting is very slow. I don't know if there's a way to solve this problem, but if there is one, I desperately ask for help. :'(

    - by Subhen
Hi , I want to over ride the selection behaviour of listbox Items. We can traverse through listbox items using Up and Down arrows where as I wan to traverse the list using Left and Right arrow keys. While I am trying to add the key down event for Listbox, It shows almost all key presses except for Arrow Keys, Home, End and Similar keys. I have the following Code: private void listArtist_KeyDown(object sender, System.Windows.Input.KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Key.ToString() == "Enter") { //Go to Some Page } else { MessageBox.Show(e.Key.ToString()); } } I am clue less about it. Please help. Thanks, Subhen

  • CSS or JS max. character <h2> and replace end with "..."

    - by cr0z3r
Hey I assume my title basically summed it all up. I have a <h2> title, and I want it to have a max character property, be it CSS or javascript, so that whenever this maximum limit is passed, the title's end is replaced by ... (three dots). Thank you very much in advance. An example can be viewed here: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/now-accepting-bargain-submissions/23205 (see the title) P.S. Any idea why I had to create a new user? the login-feature through google doesn't recognize my previous user :(

  • How can I make TextToSpeech to speak a text with max volume and restore original volume after speak end?

    - by HelloCW
    I save the current volume both STREAM_RING and STREAM_MUSIC before sTts.get().speak(s, TextToSpeech.QUEUE_ADD, null), I hope the TextToSpeech can speak a text with max volume, but in fact I find the TextToSpeech speak the text with current volume, it seems that sTts.get().speak is asynchronous. How can I make TextToSpeech to speak a text with max volume and restore original volume after speak end? Thanks! public class SpeechTxt { private static SoftReference<TextToSpeech> sTts; public static void SpeakOut(final Context context, final String s) { final Context appContext = context.getApplicationContext(); if (sTts == null) { sTts = new SoftReference<TextToSpeech>(new TextToSpeech(appContext, new TextToSpeech.OnInitListener() { @Override public void onInit(int status) { if (status == TextToSpeech.SUCCESS) { speak(appContext, s); } else { } } })); } else { speak(appContext, s); } } private static void speak(Context context, String s) { if (sTts != null) { switch (sTts.get().setLanguage(Locale.getDefault())) { case TextToSpeech.LANG_COUNTRY_AVAILABLE: case TextToSpeech.LANG_COUNTRY_VAR_AVAILABLE: case TextToSpeech.LANG_AVAILABLE: { sTts.get().setPitch((float) 0.6); sTts.get().setSpeechRate((float) 0.8); int currentRing=PublicParFun.GetCurrentVol(context, AudioManager.STREAM_RING); int currentPlay=PublicParFun.GetCurrentVol(context, AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC); PublicParFun.SetRingVol(context, 0); PublicParFun.SetPlayVol(context,1000000); sTts.get().speak(s, TextToSpeech.QUEUE_ADD, null); PublicParFun.SetRingVol(context, currentRing); PublicParFun.SetPlayVol(context,currentPlay); break; } case TextToSpeech.LANG_MISSING_DATA: { break; } case TextToSpeech.LANG_NOT_SUPPORTED: // not much to do here } } } public static int GetCurrentVol(Context myContext,int streamType){ AudioManager mAudioManager = (AudioManager)myContext.getSystemService(Context.AUDIO_SERVICE); int current = mAudioManager.getStreamVolume( streamType); return current; } public static void SetRingVol(Context myContext,int vol){ SetVol(myContext,AudioManager.STREAM_RING, vol); } public static void SetPlayVol(Context myContext,int vol){ SetVol(myContext,AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC, vol); } private static void SetVol(Context myContext,int streamType,int vol){ AudioManager mAudioManager = (AudioManager)myContext.getSystemService(Context.AUDIO_SERVICE); int max = mAudioManager.getStreamMaxVolume(streamType); if (vol>max){ vol=max; } mAudioManager.setStreamVolume(streamType,vol, 0); } }

