• Java/Swing: Problem with key listener

  I have a search dialog with a JTextField that's being used as a search box. When the user types something, it searches the DB, shows the result in a JTable and selects the first item in it. If the first result is what they were looking for, I want to let them quickly accept the dialog, by pressing Enter (while the JTextField is focused). So I added a KeyListener to the JTextField and it's working OK. Now the problem: The user opens can open the dialog by pressing Enter when a "Search" button on the dialog's parent frame is focused. The dialog is displayed and the JTextField gets the keyReleased event (from the Enter key that displayed it), so it shows up and closes. If the user holds Enter down, then the JTextField receives the keyPressed, keyTyped and keyReleased events. How can I fix without resorting to ugly workarounds? Platform is Windows 7 x64, btw.   Hi I'm working with a simple application in asp.net (c#). In my page1 I've a load button in that load button click event I try to open another window. In my second window I've a button If I click on that button my intension is to reload parent page (i.e page1). So I try to use this script scriptString = " window.opener.location.href = myparentpage; window.opener.document.getElementById('ValidationSummary1').style.display='none';"; Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.GetType(), "script", scriptString); But it is not working in Safari. Is there any solution?

• fullcalendar, how to limit the number of events per day in the month view

  I have many events on a day, and it works as expected but now looking at the month view, my calendar grid is much taller that expected. I'd like to hide some of these events from the month view, like a summary with a visual que that there are more on this day than can be shown. I can use eventRender and return false, but i would like to know how many events are on a given day, so i can limit the rendering to about 4, then perhaps i would add an event that says " more ... " So the question may be : how to count the events on a given date ? or is this more like a feature request to expose a max counter for month view ? thanks

• Use google analytics custom events for feedback form.

  I was thinking of having a simple feedback form in my website. It would be something like: Your Feedback will help us improve. [ ] and then a textfield/textarea where the user can type (let's say) up to 100 characters of feedback. Rather than handling it all myself on the serverside I was thinking to use google analytics (since my site is already wireup) and everytime a user writes a comment send a custom event to google analytics. I think it might work. Can people suggest a better approach or point out any problem with this idea thanks

  I have a image map set up and each area in the image map has a href defined. the href on area contains urls to other pages in my application. i generate a have a small ul which lists down name attribute of the area tag. i want the dynamically generated ul/lis to imitate click behaviour of area tag. for this, i have the following jquery set up - $('li').click(function(e){ $('area[name='+$(this).html()+']').trigger('click'); }); but the above works well only in ie6+. ff does not fire the click event. i also tried the click() variant but to no avail. looking forward for some help.   I am returning File result from action triggered by the form post event. I can't get download dialog. Instead, if I use: return File(Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(reportPath), "text/plain", "Report.csv"); I get path to the file upon ajax execution in the target div. When I use return File(reportPath, "text/plain", "Report.csv"); I get content of the file in the target div. Any thoughts ?   Hi guys, I'm having trouble getting in touch with SQL Server Managemen Studio 2008! I want to create a link-table that will link an Event to many Audiences (EventAudience). An example of the data that could be contained: EventId | AudienceId 4 1 5 1 4 2 However, I don't want this: EventId | AudienceId 4 1 4 1 I've been looking at relationships and constraints.. but no joy so far! As a sneaky second part to the question, I would like to set up the Audience table such that if a row is deleted from Audience, it will clear down the EventAudience link table in a cascading manner. I have created a swing application that basically has three input strings in JTextFields: loanAmount, interestRate and loanYears and a single submit button with the EventAction. • Intercepting static and dynamic links using javascript

  Hi, I'm currently developing an ajax application and I'm looking for a feature that lets me intercept all static and dynamic links using javascript. The links look like these: <a href="link1/">link 1</a> <a href="link2/">link 2</a> etc. I then want the browser to redirect to: current.page/#link1/ rather than current.page/link1/. I'm using jQuery, so the live() function is an option, however using that as a solution just seems rather sluggish to me(am I hysterical?). If there is a way to intercept ALL links on a page, maybe through detecting a change in the address, that would greatly help. I've tried a few plugins for jQuery (jQuery address & SWFaddress) but they only seem to have event handlers that respond to changes in anchor tags in the address. Any ideas? thanks for your time

  I'm using an MVC pattern in winforms application. I need to call remote service asynchronously. So On some event in View I invoke corresponding Presenter method. In Presenter I call BeginInvoke method of service. But to View must be updated only in Main Thread. I could actualy point CallBack to some function in View, and update it`s controls state, but this conflicts with MVP pattern - View must not be responsible for data it carries. This callback function must be in Presenter. But how then invoke View in Main Thread?

• Silverlight - Timeout Issue

  Hello, I have a Silverlight 3 application that is querying a large dataset. This query is taking over one minute. After approx. one minute into the attempt, an error is getting logged into the event viewer that says: "Membership credential verification failed" Oddly queries that are taking shorter than 1 minute are running successfully. Because of this, I do not believe it is a "credential" issue, unless somehow it is expiring. But how do I set the expiration? I have no idea what else this could be. Thank you,

• Inherit appenders from calling instance in log4j or logback

  In my program I have 2 separate streams of logging events (calling them streams for simplicity, in reality its 2 appenders). Stream1 contains client logging and Stream2 contains control logging. Now this might seem easy, except that certain classes can be both in the client logging and server logging, depending on the situation. Complicating this further is the fact that a command that a client wants takes place in 2 separate threads (one being fetched randomly from a thread pool), so any kind of tracking with MDC or NDC isn't possible. What would really simplify this is if the logger could inherit the appenders from the calling instance. That way I can setup 2 appenders for 2 loggers and be done. However I have no idea how to do it cleanly or easily. Can anyone offer any advice on how to do so? Note: If something needs to be passed around, I do have a event bean that gets passed to everything in the chain that can be used if necessary.

  Hi all. I am making an event application and user can set a reminder for events he wants. So i use the alarmManager to create alarms. I would like to put a cancel all option to my main activity so that i could cancel all the alarms created by my application. The usual method for canceling the alarm with the same intent doesnt really help cause i set tha alarms on a different activity than the one I want to cancel them in.   So, I have a plugin to an MFC program. I'm using a mouse event hook (from SetWindowsHookEx) to capture clicks. The host application can have any number of (possibly overlapping) child windows open, but I only want to intercept clicks in a particular child window. Is there a way to figure out in the hook proc which of the child windows would process the click? I guess it's something like enumerate all child windows, looking at Z-order, but I'm very unfamiliar with the MFC/Win32 libraries, and I'm not able to find any good discussion about how to enumerate all children and calculate which is topmost.
