  Anyone know of a wiki or wiki plugin that generates a PDF file or CHM file that spans the entire wiki? I would like to have control of the table of contents. I would like the internal and external links to work. Ideally allow for tweaking the output template, but that is not a deal-breaker. I want to generate content using WIKI syntax and mindset (lots of cross-links etc), but ship the content in PDF, CHM or an embedded application form. Something friendlier than installing the wiki software on the enduser machine...

• Text overflowing floated div

  I have a problem with a fluid layout I am attempting to create. I was wondering why I am not able to get overflow:hidden to work on the left menu text on this site. As you can see here, I have labelled in blue, the text which I would like contained within the left menu div, although it overflows and pushes the rest of the site down with it.   I'm attempting to target VC7.1 (visual studio 2003 sp1) from Visual Studio 2010. I'm so close to setting it to work.   I wonder how people handle nonexhaustive match warnings in the SML/NJ compiler. For example, I may define a datatype datatype DT = FOO of int | BAR of string and then have a function that I know only takes FOOs fun baz (FOO n) = n + 1 The compiler will give a warning stdIn:1.5-1.24 Warning: match nonexhaustive FOO n = ... val baz = fn : DT - int I don't wanna see warnings for incomplete matches I did on purpose, because then I have to scan through the output to find a warning that might actually be a bug. I can write the function like this fun baz (FOO n) = n + 1 | baz _ = raise Fail "baz" but this clutters the code. What do people usually do in this situation?

• Vertex array with GLUTessellator

  I notice that every tutorial on setting up the GLUTesselator and its callbacks, use GlBegin, GlEnd and a vertex callback which uses glVertex. It seems to me like this makes it run in immediate mode right? That seems to me as inefficient. How could I set it up to use a vertex array? Could I just use the output from the vertex callback and then generate a vertex array from this data then submit it like I might usually do it? Or is there another, better way of doing this? Thanks

  Hi All, Here is my code which is doing the conversion from hex to decimal. The hex values are stored in a unsigned char array: int liIndex ; long hexToDec ; unsigned char length[4]; for (liIndex = 0; liIndex < 4 ; liIndex++) { length[liIndex]= (unsigned char) *content; printf("\n Hex value is %.2x", length[liIndex]); content++; } hexToDec = strtol(length, NULL, 16); Each array element contains 1 byte of information and I have read 4 bytes. When I execute it, here is the output that I get : Hex value is 00 Hex value is 00 Hex value is 00 Hex value is 01 Chunk length is 0 Can any one please help me understand the error here. • What open source database platform is most easily transferred from my personal machine into a window

  I would like eventual interaction with MS Dynamics SL and/or MindTouch Core (running on WMware) for eventual intranet and/or internet display. I guess I am asking for front and back end recommendations for a database I am constructing, but since this is my first major project I would greatly appreciate any help and advice. I would also love an opportunity to learn a new language so the code base could be in any language. I do have a few more related questions for discussion; What is the viability of using Google hosting to provide the service to the public for free? Should I implement plone or another CMS if I have a large amount of output? Is there a structuring questionnaire or standards publication I could reference? Does UML diagramming provide additional options for portability? Thank you.

  I have 100 of .gz files which I need to de-compress. I have couple of questions a) I am using the code given at http://www.roseindia.net/java/beginners/JavaUncompress.shtml to decompress the .gz file. Its working fine. Quest:- is there a way to get the file name of the zipped file. I know that Zip class of Java gives of enumeration of entery file to work upon. This can give me the filename, size etc stored in .zip file. But, do we have the same for .gz files or does the file name is same as filename.gz with .gz removed. b) is there another elegant way to decompress .gz file by calling the utility function in the java code. Like calling 7-zip application from your java class. Then, I don't have to worry about input/output stream. Thanks in advance. Kapil

• How are integers converted to strings under the hood?

  I suppose the real question is how to convert base2/binary to base10. The most common application of this would probably be in creating strings for output: turning a chunk of binary numerical data into an array of characters. How exactly is this done? my guess: Seeing as there probably isn't a string predefined for each numerical value, I'm guessing that the computer goes through each bit of the integer from right to left, each time incrementing the appropriate values in the char array/base10 notation places. If we take the number 160 in binary (10100000), it would know that a 1 in the 8th place means 128, so it places 1 into the third column, 2 in the second, and 8 in the third. The 1 in the 6th column means 32, and it would add those values to the second and first place, carrying over if needed. After this it's an easy conversion to actual char codes.