  • HELP!! Delayed-job: Rake aborted! Can't modify frozen hash

    - by pmneve
Too bad even the trace doesn't say which hash is involved. Sorry this post is long: am trying to provide enough context to be meaningful. Occurs intermittently when rake jobs:work is pulling a command out of delayed_jobs while my status observer is in the process of parsing a log file for detailed results of the previous delayed_job denizen. I have an observer class (in RAILS_ROOT/lib ) which listens for the events, makes a copy of them and calls the owner class ( in apps/models ) which then calls on the log parser (also in /lib) to do the actual work. (Should both of those classes, the observer and the parser be in app/models?) Am due to deliver this application in a few days and this is killing it (and me). Am using DirectoryWatcher to look for flag files that indicate the start and finish of the delayed_jobs. That is started at the end of environment.rb like this: require 'directory_watcher' $scriptStatusObserver = ScriptStatusObserver.new dirToWatch ="#{RAILS_ROOT}/tmp/flags" $directoryWatcher = DirectoryWatcher.new( dirToWatch ) $directoryWatcher.glob= "*.flg" $directoryWatcher.interval=(15) $directoryWatcher.add_observer( $scriptStatusObserver ) $directoryWatcher.persist=("#{RAILS_ROOT}/tmp/flags/dw_state.yml") $directoryWatcher.start at_exit { $directoryWatcher.stop } This code is outside of the run method (btw is that the best place or is inside the run better?) • HELP!! Rake aborted!

That is started at the end of environment.rb like this: require 'directory_watcher' $scriptStatusObserver = ScriptStatusObserver.new dirToWatch ="#{RAILS_ROOT}/tmp/flags" $directoryWatcher = DirectoryWatcher.new( dirToWatch ) $directoryWatcher.glob= "*.flg" $directoryWatcher.interval=(15) $directoryWatcher.add_observer( $scriptStatusObserver ) $directoryWatcher.persist=("#{RAILS_ROOT}/tmp/flags/dw_state.yml") $directoryWatcher.start at_exit { $directoryWatcher.stop } This code is outside of the run method (btw is that the best place or is inside the run better?) Here is the observer: require 'script_run' class ScriptStatusObserver def initialize @rcvdEvents = [] end def update( *events ) begin puts "#{LINE.to_s}: ScriptStatusObserver events: \n"+events.to_yaml cnt = 0 events.each do |e| if e.to_s.match(/^\s*added/) cnt = cnt + 1 @rcvdEvents << e end end ScriptRun.new.catch_up( @rcvdEvents ) if cnt > 0 @rcvdEvents.clear rescue puts $! end end end Here is ScriptRun (it attaches to an associative table built with has_many:through) require 'observer' class ScriptRun < ActiveRecord::Base set_table_name "scripts_runs" belongs_to :script belongs_to :run def parse( result ) parser = LogParser.new parser.parse(result) end def catch_up( events ) events.each do |e| typ = e.type path = e.path thisMatch = path.match(/flags\/(\d+)_(\d+)_([\d\.]+)_(\w+)\.flg/) run_id = thisMatch[1] script_id = thisMatch[2] ts = thisMatch[3] status = thisMatch[4] if e.to_s.match(/^\s*added/) status_update( script_id, run_id, status, ts, path ) end end end def status_update( script_id, run_id, status, ts, path ) scriptrun = ScriptRun.find(:first, :conditions => [ "run_id = ? and script_id = ?", run_id.to_i, script_id.to_i ]) if scriptrun.kind_of?(ScriptRun) currStatus = scriptrun.status if not currStatus == 'completed' scriptrun.update_attribute(:status, status) if status == 'parse' flag = File.new(path) logSpec = flag.gets flag.close logName = File.basename(logSpec) logPath = logSpec.sub(logName, '') logName =~ /^(([\w_]+)_([\w]+)_(\d+))\.log$/ name = $1 basename = $2 runenv = $3 tsOrPid = $4 result = Result.new result.log_path = logPath result.basename = basename result.name = name result.script_id = script_id.to_i result.run_id = run_id.to_i if runenv == 'sit' runenv = 'SIT3348' end result.application_environment_id = ApplicationEnvironment.find(:first, :conditions => [ "nodename = ?", runenv]).id parse(result) if run_completed?( run_id ) myRun = Run.find(run_id.to_i) if myRun.kind_of?( Run ) myRun.update_attribute( :completed, Time.now.to_f ) end end end end else puts "#{__LINE__.to_s}: ScriptRun.status_update: ScriptRun not found for run #{run_id} script #{script_id} ts #{ts.to_s}" end File.delete(path) end def run_completed?( id ) scriptruns = ScriptRun.find(:all, :conditions = [ "run_id = ?", id.to_i] ) scriptruns.each do |sr| if not sr.status == 'completed' return false end end return true end end LogParser is too long even for this post but it reads the script log and pulls detailed information (counts and timings) out of the log and writes to a details table. • jackson failing to map empty array with No content to map to Object due to end of input

    - by ijabz
I send a query to an api and map the json results to my classes using Jackson. When I get some results it works fine, but when there are no results it fails with java.io.EOFException: No content to map to Object due to end of input at org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectMapper._initForReading(ObjectMapper.java:2766) at org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectMapper._readMapAndClose(ObjectMapper.java:2709) at org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectMapper.readValue(ObjectMapper.java:1854) at com.jthink.discogs.query.DiscogsServerQuery.mapQuery(DiscogsServerQuery.java:382) at com.jthink.discogs.query.SearchQuery.mapQuery(SearchQuery.java:37)* But the thing is the api isn't returning nothing at all, so I dont see why it is failing. Here is the query: http://api.discogs.com/database/search?page=1&type=release&release_title=nude+and+rude+the+best+of+iggy+pop this is what I get back { "pagination": { "per_page": 50, "pages": 1, "page": 1, "urls": {}, "items": 0 }, "results": [] } and here is the top level object Im trying to map to public class Search { private Pagination pagination; private Result[] results; public Pagination getPagination() { return pagination; } public void setPagination(Pagination pagination) { this.pagination = pagination; } public Result[] getResults() { return results; } public void setResults(Result[] results) { this.results = results; } } Im guessing the problem is something to do with the results array being returned being blank, but cant see what Im doing wrong EDIT: The comment below was correct, although I usually receive { "pagination": { "per_page": 50, "pages": 1, "page": 1, "urls": {}, "items": 0 }, "results": [] } and in these cases there is no problem but sometimes I seem to just get an empty String. Now Im wondering if the problem is how I read from the inputstream if (responseCode == HttpURLConnection.HTTP_OK) InputStreamReader in= new InputStreamReader(uc.getInputStream()); BufferedReader br= new BufferedReader(in); while(br.ready()) { String next = br.readLine(); sb.append(next); } return sb.toString(); } although I dont read until I get the response code, is it possible that the first time I call br.ready() that I call it before it is ready, and therefore I don't read the input EDIT 2: Changing above code to simply String line; while ((line = br.readLine()) != null) { sb.append(line); } resolved the issue.

  • seg fault at the end of program after executing everything?

    - by Fantastic Fourier
Hello all, I wrote a quick program which executes every statement before giving a seg fault error. struct foo { int cat; int * dog; }; void bar (void * arg) { printf("o hello bar\n"); struct foo * food = (struct foo *) arg; printf("cat meows %i\n", food->cat); printf("dog barks %i\n", *(food->dog)); } void main() { int cat = 4; int * dog; dog = &cat; printf("cat meows %i\n", cat); printf("dog barks %i\n", *dog); struct foo * food; food->cat = cat; food->dog = dog; printf("cat meows %i\n", food->cat); printf("dog barks %i\n", *(food->dog)); printf("time for foo!\n"); bar(food); printf("begone!\n"); cat = 5; printf("cat meows %i\n", cat); printf("dog barks %i\n", *dog); // return 0; } which gives a result of cat meows 4 dog barks 4 cat meows 4 dog barks 4 time for foo! o hello bar cat meows 4 dog barks 4 begone! cat meows 5 dog barks 5 Segmentation fault (core dumped) I'm not really sure why it seg faults at the end? Any comments/insights are deeply appreciated.

  • How to correctly waitFor() a saveScreenShot() end of execution.

    - by Alain
Here is my full first working test: var expect = require('chai').expect; var assert = require('assert'); var webdriverjs = require('webdriverjs'); var client = {}; var webdriverOptions = { desiredCapabilities: { browserName: 'phantomjs' }, logLevel: 'verbose' }; describe('Test mysite', function(){ before(function() { client = webdriverjs.remote( webdriverOptions ); client.init(); }); var selector = "#mybodybody"; it('should see the correct title', function(done) { client.url('http://localhost/mysite/') .getTitle( function(err, title){ expect(err).to.be.null; assert.strictEqual(title, 'My title page' ); }) .waitFor( selector, 2000, function(){ client.saveScreenshot( "./ExtractScreen.png" ); }) .waitFor( selector, 7000, function(){ }) .call(done); }); after(function(done) { client.end(done); }); }); Ok, it does not do much, but after working many hours to get the environement correctly setup, it passed. Now, the only way I got it working is by playing with the waitFor() method and adjust the delays. It works, but I still do not understand how to surely wait for a png file to be saved on disk. As I will deal with tests orders, I will eventually get hung up from the test script before securely save the file. Now, How can I improve this screen save sequence and avoid loosing my screenshot ? Thanks.