  I have a Users page, which is simply a nicely styled grid (HTML table) of users. I'm displaying a few fields for each one, and both the name and the profile picture have been set to link to the user node. What is the best way to change it so that the whole cell (HTML td) links to the user node? Would you have to use javascript? I've looked into modifying the theme of the view (over-riding the Style output e.g. views-view-grid--users.tpl.php), but cant see an elegant way to get the URL of the user node. And I think you would have to use javascript anyway to turn a whole block element into a link.

In my Perl script, I am reading from Java's stdout and using that line by line output. How do I print stderr and fail if I ever see stderr?   Given a classic DB structure of Orders has zero or more OrderLines and OrderLine has exactly one Product, how do I write a linq query to express this? The output would be OrderNumber - OrderLine - Product Name Order-1 null null // (this order has no lines) Order-2 1 Red widget I tried this query but is not getting the orders with no lines var model = (from po in Orders from line in po.OrderLines select new { OrderNumber = po.Id, OrderLine = line.LineNumber, ProductName = line.Product.ProductDescription, } ) I think that the 2nd from is limiting the query to only those that have OrderLines, but I dont know another way to express it. LINQ is very non-obvious if you ask me!

I have to generate documentation for the REST interface. I need to provide service URL, input/output and error document structure for each service. Ideally, I would like to use an interceptor at the server side that will document the service based on the existing traffic. I am wondering if there is a gem to do this.

  Hello, I am trying to find every "a - b, c, d" pattern in an input string. The pattern I am using is the following : "^[ \t]*(\\w+)[ \t]*->[ \t]*(\\w+)(,[ \t]*\\w+)*$" The input is : a -> b b -> c c -> d The function is : private void ParseAndBuildGraph(String input) { MatchCollection mc = Regex.Matches(input, "^[ \t]*(\\w+)[ \t]*->[ \t]*(\\w+)(,[ \t]*\\w+)*$", RegexOptions.Multiline); foreach (Match m in mc) { Debug.WriteLine(m.Value); } } The output is : c -> d Actually, there is a problem with the line ending "$" special char. If I insert a "\r" before "$", it works, but I thought "$" would match any line termination (with the Multiline option), especially a \r\n in a Windows environment. Is it not the case ?

Ultimately, I need to export this (into a csv), but if you could give me a query that would output this into a mysql table (or at least a workable select query, that I could then turn into an insert query loop, to create a table), I'd do it form there. • How do I remove (or apply) transparency on a gdk-pixbuf?

  I have a c++ program in which a gdk-pixbuf is created. I want to output it as an image, so I call gdk_pixbuf_save_to_stream(pixbuf,stream,type,NULL,&err,NULL). This works fine when "type" is png or tiff, but with jpeg or bmp it just produces a black square. The original pixbuf consists of black-on-transparent (and gdk_pixbuf_get_has_alpha returns true) so I'm guessing that the problem is with the alpha mask. GdkPixbuf has a function to add an alpha channel, but I can't see one that removes it again, or (which might be as good) to invert it. Is there a simple way to get the jpeg and bmp formats to work properly? (I should say that I'm very new to proper programming like this.)

  In Jinja2, how can one access assigned variables (i.e. {% set X=Y %}) within files incorporated with include? I'd expect the following to work given two Jinja2 files: A.jinja: Stuff {% include 'B.jinja' -%} B has {{ N }} references B.jinja: {% set N = 12 %} I'd expect that A.jinja, when compiled with Jinja2, would produce the following output: Stuff B has 12 references However, it produces: Stuff B has references I'd be much obliged for any input as to how to access the Jinja2 variables, such as N above, in the file that includes the file where N is set. • Problem with signals and slots

  I am creating a class with custom slots in Qt: class CustomEdit : public QTextEdit { Q_OBJECT public: CustomEdit(QWidget* parent); public slots: void onTextChanged (); }; However, I'm getting thise linker error: undefined reference to 'vtable for CustomEdit' The documentation says: if you get compiler errors along the lines of "undefined reference to vtable for LcdNumber", you have probably forgotten to run the moc or to include the moc output in the link command. ... but it is not obvious what that means. Is there something I need to add to my class, or to the .pro file?