  • How to solve docbuiler saxexception: unexpected end of document?

    - by user211992
I have a service that gives some car information in an xml format. <?xml version="1.0" encoding='UTF-8'?> <car> <id>5</id> <name>qwer</name> </car> <car> <id>6</id> <name>qwert</name> </car> Now the problem that I'm having is that my DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = docBuilder.parse(xml); Sometimes throws a SAXException (sometimes it works just fine, but when I reboot the server (still in development) I sometimes keep getting it) with as cause SAXException: unexpected end of document. But when I place a bufferreader there to see what it's receiving and I copy the value into an xml document and I open it in firefox/ie it looks just fine.

  • How to calculate the normal of points on a 3D cubic Bézier curve given normals for its start and end points?

    - by Robert
I'm trying to render a "3D ribbon" using a single 3D cubic Bézier curve to describe it (the width of the ribbon is some constant). The first and last control points have a normal vector associated with them (which are always perpendicular to the tangents at those points, and describe the surface normal of the ribbon at those points), and I'm trying to smoothly interpolate the normal vector over the course of the curve. For example, given a curve which forms the letter 'C', with the first and last control points both having surface normals pointing upwards, the ribbon should start flat, parallel to the ground, slowly turn, and then end flat again, facing the same way as the first control point. To do this "smoothly", it would have to face outwards half-way through the curve. At the moment (for this case), I've only been able to get all the surfaces facing upwards (and not outwards in the middle), which creates an ugly transition in the middle. It's quite hard to explain, I've attached some images below of this example with what it currently looks like (all surfaces facing upwards, sharp flip in the middle) and what it should look like (smooth transition, surfaces slowly rotate round). Silver faces represent the front, black faces the back. Incorrect, what it currently looks like: Correct, what it should look like: All I really need is to be able to calculate this "hybrid normal vector" for any point on the 3D cubic bézier curve, and I can generate the polygons no problem, but I can't work out how to get them to smoothly rotate round as depicted. Completely stuck as to how to proceed!

So in main.js : chrome.browserAction.onClicked.addListener(function(tab) { chrome.tabs.getSelected(null, function(tab){ chrome.tabs.sendMessage( //Selected tab id tab.id, //Params inside a object data {callFunction: "toggleSidebar"}, //Optional callback function function(response) { console.log(response); } ); }); }); and in sidebar.js : chrome.runtime.onMessage.addListener(function(req,sender,sendResponse){ console.log("sidebar handling request"); toggleSidebar(); }); but i'm never able to see the console.log in my console because of the error. Does someone know what i did wrong? Thanks in advance!

  • Looking for an email template engine for end-users ...

    - by RizwanK
We have a number of customers that we have to send monthly invoices too. Right now, I'm managing a codebase that does SQL queries against our customer database and billing database and places that data into emails - and sends it. I grow weary of maintaining this every time we want to include a new promotion or change our customer service phone numbers. So, I'm looking for a replacement to move more of this into the hands of those requesting the changes. In my ideal world, I need : A WYSIWYG (man, does anyone even say that anymore?) email editor that generates templates based upon the output from a Database Query. The ability to drag and drop various fields from the database query into the email template. Display of sample email results with the database query. Web application, preferably not requiring IIS. Involve as little code as possible for the end-user, but allow basic functionality (i.e. arrays/for loops) Either comes with it's own email delivery engine, or writes output in a way that I can easily write a Python script to deliver the email. Support for generic Database Connectors. (I need MSSQL and MySQL) F/OSS So ... can anyone suggest a project like this, or some tools that'd be useful for rolling my own? (My current alternative idea is using something like ERB or Tenjin, having them write the code, but not having live-preview for the editor would suck...)

  • What can cause a spontaneous EPIPE error without either end calling close() or crashing?

    - by Hongli
I have an application that consists of two processes (let's call them A and B), connected to each other through Unix domain sockets. Most of the time it works fine, but some users report the following behavior: A sends a request to B. This works. A now starts reading the reply from B. B sends a reply to A. The corresponding write() call returns an EPIPE error, and as a result B close() the socket. However, A did not close() the socket, nor did it crash. A's read() call returns 0, indicating end-of-file. A thinks that B prematurely closed the connection. Users have also reported variations of this behavior, e.g.: A sends a request to B. This works partially, but before the entire request is sent A's write() call returns EPIPE, and as a result A close() the socket. However B did not close() the socket, nor did it crash. B reads a partial request and then suddenly gets an EOF. The problem is I cannot reproduce this behavior locally at all. I've tried OS X and Linux. The users are on a variety of systems, mostly OS X and Linux. Things that I've already tried and considered: Double close() bugs (close() is called twice on the same file descriptor): probably not as that would result in EBADF errors, but I haven't seen them. Increasing the maximum file descriptor limit. One user reported that this worked for him, the rest reported that it did not. What else can possibly cause behavior like this? I know for certain that neither A nor B close() the socket prematurely, and I know for certain that neither of them have crashed because both A and B were able to report the error. It is as if the kernel suddenly decided to pull the plug from the socket for some reason.

  • How do Oracle Forms compare to Microsoft Access as a "front-end"?

    - by webworm
I recently started a project where I was set to build an ADP based application in Access 2003. The font end GUI was going to be in Access while all the data resided in MS SQL Server. I say "was", because the powers that be have decided that Oracle Forms might be a better choice than Access and SQL Server. The place where I am doing this work is an Oracle shop where they use Oracle 10g. They also use Oracle Forms quite a bit internally. As for me I am always up for learning anything new. I have always been a rather "eclectic" developer (I work with .NET WinForms, ASP.NET, Java, C#, Python, and Access) so I would not mind moving to Oracle Forms as long as it could do the same things as MS Access (hopefully even more as VBA is rather limited). So my question is this. How does Oracle Forms (10g) compare to MS Access for developing a GUI application? Access uses VBA for it's language, what does Oracle Forms use? I know the Forms app is a Java applet. Does that means you can write Oracle Forms using Java?

  • Should I be worried if I don't get any internships by 3rd year's end?

    - by karamba
I am in some mediocre college in some corner of India. Am about to complete 3rd year C.S. in a month and a half. I have no idea how to go about "finding an internship" as everyone seems to put it. Looking at online advice, I find that a primary way is to "use your contacts". I am sad to say that I don't have many friends(those I have, I am trying to get help from them for all it's worth), and my family can't help me as they have no idea about the software industry. My college has no official facility for aiding students in this, and the few faculty members who had contacts in "whatever" part of the industry have favoured some students that they have personally come to know. (Though I hear that the "internships" they got involve them stocking equipment in some small companies.... still it's something?) I'm getting nervous. I am considering just spending the coming summer refining my skills in C++ and begin learning MySQL and C#, both of which I have zero experience in. Maybe work on my own project... like a library management system. Relative to those in my college, I think I am among the best programmers there, but that isn't saying much as a lot of students can barely write basic code. I have experience in teaching myself C++, and DirectX9 having created a Tetris clone, some basic 3D apps (bouncing balls), and a basic console-based, text-file-database-using library management system (which I plan to improve this summer). Is it alright if I spend my summer so? Will I be able to get a job later on? I know I have to improve my social skills to get anywhere in life, and I will try, but say I am stuck like this till 4th year's end... will such self studying, online learning help me in landing a decent job? Perhaps after I have learned a bit more, joining some open source project?

  • Windows 7 freezes on boot screen

    - by this is a dead end
There was some update that required me to restart my computer, so I did. when it restarted, it stays at the Windows boot screen forever, the screen that says "Starting Windows" and has that Windows logo in the middle. I've tried the start up repair program that shows up when I click F8 when the computer starts. And tried system restore but, it says it has restored windows successfully but it still freezes on the boot screen when I reboot it. When I try starting it in safe mode, it gets to the blue Windows background, the one with the logon screen, then says "Failure configuring Windows updates. Reverting Changes. Do not turn off." Then after a while it reboot by itself. Just noticed, the logo animation on the boot screen is still animated. So it's not completely frozen.

  • How can I prevent Windows Update from crashing my computer?

    - by this is a dead end
I have Automatic Updates enabled and every now and then I'll get that little pop-up window that nags me to reboot to complete the update process. Usually, I ignore it and after 2 days my computer crashes. It crashes by freezing all the programs, including Windows Explorer, to the point that I can't even use CTRL-Alt-Delete (and my mouse lags). I'm pretty sure it's Windows Updates that is causing this. So, for now, I've disabled Windows Updates.

  • Using dispatchertimer in combination with an asynchroneous call

    - by Civelle
Hi. We have an issue in our Silverlight application which uses WCF and Entity Framework, where we need to trap the event whenever a user shuts down the application by closing the web page or the browser instead of closing the silverlight application. This is in order to verify if any changes have been made, in which case we would ask the user if he wants to save before leaving. We were able to accomplish the part which consists in trapping the closing of the web page: we wrote some code in the application object that have the web page call a method in the silverlight application object. The problem starts when in this method, we do an asynchroneous call to the Web Service to verify if changes have occured (IsDirty). We are using a DispatcherTimer to check for the return of the asynchroneous call. The problem is that the asynchroneous call never completes (in debug mode, it never ends up stepping into the _BfrServ_Customer_IsDirtyCompleted method), while it used to work fine before we added this new functionality. You will find belowthe code we are using. I am new to writing timers in combination with asynchroneous call so I may be doing something wrong but I cannot figure out what. I tried other things also but we without any success.. ====================== CODE ============================================== 'Code in the application object Public Sub New() InitializeComponent() RegisterOnBeforeUnload() _DispatcherTimer.Interval = New TimeSpan(0, 0, 0, 0, 500) End Sub Public Sub RegisterOnBeforeUnload() 'Register Silverlight object for availability in Javascript. Const scriptableObjectName As String = "Bridge" HtmlPage.RegisterScriptableObject(scriptableObjectName, Me) 'Start listening to Javascript event. Dim pluginName As String = HtmlPage.Plugin.Id HtmlPage.Window.Eval(String.Format("window.onbeforeunload = function () {{ var slApp = document.getElementById('{0}'); var result = slApp.Content.{1}.OnBeforeUnload(); if(result.length 0)return result;}}", pluginName, scriptableObjectName)) End Sub Public Function OnBeforeUnload() As String Dim userControls As List(Of UserControl) = New List(Of UserControl) Dim test As Boolean = True If CType(Me.RootVisual, StartPage).LayoutRoot.Children.Item(0).GetType().Name = "MainPage" Then If Not CType(CType(Me.RootVisual, StartPage).LayoutRoot.Children.Item(0), MainPage).FindName("Tab") Is Nothing Then If CType(CType(Me.RootVisual, StartPage).LayoutRoot.Children.Item(0), MainPage).FindName("Tab").Items.Count = 1 Then For Each item As TabItem In CType(CType(Me.RootVisual, StartPage).LayoutRoot.Children.Item(0), MainPage).Tab.Items If item.Content.GetType().Name = "CustomerDetailUI" _Item = item WaitHandle = New AutoResetEvent(False) DoAsyncCall() Exit End If Next End If End If End If If _IsDirty = True Then Return "Do you want to save before leaving." Else Return String.Empty End If End Function Private Sub DoAsyncCall() _Item.Content.CheckForIsDirty(WaitHandle) 'This code resides in the CustomerDetailUI UserControl - see below for the code End Sub Private Sub _DispatcherTimer_Tick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles _DispatcherTimer.Tick If Not _Item.Content._IsDirtyCompleted = True Then Exit Sub End If _DispatcherTimerRunning = False _DispatcherTimer.Stop() ProcessAsyncCallResult() End Sub Private Sub ProcessAsyncCallResult() _IsDirty = _Item.Content._IsDirty End Sub 'CustomerDetailUI code Public Sub CheckForIsDirty(ByVal myAutoResetEvent As AutoResetEvent) _AutoResetEvent = myAutoResetEvent _BfrServ.Customer_IsDirtyAsync(_Customer) 'This method initiates asynchroneous call to the web service - all the details are not shown here _AutoResetEvent.WaitOne() End Sub Private Sub _BfrServ_Customer_IsDirtyCompleted(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As BFRService.Customer_IsDirtyCompletedEventArgs) Handles _BfrServ.Customer_IsDirtyCompleted If _IsDirtyFromRefesh Then _IsDirtyFromRefesh = False If e.Result = True Then Me.Confirm("This customer has been modified.
